Thanks.
Which tour did you go on ?
-
We travel late December and I am trying to plan a few days that I am struggling to find info for so thought some of you fellow Marella travellers might be able to help.
We are fairly independent in so much as we like to jump on local buses to get a feel of where we are and also feel that sometimes ship tours are a bit of a rip off and too much like a conveyer belt. We prefer beaches that are fairly low key, we don't do sunbeds but would like to be able to grab a drink from a shop, vendor or bar.
We are struggling with the following ports of call -
Guadeloupe - we did the Deshaies trip which was excellent and wandered around town. What else is there to do ? Any nice beaches nearby? what is the museum like? Is the Hindu temple trip a good trip to go on/interesting enough?
St Barts - any ideas? I've heard that the locals don't seem to appreciate cruise ships/passengers.
Road Town- we have previously gone to Cane Garden beach and also on an island tour with the safari buses. Any other things to suggest?
Spanish Town BVI - looks quite small-any suggestions of places/beaches to walk to? Are the baths worth going to or are they just a few rocks in the sea?
Any ideas gratefully received!!

This will be our third visit from a cruise ship and would love some new ideas.
We have previously jumped on local buses and spent time in Marigot and also Simpson and Maho bays.
any tours worth going on ?

My husband's favourite tipple is Mount Gay Rum and this year as we are in Barbados on a weekday we are able to visit the hallowed ground.
My question involves the price of the rum there.
Is it cheaper at the cruise port or at Mount Gay itself?
-
Maybe it's different in the Xmas run up but we have been twice on a Sunday to Bridgetown and the shops were most definitely not open in the town. The shops in the cruise port were though.

I have seen the thread about Pigeon Island and would like to visit from Castries.
Is this possible by local bus??
-
Definitely worth a try !!!
-
I have just rung up and was able to choose my seats for out and incoming flights a week early!!!
-
Our flight in December has also been altered by three hours …. not as convenient but there you go !!!
-
Not going on her but think that's a great idea :)
-
Just wanted to know if it is open from the early hours when the flight would land or midnight or office times.
-
Thanks - good to have some tips. our date to choose is the 16th October. Will that mean at the strike of midnight or at the time the plane would be due to land 90 days later ??
-
I know that if you pre-book seats you can choose them 90 days before you return but has anyone any experience of when this opens ???
Is it at midnight or when the plane would land in England or depart from the destination?
-
Thanks that's good to know. Was it the same cabin or a different one ?
-
We went on the ships organised trip 'farewell Barbados'. It took you to some lovely sights, lunch at one of the plantation houses and then directly to the airport so we weren't hanging around the ship just waiting. it was a lovely end to our trip.
This year our flight doesn't leave until 6.45 pm I think so lots of hanging around. Hoping to get a late check out cabin but not sure how much/how late these are!

Has anyone got a copy of the drink menu for Celebration ?

Follow the above link, then scroll down to where it says most recent forum questions, then click on 'see all 200 Syros topics.' You can get some info there and post your own questions and some of the regular visitors to the island should be able to help.

Has anyone got an up to date drinks menu for the Celebration?
Do the waiters now serve wine with the meal in the main dining room or is it still served by the sommeliers ?:tropical-drink::tropical-drink:
It'd be great if anyone can help with the original question!
-
Sorry never been but would suggest that you post a question onto the Greece TripAdvisor forum. There are lots of people who might be able to help you. Don't be put off if someone tells you to come back to this site though - there are more people who will try to help.(yn)

The main part filming is definitely set around the Deshaies area of Guadeloupe.

highly recommend this tour.
There were places to sit and wander around at the baths - we didn't want to actually use the mud but enjoyed everyone else's experiences from our group !
We were at the beach for around an hour - there was some shade etc
any ideas ??
