  1. Both show times featuring Horizon were great tonight. Some comedy and crowd work sprinkled into the performances were particularly notable and entertaining!

Battle of the Sexes: the men gave the women a run for their money, but ultimately the women took the title. The women raced ahead to a 2-0 lead before the men made it exciting by tying it up with the next two challenges. In the final challenge, the men had a slight lead but faltered, and the women pulled ahead with the win. A good showing, gents!

Late night ADULT comedy with Brad Mastrangelo was hilarious. Not sure why some parents thought it was okay to bring little ones?! There was a 2-year-old in the audience... [emoji848]🤦*♂️[emoji15]

Time change tonight, ship’s time goes ahead 1 hour at 02:00.

  2. really enjoying your review! just wondering what kind of prizes they gave away at meet n mingle??thanks

Some really nice prize packages. Several packages included a bottle of wine or bubbly (4 or 5 bottles in all I think), along with some combination of a baseball hat, a shirt or bag, pen, and keychain...that’s my recollection (apologies if not 100% accurate).

  3. So if you get the steak in the MDR you pay extra service charge for the waiter carrying a steak to you instead of what he otherwise would have been carrying?

Sounds like you already know the answer...but yes. [emoji848]

I’m still miffed by 18% gratuity being charged on souvenir glass purchases (e.g. outside the WJ when they are new/empty with no drink), because they are technically bar purchases. Whether they disclose that to you at the table or purchase time is hit and miss. They may not even write it onto your receipt so it will be a surprise on your SeaPass account. 🤦

  4. This is so great and appreciated...keep your thoughts coming...how long r u on the ship??

Until Dec 3rd when the 5-night charter begins. Was originally going to be on that one instead of the Nov 19th 5-nighter (before Dec 3rd was chartered - compensated by OBC and a no-charge swap), but we have met great people through this B2B and regret nothing!

  5. I'm on the Navigator to the ABC island next year too. Just wondering if Navigator uses the wristbands in place of the seapass card as I still have them from my Allure cruise. I understand they can be reused on another RCI ship which uses them. Thanks.

Navigator is not using wristbands (yet?) - still SeaPass cards at the moment.

  6. Thanks for the all the great information! We are on the 9-night in April.

Today's daily shows they are not serving lunch at the Columbus Café. Can you please confirm if that was actually the case? We love to sit at Columbus Cove and have the lunch right there! A bummer if they are only serving at two of the three areas -- a farther walk and probably more crowded!

I wonder if that is always the case with a ship the size of the Navigator.

    Thanks!

    Brad

We visited Columbus Cove today and we enjoyed it a lot.

Columbus Cove Cafe was serving lunch today, but only until approximately 13:00 when they shut down. My family grabbed food from there, as did many others. The usual fare...salads, rice, burgers, hot dogs, chicken, ribs, fruit, etc.

  7. We “completed” our pre-booked BOGO tonight on Navigator by going to Chops for both nights. No extra charge as expected.

Interesting anecdote: our waiter for the first night in Chops was the same waiter we had during our very first cruise, in the MDR on board Navigator 7 years ago for the transatlantic. I recognized him by face and name. Pretty cool [emoji41]

  8. Hello! I am setting sail on Navigator of the Seas on Dec. 8 from Miami. I believe I have everything set for this cruise, but would feel better if I knew which terminal we will be using. Thanks for assisting me. Karen

I can’t promise anything but I can tell you that the Nov 19th and 24th Navigator sailings were from Terminal G. It’s not exactly a spacious terminal but at least it’s not the dreaded tent I’ve heard about. I assume we will be returning to Terminal G on Dec 3 (when the 5-night charter sets sail before your cruise).

  9. I attended the RCI production show, “Now and Forever” tonight. I didn’t recognize some of the Broadway songs (which I still thought were performed very well) but they definitely finished strong with a medley from ABBA/Mamma Mia. However, I am a layperson, not a theatre arts critic, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(Furthermore, I do not watch any shows such as “So You Think You Can Dance”, DWTS, etc. so I don’t even pretend to know what I’m talking about when it comes to the choreography [emoji6])

IMO, Cuddy has been great so far - the M&M on this cruise has been the most interesting/fun I’ve ever attended in my experience. [emoji106][emoji106]

Simon John has been performing at the Schooner Bar and it’s been crowded each time I’ve passed through. Also saw him on Liberty last year but the Schooner was much less busy during that sailing.

  10. I’m on board Navigator right now. You’re right about the soda fountain machine - it’s currently wrapped in plastic (it wasn’t on Sunday, which was Day 1, but I’m not sure if it was hooked up to dispense soda).

The ice cream (technically froyo, I guess) machine has been operational every day this week and it’s been very popular.

Update, soda fountain machine operational but with a sign indicating it’s only for people who have the package. Saw people with souvenir cups as well as a crew member with a regular cup taking some soda.

  11. I am just wondering about the movies shown at the pool. Are they showing the same ones over and over? anything good? thanks! will be on ship next ms!

The 5-night had about 6 different movies - see the Compasses for details on times and titles. As for good or bad, they’ve had some good movies IMO, but it’s ultimately a matter of opinion :)

  12. Was just at Tropicante 2 days ago (Nov 21). Loved it. We reserved a table and lounger in advance, at no cost. You pay for food and drinks, and anything else you want to do (great beachside massages!).

Walked outside the port area to the taxi stand. $2 pp on the way to Mahahual, same on the way back to the port (you don’t have to walk back from the taxi stand, it will take you right into the port area but you must have your SeaPass ready to show security). You should get dropped off by the taxi at Calle Cherna when going to Tropicante. Then you just walk toward the beach and turn left.

DW and DD enjoyed the beach and water as well.

  13. Don't know if this is the best place to ask this question, but here goes. I called RCI to pay on our upcoming 10 night cruise and also pre-pay Gratuities. Our booking confirmation shows our booking charges in CAD, which I expected. Further down the document it reads $13.50 per person per day gratuity will be added to each guests Seapass account on a daily basis ..... BUT when The Client Service Rep calculated the total amount, the Grats are $82.06 more than I expected. When I questioned it she said was because the $13.50 per day quoted was USD (that isn't stated) and it had to be converted to CAD. Is this correct or should I call again?

As indicated by the other replies, the $13.50 amount is in USD. Furthermore the CAD conversion is correct based on the current rate RCI is using for gratuities so the $82.06 “difference” is also correct.

  14. Sorry folks, I’ve not had any success attempting to upload photos since last night. Strangely, tonight’s dessert menu was a repeat of the night before (confirmed with the waiter). I’ll catch up with photos when I’m able to.

There is a special Thanksgiving menu tomorrow night.

Today my family had a great day at Playa Mia. We were there last year with Liberty and really like how family-friendly it is.

  15. Used to be true. Not any more. It's now wrapped up in plastic and has tape all over it--same with the ice cream machine beside it.
