  1. We've been cruising with and without our kids for 20 years. The youngest was 6 months old (he's now 12) his first cruise and we were stuck at sea 2 extra days due to a hurricane . No worries. The dining room staff offered to start pureeing food if anyone ran out. I brought everything with us including our own pack and play. We had no issues. I over-packed everything so we were well stocked. All three kids love to travel and especially cruise.

  2. I have tried for 3 days to get this mystery solved about the premium drink package price. My TA called RC again today. Apparently the 20% sale is only for Allure cruises more than 9 days. Since our cruise is 7 days, the 20% sale does not apply. Therefore the premium package is $47. I'm unhappy that I can not buy at $37.60. Guess I will wait to see if they have any other "sales" before we sail.

Right now my Allure cruise on May 15th is showing Premium package for &

$39. $39 X 7 days is $273 now add 18% gratuity ($49.14) equals $322.14 (shows in my cart) divide by 7 days gives you $46 per day.

That's 20% off regular package price of $49 ($57.62 with gratuities)

  3. Hello All,

I have a newbie question. We have booked all our shows online for our upcoming cruise on Allure of the Seas. All the shows the we reserved were free shows so no credit card was required for reservations. Do we get any confirmation email? Or should we just print the "My Calendar" section in the cruise planner?

Does anyone know when they have the up cake baking/decorating classes on the Allure of the Seas? When and where can we sign up for those classes?

    Thank you

Shows you booked will be listed on your cruise docs when you print them.

The Cupcake Decorating is listed in the Activities section of the Cruise Planner. You can pick how many people, day and time of session and put on your credit card.

  4. I'll ask this again as I didn't really get an answer from anyone on another post.

We have just one device we'll be using (laptop) and certainly we both won't be using it at the same time...So I just signed up for one device and under one of our names...any reason to have had to sign up for both of us

Nope. Just sign up one person.

  5. We've never used the internet services offered by RCI on prior cruises but this special has my interest.

Before I go any further.... does Adventure have VOOM ?

OK, I just saw on my cruise planner that the discount of 30% is being offered. So I surfed a bit. It said SURF, 2 devices, but it also said per person. price is $156.73 So... if I use my phone & the wife's iPad, Im good, correct?

If I add the DW (on theper person basis), it jumps to $235.06 So, as I understand this, 2 people, 2 devices is actually 4 devices. Correct?

I've also noticed that there are different types of packages as well...

VOOM SURF & STREAM & also VOOM SURF. I understand this as two different products being offered, correct?

    Thanks for any input!

I have been looking at it also for an upcoming cruise. From what I understand one of you purchase and you can use any two devices at same time. So your phone and your wife's ipad. Only one of you needs to purchase.

  6. Why do you say "Free Cruise" in quotations? Is it not really free? I've always wondered what kind of restrictions, if any, they put on those free cruises. Are there date restrictions? Restrictions on cruise length, destination, ship? Is there a dollar amount attached? Or is it truly a "take any cruise on any ship anywhere you want for free" kind of thing?

It's free to a point. You get an Inside or Outside Cabin. You can Upgrade for a fee. You pay port charges and taxes. Since we were on a Caribbean Cruise that is where we can go. There are Blackout dates -holiday weeks, July/August,

and no ships less than 1 year old. I think that was everything.

Don't get me wrong - it's great. We upgraded to a balcony and after all is said and done $800 including tips on Allure next month. I'm NOT complaining. It's just not completely free.

  7. I am sure I will get a lot of heat for saying this, but when did cruisers become so entitled? I just posted a review on the Anthem stating that the cruise was not perfect...no cruise is. However, the way people treated the cruise employees was appalling! You could not pay me enough to work on a cruise ship dealing with these people on a daily basis.

Some CC members have remarked that they felt a lot of movement on this cruise....what ship were they on? We had the calmest seas ever! If you do not want to feel the motion, don't take a cruise! Regarding the food and service, if your food is cold, kindly send it back like you would in any restaurant. If your dessert is too small, they will be happy to bring more. If someone does not smile when they hand you a towel, so what? Who knows what that person is personally dealing with!

The food was sometimes good and other times not so good. It happens. I am sure that the waiters were apprehensive, especially after the way some cruisers treated them. After 10 days on this ship the majority of waiters were wonderful, and went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. I witnessed a woman being really mean to her waiter after he tried everything possible to please her. She was just a nasty person.

These people depend on these jobs and most are working really hard. Please think twice before you open your mouth and start yelling at them. That could be your son or daughter, brother or sister, husband or wife trying to make a living.

This class of ship isn't for everyone. Royal has tried a whole new approach with dining, the type of shows, etc. If you don't like it, try another ship or cruise line. Do not take it out on the employees.

The old saying, "treat others like you want to be treated" should be posted on elevators on every cruise ship.

    Enough said.....

Hear Hear. It always amazes me how some people act. Unfortunately, It seems manners and common decency are a thing of the past.

  8. Hello Merion_Mom...Thanks very much for correcting my total misunderstanding of the Diamond Lounge. It does get a bit confusing.

So, here is my stupid question, based on the drink menu you posted. Are you saying that if there is a dedicated lounge for Diamond members, even if it's not a so called Concierge Lounge, we can order drinks, based off of that list of brands, and NOT, just wine and champagne, plus, still have the 3 drink voucher coupons to use??

For example, we were on the Explorer last Spring, and the Diamond event each evening was in that sports bar off the Viking Crown Lounge. They only would serve us wine or champagne.

Anyway, we have two cruises planned for April, and, after the first cruise is complete, we will become Diamond + members. I will have to read up to see what changes once we reach that level. Thanks very much again for your time and help.

    Dave

You have it right. We were just on Navigator in January. Could go to Diamond Lounge and get drinks and hors d'oeuvres (nice selection) and also get 3 drinks with card at other bars on the ship during the designated times. No one checks your card once you are in Diamond Lounge.

We also had My Time Dining and I had the Diamond Concierge call in a table reservation for me every night depending on what time we wanted to eat. And we never had to wait for a table.

  9. Hello Everyone,

I have just booked a 9-day Southern Caribbean cruise on the Navigator for March 17-26/17. We decided to book one of the Panoramic Ocean View Staterooms. The pictures I have found have been quite nice, but I was wondering about how much movement one feels in this area, especially for my husband, who minds the motion more than our kids or I. Has anyone stayed in these rooms? Thanks!

We just stayed in that room in January - Western Caribbean. We had no problems with it (but the 4 of us are seasoned cruisers and tend to get a kick out of rough seas) You do feel a gentle rocking. I noticed it most in bed at night. It might bother your husband, especially since there is no balcony where you can step out to get fresh air.

  10. The Diamond booze perk is standard throughout the fleet. Access to the Diamond Lounge. (Majesty doesn't have one; apparently the Empress won't have one; Jewel is getting hers very soon). Unlimited drinks inside the lounge during cocktail hours. 3 vouchers on SeaPass for use during the same hours - good in any bar except in restaurants or the Bionic Bar. (not on Allure)

    Thank you.

  11. We are on the May 15th sailing of Allure. Does anyone know the current discounts being given for Diamond Members? Also, when we were on Navigator in January they loaded drink vouchers on our Sea Pass Card for cocktail hours since the Diamond Lounge was crowded. Is this also the case on Allure?

    Thanks.
