  1. I was on an extended b2b (8 cruises in a row) preceeding the drydock, mattresses were being changed the last three weeks going into it.

That's Great News!! I don't know why I am so excited about new bedding lol

If it's any indication, the line for guest services stretches all the way to almost he theatre. That should tell you something!

Isn't the guest services line always long? It seems like it is always filled with complainers.

    LOL

  2. OMG ITS SUNDAY!!!!!!!

Someone on the ship, please give us a brief update before you sail away!!

    Any HUB on this ship?

    How do the rooms look?

Any chance you can sneak into a spa balcony room and check out the decor?

Please, if you can, save The Fun Times and let me know Anything about BINGO LOL!!

    HAVE A GREAT TIME!

  3. Thanks for all of your help. We embark on Sunday. This is the first time I have sailed on a ship fresh out of dry dock, so I hope I'm not afraid to touch anything cause it looks so clean and shiny :)

I will be taking LOTS of pictures and will do a full review when I get back !!!

We're sailing on Sunday, but we'll keep her in tip top shape for you :)

    Hello!!!

If you would be so kind as to perhaps take photos of the new menus and maybe even the Fun Times newsletter, we would surely appreciate it! I'm sailing in 2 weeks and would love a heads up! Enjoy your cruise and looking forward to any reviews! Thank you :)

  4. Thank you all for your replies!

Before starting this thread, I did perform a search but came up with limited results, and results dating all the way back to 2008! and a lot of those posts were negative. But I sincerely appreciate your responses and will call Carnival tomorrow to advise them of my dietary needs.

    Thank you all again!! :)

  5. Hello :)

I've cruised before but since my last trip I've had to change my diet after a diagnosis of Hashimotos. Being GF has changed my life and made me feel so much better!

I am afraid that being on the cruise and not having GF options available to be will sabotage my feeling well and throw my health back. While I don't have any severe gastro issues involved with eating gluten like many people do, it still makes me feel like crap.

Does anyone know if GF bread is offered, GF desserts, cookies, muffins, cakes?

    Thanks!

  6. Not too much new in cabins. New mattresses and all spruced up... Dings and chips in bathrooms mostly fixed... They're super busy cleaning her up now until they reach port tomorrow... Pools look great!

When is her first cruise post-drydock? I am cruising on April 3, I thought we were the second cruise to sail post dydock.

  7. The Serenity area looks small.....is there a bar right there? Somebody posted the aft pool is adults only....is that the deck as well or just "in the pool"? We found that on a Royal Caribbean ship....kids were allowed on the lounge chairs but they couldn't go in the pool. Technically an adults only pool but....

Not sure if this is allowed, but it's a youtube video of the Serenity deck.

Not very big, does not include a bar AND there's a staircase from the deck above where the slide is

I will be on the April 3rd cruise, the second sailing after dry dock. I heard that there will be no Red Iguana or Guys Burgers and the ship will have an American Table menu. All carpeting and tiles will be new, staterooms will all have new carpet and linens, there will be an addition of two new captains suites on deck 9. No new restaurants or bars, and not sure if Splendor will be included in the Carnival Hub app

  8. :o I am not really a spa kind of person, and with 9 cruises, I have never been to a spa on a ship, much less on land. question is; for those prices, what do you get in the spa? The older I get, the more, I am into pampering myself, especially since I only get to cruise/vacation once a year. Would love to know what those prices include, or where to go to find out. I have heard that Splendor's spa is very nice.:) and thanks

    Hello :)

When I took my first cruise (Disney) I decided I would treat myself to the spa package where I could use the steamrooms, showers, etc. I never had a massage or treatment on board. In my 3 other cruises, I also purchased the spa packages and the main priority is because of *SPACE*. My first two cruises were with my two kids and my ex-husband. Up in the spa, you take beautiful showers and have a lot of room to move around, dry your hair, do your make-up. In the cabin, the bathrooms are so tiny! MUCH better to relax in the sauna and hot tubs late afternoon, take a relaxing shower, dry your hair, do your make-up and saunter down to your cabin where all you'll have to do is get dressed.

In two weeks I'm cruising again with my two sisters. We will be staying in the Cloud 9 Spa balcony room which includes admission into the spa for two. I will be purchasing a pass for myself which I think is $179 for 7 days. Again, with us three women in a tiny room we will all be much better off getting ready for the evening up in the spa.

    To me, it's worth it!

    Have fun!

  9. Hello, I have been tossing the idea around of whether to schedule a shuttle pick up after our cruise, or just disembarking at the end of our cruise and taking a taxi to FLL.

With the thousands of people disembarking at once, are there that many cabs to handle the need?

    Flight leaves FLL at noon.

Should I schedule a shuttle or hope to catch a cab?

    Thanks!

  10. Where did you read that or did you read that while drinking on new year's eve. One is on the 5 fl while the rooms are on floor 10.

    Happy New Year

  11. Let me clarify lol

A lot of the suits for bustier women are nice fabrics fashioned in the same exact way as a bra, so even tho you're wearing something with cool swimwear fabric, it still looks like a *bra*.

Sunsets and Swim System are constructed to look like a swimsuit, not a bra, but they're just as supportive as a bra :)

  12. http://Www.Sunsetsseparates.com

    http://Www.swimsystems.net

I have been wearing these two brands for about 10years now, I used to go to a store that custom made swimwear and competition suits for fitness and body building competitions, solo expensive. I hated that with my large bust I could not find anything that made me feel comfortable.

One day I saw a girl with a really nice suit on, she looked like the same chest size as me so I asked about her suit (Sunsets) and I've been wearing them ever since!

They're not only supportive, but they're beautiful and don't make you look like you're wearing a bra.

  13. Hello,

We're booked on the Carnival Splendor next Spring and my sister purchased the FTTF pass for the room which enables us to board the ship as soon as we arrive in port as well as first on the Tenders going to shore.

Question: Does that also allow you to board the Tender when you're in port waiting to go back to the ship in the afternoon?

My last cruise we went to Belize and waited in the heat for about 45 minutes because the lines were very long and the tenders could only go so fast. It would be nice if we could skip that line as well.

    Thanks :)

  14. As for Brushing:

When I was younger, I read an article in Seventeen magazine regarding beauty tips practiced by supermodels. One that I have used just about every day since then was to use a scrub brush while in the shower to exfoliate your body and help deter cellulite in your legs. Back then I knew nothing about dry brushing, but I do/did brushing while in the shower (wet) and at 47, my legs look great. My two younger sisters complain about a lot of cellulite and neither brush. I have also told this to my two daughters (21&22) to minimize their accumulation of cellulite. I don't use oil, just shower gel or just a wet brush.

I also rarely experience swelling of my lower limbs. I an a busy ER RN, on my feet for 12 hours a day and thankfully no varicose veins (which run in my family) or swelling. I attribute the daily brushing for 30+ years for this.

Just as you brush your teeth and your hair every day, so should you brush your body. Your skin is your body's largest organ! It is *amazing* and should be treated with care! Give it the attention it deserves and needs :)

Also, hormones play a huge part in keeping our bodies in balance. Hormone disruptors are in so many products we use, eat and drink. Salt is not always the culprit. The cleaning products used, the fumes from carpeting, bedding, etc. cause problems as well. Sometimes it's just the environment of a cruise ship/airplane/hotel room, etc. that can cause allergic responses including inflammation.

    Anyway.....

So if you're cruising next week, next month or next year, start getting in the habit of daily brushing!
