I think the reason I've not noticed the edit button before is because it seems to be only available for a short while, then vanishes
-
Ignore that editing question.... I just saw the edit button
-
Yes we were on the epic.
Having a low boredom threshold if Priscilla and burn the Floor were still on, it would stop me booking, because while they were both fab, I wouldn't want to see them again so soon.
Btw I didn't know you could edit a post. How do you do that please?
-
Thanks sandancer
Would you be able to go to the TA cruises forum and via my recent review ( Trickster9) send me a pm with that agents name, if that's not against the rules.
-
On our recent cruise, I thought the main shows in the theatre were great (as we're all the other ones in the smaller venues)
We'd like to sail on her again, but wondered when new productions were likely to be produced
Thanks
-
I should add that we are uk based, if that makes a difference.

From time to time I read the The Epic can be cheap ro sail on. Being short of arm and deep of pocket, this interests me. ( just kiddin' but always on the lookout for a bargain)
Where would I go to find these cheap fares?
Thanks

I love the epic and have been on it 5 times. The pool area is great. It is spacious and open. There are plenty of sunbeds all over the different levels. I don't mind the bathroom setup. We are comfortable with knowing what happens in the bathroom happens. The balconys are slightly bigger than the away class shops and we try to get rooms on the hump so to get a slightly bigger balcony

What is The Hump please?
My Missus gets one when I missbehave

Squish. We used the filled up bottles in our cabin for when we woke up parched in the night and also we took one ashore on our excursions. A glass of water was provided at dinner but when we were on deck we didn't drink water..... Concentrated on alcohol.

Nice one Wonky

Some of the the reviews complain about the cost of bottled water. At $7 it is a rip off, but IMHO there is no need to buy it. Each morning we took two sturdy plastic bottles ( which we won on the last cruise) up to breakfast and filled them with ice/water ( via a glass of course) When we breakfasted in taste we just gave the bottle to the waiter. Sorted.

Thanks for all your help

Thanks. I didn't realise the sofa converted into a bed.
The two of us didn't mind the bathroom set up at all. Even the little sink was ok. The arrangement means when one person is using one of the items the other one can use the other.
Are the studios all inside cabins?

What sort of performance is Siglo. Last time we were on the Epic we couldn't even get into the Cavern. It was packed out every night.

Siglo are a four piece band. Drums, bass, keys, guitar. Brilliant musos. They all sing. The guitarist Randy is exceptional. Last week they were in The Cavern most nights. We always got a seat no problem. They play a wide range from 1950s to present day.

I did it on my PC this afternoon.
It hasn't appeared yet.
Is there a delay while the mods check it over?
-
On our recent cruise it was just me and DW. We had an inside cabin.
Next time we would like a balcony one and would like to take our daughter (mid 40s).
What would our options be? We would be happy to share a cabin if that is possible.
Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to post this excellent review Mark.
We were on the same cruise, except that we boarded when you reached Civitecchia.
We agree with everything you said and can't understand the poor reviews.
We didn't know about the quiet area up the stairs from deck 17 front so that will have to wait till next time.
-
Some people have complained about the restaurant service on the Epic.
Have a look at this.....
-
I forgot to mention the on board activities.
There seemed to be quite a lot going on, but we only participated in the quizzes. Did quite well in the trivia and music ones. In the cavern DW had retired to cabin early and I fell in with a group of Americans. The were from near Birmingham,Alabama, which is named after the city in uk where I was born. They were a lot of fun. We teamed up for the spot the rock tune quiz. Siglo played snippets of songs. I did quite well on the 60s stuff and they were great on the later ones.We won scoring 57 out of 60. I got a t shirt, pen and key ring.
I also was the shuffle board champion on deck 7. To be fair out of 4000 on board, I was the only one daft enough to turn up, so it was a walk over. Another t shirt to add to my collection

Squish..... Yes I saw the other review about the mushroom/snail incident and wondered if it was connected the travelling journalists.
If you want a laugh about incidents in restaurants Google Monty Python dirty fork you tube. It's hilarious.

Fire busker.... Yes it was great to get away from the internet for a while. I spend far too much time on it. Well done on reaching your twentieth ani. I just made it before the unpleasantness. After a short break I dried again and should make the silver with a bit of luck.
What itinerary are you on in Feb. Wherever it is you'll have a great time
-
I don't know why travelling journalist posted such a hateful review, but if that's what he/she thought, they are entitled to their opinion.
Btw I have now posted about what we did on our jaunts ashore. The reviews are in the TA travel forums for Livorno, Cannes, Marsailles, Barcelona and Naples.
Each one is entitled... "we came to Livorno etc etc."
They are pretty boring I'm afraid!
-
I forgot to mention the group Siglo who play in The Cavern most nights.
They were brilliant
Key board , drums, bass and guitar. All were excellent musos and singers from the Philippines.
Randy, their lead guitarist was a revelation. But he didn't come the I'm a star thing and was very modest.
Juan Carmello who played piano and sang in Shakers was very talented. I asked if he could do "piano man". He whipped out his harp and did it no problem.
Alex in Maltings was a an excellent guitarist. I felt sorry for him as people just passed him by, like the clarinet player in Joni Mitchels "For Free" off ladies of the canyon. I asked him for Rodrigo's Concerto de Aranjuez. No problem he said. Then I asked for " Romance" which he rattled off. Top player.
For a music lover, The Epic is great.

Thanks Kieth.
You were one of the many that gave me great help.
When are you going next?
Just off the Epic
in Norwegian Cruise Line

That price sounds excellent.
