We just got notified yesterday that our March 2025 Summit cruise just changed from Labadee to St. Maarten. So they are now changing through at least the first part of 2025.

St Maarten is lovely! Why didn’t they change ours to there instead of Nassau. Ugh.

  2. I just got an email from Celebrity advising us that they are switching out Labadee Haiti for Nassau. On our Apex sailing next February. Not thrilled about Nassau and we have been there many times.  But that’s not the point, we can always make it a ship day.  But does anyone know any further information about Labadee?  Given the unrest in Haiti, which I have not been following.  It’s more than 6 months from now, so it must not be good.

  3. Looking forward to the rest of your review. And I’m jealous! We were on Apex in February and loved it so much we booked another cruise on her same time, same stateroom but on starboard side rather than port.  We loved the entertainment so much! Saw a Tommy Green as well, he has so much energy! But we really loved the production shows! See them if you can.  Those young entertainers - the singers and dancers- are so talented! And the Apex Orchestra!  Wow! Can’t wait to go back!  Enjoy!

  4. Does anyone know how difficult this is?  Do they allow your deposit to transfer to a new reservation?

We have a Mediterranean cruise (our first one!)  October 2024.   We have been looking forward to this for almost a year.   And we just found out we are going to be Grandparents!  Also, our first.  Right at the exact same time.  Of course, right?  Yikes!

So of course, new grandparents want to be there for their first.  Does anyone have any advice about this sort of thing?

Thank you all!   This is a first for me!

  5. The slippers are basically nothing more than cardboard!  Better off taking your own light ones. The robes are for those folks that are of normal height, not vertically challenged like little ol’ me!  And they weigh a ton.  Nice idea, but definitely not “one size fits all”.

I agree with you all the way! We were also in a Celebrity Suite that exact same week. Throughout the Embarkation process, you felt like the welcoming staff was totally overjoyed that you were there!  It was a totally enjoyable experience, no stress whatsoever.

Enjoyed all the specialty dining.  And that we were able to use onboard credit, so technically did not cost us any extra.

And we booked the exact same week for next year while on board!  That's how much we loved it.  We did not give Luminae enough of a chance though, as we thought the menu was a bit weird.  We like more simple fare.  But next year we will.

As for the entertainment, we loved it all, the dancers, acrobats, the comedians, and especially the Apex Orchestra - what a talented group of musicians!

And I'm relieved to hear we were not the only ones who thought that Tina Turner dude was strange.  Did not have the nerve to walk out though, because so many folks were doing just that.

Can't wait to go back next February.  And yes, the staff was awesome!

Thanks for your review, and reliving the memories!

  7. We will be spending three nights in Rome post cruise from celebrity Equinox.  Celebrity is offering a shuttle but it drops off at some station, train I presume?  I’d rather take a cab or private driver, so as to be dropped off directly at the hotel.  Not interested in public trans at all.  Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

  8. Hi We are cruising on Apex soon and are staying in a Celebrity Suite.  Can the Butler or Concierge help with getting dinner reservations at the Specialty Restaurants? I booked the 3 night package awhile ago, but the App is saying there is nothing available.  Any restaurant, any time.  I find that hard to believe, but if so, I'm worried we won't get to go!

Is the App just acting funny? Or is this possibly true?

    Thanks all!

My understanding is if you hand them cash, they're supposed to pool it. If you hand them an envelope with their name on it, whatever is inside is theirs to keep.

I was wondering that too.   In days gone by, you’d have a few envelopes on the last day, and personally hand it to your stateroom attendant, or butler, in the case of a suite.  Or a waiter or maitre d if the service was exceptional.  Does anybody do that anymore? Leave cash dollars?  I’d really like to know, as I kind of like that whole thing.

How and when does one get the assigned boarding time? Is it when you pay off your final payment (so earlier is better?) or when you fill out online check in?

It's when you check in online.  Which is available 45 days prior to your cruise.  Or anytime thereafter.  the earlier the better I guess, so don't wait.  Yes ,they give you a choice, but a limited one.  When I did it, the times were 1 pm or 1:30 or 2 pm

  11. I'm wondering how Celebrity determines who gets early embarkation times and how closely they monitor the time you are designated.   Do you have to start Check in at the 45 day mark to get the earliest times?  And how closely do those at the port pay attention to your designated time? Does 1 pm really mean 1 pm?  Even for Suite guests?

  12. Thank you for that amazing cruise review! I feel like I was there with you.  The food pictures were so helpful too.  And your coordinated outfits! Perfect!  We were on the Equinox back in 2019 before Covid, and did the hot glass.  I treasure those pieces.  And were going to be cruising her again in Fall 2024, on the Mediterranean.  So excited!

Hope you get to go on more frequent cruises, but I sure know how it is with kids! Hubby and I are retired now (just).   And even though we did manage to go a bunch of times, we usually took the troops with us.   Now we’re going duo!

What a wonderful anniversary you had!
