    Hey again,

My partner just got back from guest services and questioned what is going on. After insisting on some answers, he finally got some!! Because the ship was built in Italy, Park 19 passed all Italian regulations BUT did not pass international safety tests but they keep saying they're hopeful it will open soon! But they are definitely beating around the bush and being secretive about it.

Hmmm, that does not ring true. Italy is in the EU, so would have to comply with EU safety regs, which are generally very high.

Treat it like a lottery ticket! Put in a cheeky low bid; after all you don’t pay unless your bid is accepted and, as there are no ocean view cabins on Sky, you will get a balcony of some sort. Enjoy your cruise whatever room you’re in!

They have premium ocean view apparently, with floor to ceiling windows...looks nice, I'd insert a screenshot if I knew how 😂 edit to add...deck 17

  3. I'm sailing in an interior cabin on Sky next week. Yesterday I got a third email inviting me to bid for an upgraded room. On previous cruises I've been lucky to receive even 1 such email, so now I'm wondering if I'm going to be on a half empty ship 😂 Is this something that often happens, and I've just not seen it before? I'm also wondering whether to put in a very low ball bid now, because they keep tempting me 🤦‍♀️

Doesn't that really slow things down if the staff makes a salad according to each person's wants or are they only prepare stuff that I would need to dump on a plate and redo?

Honestly, I don't mind lunch being a slower affair. My working day involves grabbing something in haste and eating on the run so when I'm on a cruise I am more then happy to take my time. I've not yet sailed on Sun so I can't say how much it slows things down, we need to find people who have and ask them. It seemed to work pretty well when I sailed on Sky immediately post covid though.

  5. I'd like an adults only Royal Class ship, definitely keep the International cafe in the piazza area. I love sitting with a coffee watching the world go by. I'd like to see an hour or so each evening given over to ballroom dancing. It's very pleasing watching ordinary people dancing or even just trying to dance such graceful dances.

I need the ship to be no smoking anywhere. Full promenade deck with plenty of seating available. I would like the buffet to be like the Sun, not self service. And since this is a fantasy wishlist, I'd like to be able to get a lounger near the pool any time I want.

And finally, on my fantasy ship, there is ZERO upselling!

Beat me to it. My door decorations have saved me from trying to enter the wrong room more than once. (Seriously, I've knocked on the right door, wrong deck before. Luckily no one was home. I finally figured it out) 😉

I've spent more time than can be considered reasonable for a responsible adult approaching the wrong door on cruises 🤦I've been turned around multiple times by our various cabin stewards. Door decorations would have been a brilliant idea 😂

Editing to add, because the conversation took quite a turn, I don't have any mental health or cognitive issues, just a lifelong poor sense of direction! My brother used to mock me for "never going directly anywhere, just circling it a few times before taking it by suprise" Sat nav is my favourite technology.

It possibly might be because the ship is in Europe right now.

I hope it changes to non smoking when it reaches the US.

Speaking as a European, I'm horrified by that! Ugh, that could be my deal breaker, I can't bear the smell of cigarette smoke. This seems like a very poor decision.

  8. We got "upgraded" on Diamond last year. I caught it fairly quickly and called our TA...the upgrade placed us underneath a noisy venue. We weren't able to get our original carefully chosen room back but we got one close by. I dread to think how it would have gone if I'd not spent so much time checking details, it's not good that this is a normal thing Princess will do. Where is the care for their paying customers in all of this?

  9. My first ever Princess cruise was post COVID in 2021, and nothing was self service. It worked brilliantly, presumably a lot of extra staff were needed though. So as long as the staff numbers are high, I'm in favour of this.

Tatting is a virtually lost art of making lace from fine thread. My Grandma used to do it and made gorgeous pieces. I still have her tatting hook - I wish I had learned more from her.

@Thrak I am so impressed that your wife has that skill. You just don’t see it much anymore. Very cool!

What a lovely skill and hobby to have!

I downloaded the update and now I can access my two scheduled cruises, one summer 2024 and one in summer 2025.

We haven't added a package for either cruise, however the app is showing that we have Princess Premier for our summer 2024 cruise. Anyone else seeing packages added or incorrect when using the app?

Yeah mine is wrong. It's showing Premier when I know I only purchased Plus, and nothing at all where I purchased Premier. I'm choosing to trust that it won't matter once I'm onboard.

  12. Much better with this update but I'm not sure if I have a glitch. When I click on Packages, on both my upcoming cruises it shows me just the Premier details. I have Premier booked for one of them, but just Plus for the other, so I'm not sure what exactly the packages tab is telling me?
