Sailed many-a-days in 2023 on IslandP. Never had any Crab Shack.

But Sabatinis had quite a few pop-ups lunches labeled as Alfredos.

There were also pub lunches in the Regular MDR -- speculation on Cruise Critic has been Pub Lunches will also become Casual Dininig

    Thank you very much🙂

Island has Crab Shack as a pop-up in the buffet at times..

Otherwise, no Vines, Planks, Steamers, O'Malley's, Salty Dog Gastropub, Alfredo's or Gigi's.

Exactly! Hence my question as to whether anyone who recently sailed on the Island was able to somehow get casual dining as a popup. Note that the Plus60 package includes 2 casual dining meals.

    Thanks again.

  3. Anybody with recent experience on the Island Princess....are there any "pop up" casual dining opportunities? We have the Plus60 package which entitles us to 2 casual dining meals. The Island does not have Alfredo's. etc etc etc. We sail on August 25th and I'm wondering if we will somehow get any casual dining benefit.

    Thanks!!

  4. We are Canadian, so not eligible for shipping. Shipping to Canada and UK "coming soon" although not in time for our cruise. Yesterday our status went from Green Lane to Blue Lane, and later in the day back to Green Lane. Today our status is back to Blue Lane. 🤨

Pick up at the port is really no hassle, but why does Princess need to make a big deal of Medallion Shipping to those of us who are not USA residents?? The Plus 60 package on my app continues to show "Medallion Shipping".

    Happy  Trails!

  5. My thoughts on island Princess, smaller and older than other Princess ships. I like the smaller with fewer passengers! We were on the Island last year and we will be on her again in August 2023. Excellent itinerary for both cruises. Iceland and Greenland last year. British Isles circle with Scotland and Wales this year.

    Cheers!

When you first registered on Princess.com, were you then in the US?

If you start as being in Canada with Princess, it will show prices in Canadian no matter where you are in the world.  I believe if you start in the US, it will always show you prices in USD.

This has not been my experience. It shows me the price in the currency of the country that I am in whenever I travel.

    Happy trails!

I,m in Canada, trying to get a cruise quote in Canadian on Princess site, anyone know how I can do so?

I'm in Canada also. Whenever I go to Princess website I get the prices in $CAD. Should work for you also when you are in Canada.

I am booked on the Discovery Princess to Alaska next year.

I am in one of those forward facing outside cabins and wondering how possible it will be to get a small table placed in my cabin so I can have room service breakfast by that large window.

If there isn't already one in your cabin, just ask your room steward to bring one.

    Happy cruising!

On our recent cruise we were initially in the Guaranteed category but received our Stateroom assignment approximately one week or so prior to Final Paymemt date.

Thanks very much for sharing your experience! Tomorrow is final payment (although we paid 💲💲 in full 2 weeks ago), so we will keep checking✔️

Also thanks to others for your reassurance that with a guarantee we will in fact be aboard🛳️

  10. What is the latest that you have received your stateroom number with a guarantee booking?

We are on the Insignia in September, and got an upgrade from a B2 balcony to an A2 concierge guarantee.

i know that the stateroom confirmation can come at any time up until departure, but could anyone share their experience with this please.

    thank you.

There are other ways to use the USD gift cards.  OBC is one and then pay for things.

Also, not sure why a cruise booked in USD would hurt - as long as you have USD bank account and credit card.

Yeah, a couple of things Steelers36: we do not have a US credit card. At the time of booking we had a complete dud of a TA, and she insisted that we bring her the final payment in $US. We are on the Sunshine Coast of BC and she is on Vancouver Island. You might be able to imagine how inconvenient that was with ferries and buses to contend with. I do not time travel, so I'm unable to now go back and do things differently. We now use another TA. But we would still not consider taking $2000.US in OBC!

Good that booking in $US works for you. So far we are happy with our new US based TA booking for us in $CAD.

Deck 5 the La Patisserie.  Coffee and pastries.  Basically it was the precursor to the IC.  Pretty much the same with a smaller food selection.  They have the pastries and deserts.

No La Patisserie on the Island. Sadly. However Good Spirits at Sea sometimes has a few small sandwiches or snacks.

Can I ask what cabin or location you were in and where you moved to.

Certainly. We had booked Deck 7, cabin PR723.  We were moved to Deck 10, cabin C537.

If you look at the Island deck plan you will see that PR723 has a "white area" on each side of it. It's a lovely cabin, great extended balcony BUT the white area contains what sound like industrial fans/blowers that operate 24/7 making sleep or balcony enjoyment impossible.

C537 is a premium balcony cabin with a lovely extended balcony, all good. When we booked our upcoming cruise this cabin was not available so we are booked in the adjacent C539.☺️

    hi all,

we are debating between a few cabins for a Vista cruise, one on deck 11 and one on deck 7 in a similar location to 7106/7109 on Riviera/Marina (last of narrow balcony rooms before extended balcony cabins, aft of ship).  i can't find any posts about these cabins (7106/7109), specifically with respect to the balcony and whether the view is obstructed, etc because of the location.  does anyone have experience with these cabins?  thank you! 🙂

We are currently on Marina in 7009, the first extended balcony port side at the front of the ship. The cabin beside us is the last of the narrow balconies. There is no obstruction to their view (although they can see us when we are near our railings)

I’m sure this configuration applies to the aft cabins also.
