Around 40/45 mins but I guess that would depend on the traffic that day.

No worries !Â
I am also on TripAdvisor under the same name if that's any help - any questions and I will try to help !
My niece was insanely jealous as like us she is a huge fan of the show - we printed the photo above and gave it to her framed as a jokey birthday pressie !

Wee Magoo …..
When we went on the Botanical Gardens and Deshaies trip we had an excellent guide who jumped onto our tour bus and straight away told us the she was a huge fan of the Death in Paradise show and that she would show us all the main sights. She didn't disappoint !!Â
The trip was for 4 1/2 hours and included refreshments at the beach. ( April 2017) She did a guided tour of Deshaies, showing us Catherines Bar, police station etc. Catherines bar was not open when we went but we were able to take photos and pose on the bars terrace overlooking the sea ! We also had a small amount of free time there. It is a small village rather than a town as such.Â
We also went to the Botanical Gardens where we went to have a look over a fence near the café/shop area where we discovered the veranda where the first DI met hid death.
We went to the beach where the DI's house is based but as the filming wasn't in progress the house isn't there but is marked by logs/branches.
We also spent some time on a beach where more filming has been done.
It was a great trip and well worth it in my opinion.
I have just got back from Celebration and saw that they now have a Death in Paradise tour on offer!!
I thought that I had details but don't seem to have brought them home.Â
From what I can remember this new tour was a bit cheaper and half an hour shorter, it will be worth looking nearer the time to see if they are both on offer and which will be best for you.

Thanks all !!
We went up to Speightstown by authority bus and really enjoyed the drive up there seeing local communities and then on through the more touristy areas.Â
We had a good wander around and had a drink overlooking one of the beaches.
We spent an enjoyable couple of hours as the only people on the beach on the northern outskirts of town next to a pricey looking restaurant and also near to a property that we are sure was on 'Place in the Sun' a while back!
We got a very busy yellow mini bus back into Bridgetown which was very enjoyable and with the loudest soca music we have ever heard pounding out of the speakers! Some people on the bus even managed to have a sleep on the way !
Great day !

Wee Magoo  - just back from our cruise and will sort out mist up to date stuff about the trip I can find when I am back on even keel !
-
Do the buses stop on the road near the cruise terminal or is it the bus station near by ?
-
🎅Merry Christmas !!
We plan to visit by local bus to either Speightstown or Holetown.
We want a wander around a small town and then spend some time on a low key beach before jumping back on a bus back again.
Any thoughts ??

Has anyone any info on who the cruise director onboard is at the moment and any of the entertainers. We have been lucky to have had Protégé onboard when we cruised the Caribbean the last twice but I dare say that they will be elsewhere now!

I'm liking the water dispensers and carafes for cabin.
I always felt that we shouldn't fill our bottle for shore or the room before.
-
Thanks - will make sure to pack a selection in the hand luggage. We are going to MountGay rum distillery as it isn't too far away on the day of our return.
We went to Deshaies a couple of years ago and did all the Death in Paradise scenes - great trip !!
-
We had an inside cabin and they were uk plugs but it is always a good idea to plan for all eventualities and take a multi adaptor
-
Have you cruised before ?
What sort of help do you need - more specific questions might be an idea.
Also ages/abilities of your group might give people more of an idea of what tips to give.

Thanks for sharing what knock on effects happened to you. Think I'd have crawled straight to bed !!!

Cruising on a TUI package has great advantages over other cruise lines - Think of those flying to USA to cruise Will the ship wait for them? I doubt it
Quite an advantage !
Have looked at website and it didn't mention flights to Bridgetown.

I can only imagine that there should have been a flight out today to join the Celebration. Does anyone know what the ship is going to do without Gatwick passengers? Will it wait until the issue is resolved or will it go on to the next port of call?
I can't even begin to imagine the upset the disruption must be causing. Better to be safe than sorry though …..

Thanks Pensioncruiser - had a quick look and seems to be a great looking beach !!

Our route has changed and Guadeloupe is now our first port of call so think we shall just have a quiet day with a walk down towards the museum for a couple of hours.
We enjoyed walking around the markets in Point-a-Pitre when we last there.
Still no ideas for St Barts though if any thoughts folks!!

Thanks for the info edinburgher - it's not too late !Â

I'm going in a few weeks on our cruise and trying to plan our last day.Â
We return to Manchester on a 1945 flight.
Has anyone experienced this flight time and if so what time did you have to disembark?
Am I right in thinking that we can come and go on and off the ship until we get picked up for the airport and still use our AI option?
-
interesting !
I have sent emails to Bernards about the tours and had no response.
Was the tour a good tour in the end and did they have provision at the dock for people who hadn't pre-booked?
Very wary about paying online now.

Just a couple of islands have been swopped around and therefore times on islands have changed a bit too. Beginning and end of first week.Â
Not a huge change but need to rethink our plans for what to do !!
Thought that the itinerary would have been set once we got our tickets but apparently not.

I am a cider drinker and have been ok on AI onboard Discovery and Celebration.
in the main dining room there is a menu each night which changes daily. I know that if there isn't anything you like there is also a couple of permanent other options including chicken breast but not sure what else.

just found out today that the route has changed. Short notice but that seems to be par for the course !!!!

thanks Pensioncruiser !!!
Any more ideas anyone ??

Second that Santrah !
We walked to that beach too - past all the blue towels !
I'm pretty sure that the beach is called Lower Beach/Bay.
