  1. Great deal. If NCL officially cancels my Israel/Egypt cruise I’ll jump ship. Thanks!
  2. Try this one: #36291 7 Aug 5 Honolulu, Oahu, HI Honolulu, Oahu, HI Norwegian / Pride of America 4 $949 $949 0% #28261 10 Aug 4 Trieste, Italy Trieste, Italy Norwegian / Norwegian Gem 4.5 $1,199 $1,199 0% No Supplement! #17710 11 Aug 6 Athens (Piraeus), Greece Athens (Piraeus), Greece Norwegian / Norwegian Jade 4.5 $1,249 $1,249 0% Use a cruise next and a 10% coupon for an amazing deal with any of those deals in August. Not everyone got the 10% off in their account. Not sure who did, but I did. The mailing came in the mail yesterday.
  3. NCL still has zero solo supplement on many sailings. That said, i just received a promo in the mail for 10% off any 7 day or longer cruise. I logged in to look at my Cruise Next certs and there is also a 10% Off Discount Future Cruise Credit is listed in the list. My guess is that it also stacks with a Cruise Next cert. Expires 8/15 and cruise must be before 3/31/24. Good luck!
  4. I'm not sure if you have noticed, but I see $279 for 7 days on NCL Spirit or NCL Jewel to Alaska in July solo. If you use a cruisenext with that, it means you pay $29 more plus taxes and port fees and gratuities. Comes to $308 plus gratuities when I use a cruisenext for sailaway inside cabin. You can get Free at Sea for $40 more plus gratuities. Good luck!
  5. I don't consider 75% low but you might. Cunard has a 75% supplement in asia at the moment. Silversea is 25% Ponant, Seaborn, Oceana are 0% extra for solos. Holland America is 60% MSC is 60% It can be different depending on the specific cruise but that is what I just saw. I'm not interested at the current price point but you may be. I hope this helps.
  6. Just a reminder that the MSC solo deal expires end of this month in case you are looking for zero supplement with them.
  7. I dont think they turn away anyone dressed in jeans and T shirts even on formal nights. They would probably turn away bathing suits.
  8. Fortunately this time VAu no hassle on weight of Carry on or my laptop backpack. Much ado about nothing. Sydney Airport was a mob scene. (Especially compared to June 2020 during covid) If you fly into Sydney international find a short line at the automated machine (the first machines you come to) and check into immigration with your passport. Get a little card. The lines get longer the closer you get to immigration. once you get the card you can skip the remaining lines except the one that takes your picture. Also after baggage claim , don't wait in the long lines to exit. Go to the far left exit (green light on the ceiling) for nothing to declare. It will save you a half hour of waiting.
  9. The new normal is jumping through a lot of hoops. But soon we will be cruising. Hopefully I printed everything that needs to be printed. I plan to take a covid test once I get to my hotel in Brisbane. Hoping Virgin Australia is somewhat lenient on carry on. They were quite unreasonable last time so I expect to spend $100 to check my carry on. I'm just keeping the end in sight... less than 2 days to cruise!
  10. Wifi definitely goes out when we are near the equator. However, I havent ever had a cruise company do it on a per day discounted rate before. That said, I will buy it because it is nice to stay in touch. I know from experience to tell folks at home how to track the ship position and that there will be days they can't reach me.
  11. That said some of the islands will welcome AUD versus USD at least that was rhe case in 2019.
  12. On my previous cruise we took a picture of the test results beside our passport and something with a time date like a cell phone. That said, from what I read on Carnival, we just need to sign something saying we took a test within 24 hours and it was negative.
  13. Just got an email from Carnival with the standard Covid information about vaccine requirements and required pre-testing... no changes there.... BUT then it talks about required insurance and that Vacation Protection can be added up to 14 days pre-cruise AND meets the requirements to cruise (at $109)... ALSO this little nugget: "We have been actively working with our satellite internet providers to ensure adequate bandwidth is available during the voyage. However, because global satellite providers limit coverage to ocean regions, there may be instances when connectivity is slow or interrupted. Please keep this in mind as you make plans to communicate with friends and family. As a result, we will automatically refund all pre-purchased Wi-Fi packages to the original form of payment. The social, value, and premium plans will still be available for purchase on board at the discounted pre-cruise price, but only on a day-to-day basis." I have done a South Pacific cruise before and there were definitely days around the equator where we lost wifi for a day or so. That said, they didn't ever go to this extreme. I think this is favorable to us as passengers since we get the discounted rate but it doesn't leave me warm and fuzzy.
  14. Heads up! As a thriftycruiser myself, I paid my gratuities ahead of time for this cruise. They go up $1.50 per day on April 1 to $16. If you prepay now it is $14.50 for a savings of $33.
  15. That is a good deal for 22 days.. much better price than the wifi
  16. Thermal suite pass starting at $235. It looks like I can order it but I want an unlimited wifi package.
  17. Did yo6 check in? Im wondering if that is when it diaappeared.
  18. This is dependent on your passport. If you have a US Passport, you will need an Australian ETA visa which costs $20aud (around $14) and just preregisters your US Passport with Australia.
  19. Interesting... they told me the spa was also prohibited by Australian law... but I agree, it is now showing as available for purchase.
  20. Quick question: did anyone prebuy the wifi package? It is no longer on the website and Carnival is telling me I can't buy it ahead of time and will have to buy it on board. I spent an hour on the phone wasting a lot of time. The answer they give me is that you can't prebuy Internet on an Australian cruise. Has anyone else had this experience?
  21. Just checked in. Does anyone else notice that it has us getting to Seattle on May 5 instead of May 4. I double checked the itinerary on Carnival's own site and it says May 4. I just put the correct flight info for May 5 and will sort it out on board later if it is an issue. I really just plan to enjoy the cruise and the islands as we get there.... just a couple weeks before we cruise!
  22. Completely up to you how formal you want to be. Dress shirt and slacks or nice jeans are fine. I have seen hawaiian shirts and jeans in the dining room. I have seen shorts and a T shirt and sandals turned away from the dining room.
