  1. Slight delay leaving i think because we took so long to finish bunkering but we are indeed on the way now.
  2. I spy some Halloween decorations. Also we have a new deli menu, but it's not the one John posted. Seems to be the one that got people upset about no fries. Chopsticks is moved to the port side. Also a much louder crowd, as to be expected but will take some getting used to.
  3. Going through customs now. I see the problem, facial recognition is not being used they are doing it old school and i suspect they are not staffed for that. Also boarding has not begun, not sure why people just make things up to cause people to get worked up. The passenger must be a news reporter.
  4. Boarding has begun and we are still in the holding tank. It's not carnivals fault but this is very frustrating.
  5. Down to the last 3 people. But they said it will be a while before we can be processed because the terminal is full. I heard the shops are being redone today. They had the windows blacked out yesterday and I suspect it will be stocked for the Caribbean. It had nothing really in Alaska. I also just heard the tables are being replaced this cruise so they can remove the tablecloths. I will report back if I find the food tastes any different or if my experience is impacted in any way. Also hoping maybe the Halloween decorations will go up today.
  6. Down to the last 8 people. My card is downgraded to platinum again. My mom is blue.....apparently her name was never added to the booking and I didn't checkin since I am b2b so her card just says TBA. Add that to the list of ways my former PVP messed this booking up.
  7. Looks like we are going to be here a while. They just called luggage tag 12 and I hear the line to get off is still a madhouse. I wonder what the holdup is. I feel bad for those getting on today. It's only a 2 day cruise so every minute counts.
  8. 10:08 and we are still waiting on zero count. Get off the ship people. I did use this time on cell service to get my photos caught up so i can finish Alaska and Panama Canal.
  9. Enjoyed a nice breakfast this morning of avocado toast. Waiting in the room for a couple more minutes then we meet in the theater at 9 for our b2b processing.
  10. Good morning from Miami. I am sad to learn the deli menu is tje latest victim of cutbacks. Even sadder because this round included a number of my favorites. I try really hard not to be "that guy" but it's getting to be a lot going away and fast. Anyway, I am excited to try a few new sandwiches and will give those a try this week.
  11. That's gonna do it for me tonight. Next up, Miami for turn around day.
  12. My appetizers were Michigan pasty and Buffalo cauliflower. For my main I ordered the salmon. Dessert was the chocolate and cheese brownie and cappuccino pie. Everything was good and they sang the sad last night song but I smiled on the inside because I have 10 more days.
  13. Tonight's dinner menu is the extra menu they throw in on 8 day cruises. My mom loves this menu for the cherry soup. Lido menu.
  14. Normally it's always a kid. But this cruise has almost no kids on it lol.
  15. After lunch I checked out celebrity heads in the theater. It was very funny 😄. I will have to look for that again. Back to the room now. I've spent most of my day cruise shopping. My friend wants to do a Panama Canal cruise and I think that's a great idea.
  16. For my starter I had the California roll. This was maybe a step below a nice sushi place, but better than supermarket sushi. A nice tasty treat and I can't recall the last time I saw free sushi on a cruise. For mains I had the spaghetti zia teresa and pan fried filet of swai nicoise. These were both very good. Finishing off a great meal were two great desserts. I had the ice coupe black forest and chocolate gateau.
  17. I had a very lovely lunch today in the MDR. I've really enjoyed these new menus especially considering how far back the bunch menu has been reduced. A nice wake view. Lunch menu.
  18. I slept a blissful 10 hours last night. That means tonight will be a challenge to sleep but I'll pay that toll when I get to it. Schedule looks light today. I have to do vifp treasure hunt today so that will fill up part of my afternoon 😁
  19. It's been a hard day of relaxing all day so I'm going to bed. One last sea day before Spirit is back on east coast.
  20. I didn't grab tonight's menu since it is the same as the second formal night menu from last cruise. I did get the me u for Lido. For my starter I got the crab cake. For mains I got the teriyaki salmon and the Greek spinach pie. For dessert I had the grand mariner soufflé. They poured the sauce on which I wasn't expecting so you can't see the soufflé. Dinner was good again tonight. I haven't tried the greek pie in some time because I didn't like it but I enjoyed it tonight so I may need to work it into the rotation.
  21. They had a handful of art classes early on on the sea days. They were very popular and seemed to draw a huge line. I will keep an eye out on the 8 day for exact times. I couldn't tell you about the desserts but none have had a bad taste to me, so I would guess not artificial sweetener but I could be wrong.
  22. Youngest platinum/diamond onboard was 33. She was platinum. I'm 34, I wonder if I'm the youngest diamond onboard? Heard there were almost 1200 total, they had two parties. Checked in for dinner early. It's formal night so already a bit of a wait.
