  1. Yes for a legit drinker it is worth it. I came very close to the 15 limit everyday last time I got it and also had my wife order me stuff on some days since she would only get like 5-6 drinks in a day. Side note on that tho is I have never had a hangover in my life, I'm up and ready to go with 6-7 hours of sleep even if I get pretty drunk. But anyways I think it is always worth it to me. If I didn't have Cheers than I wouldn't be able to enjoy drinking as I always add it up and would stick to the cheaper beers. With cheers I can experiment with different stuff or get the cocktails, which are really good, and not worry about the bill because I've already paid for it.

  2. I cruised around this time two years ago. They showed primarily NBA playoffs. Since both NHL and NBA do their playoffs at the same time and NBA is a bigger draw they will usually show that. They did show some NHL though. But as some have said they lost some networks so no clue now.

Sidenote, it was a cruise out of Baltimore. Not a lot of East coast teams in the nba playoffs that year with Boston just barely making the lower seed so maybe not a lot of interest, while I know boston made the nhl playoffs with as an actual good team. While I was watching the nba in the sports bar, every couple mins some people would come in and be like you guys showing hockey? Bartender would be like no, it's nba right now. Almost every time that person would answer with 'who even likes the nba'. I know if you're a hockey fan you are usuually a die hard but dang gotta realize your sport is 4th in the US so normally basketball will trump it.

  3. I think it's a good deal. I'm buying it so my daughter can act grown up and order drinks. She will think that's awesome. Plus she loves pop and I don't let her drink it that much at home so it will be a good treat for her. I think it cost $25 for her, that's nothing compared to everything else I spent on this cruise.

  4. It could be $20 and I wouldn't buy it so there is no value in FTTF for some people. But they aren't trying to get me to buy it, they want the people who don't want to wait at all and those people will happily shell out $20-50 more to do it. So you have to decide if the value is still there. I doubt it will ever go back down as it will most likely still sell out.

  5. I think Royal has a kids sail free promotion going this week. It may be worth checking their sailings as well.

I recently booked a cruise and was looking into Royal to see if I could find something different. They unfortunately have turned almost all their 5 day cruises into Havana cruises as far as I could see and I have zero interest in going to Cuba.

  6. Unless it was my child I would never fly to a wedding. I have a million things I would rather spend my money on. Plus if they have 400 guests they won't miss you, believe that. At my sisters wedding I barely talked to her except to get some pictures at the church, just too many people for them to interact with.

  7. When I was in the Army we would get 3 day weekends quite a bit. One Monday we had off my friend told me he got up, got ready and headed over to the company area. Then he noticed nobody was there and realized we were off that day. At least he lived in the barracks and it was a 5 min walk back to his bed. Still laughed my ass off at him.

  8. I think Carnival could cut the “sharing” of drink packages down by offering a middle package which includes all drinks except alcoholic drinks. RC has one and its great. I hear it mentioned here too many times that people have sand plan to share their packages with their kids. Some people would share no matter what but they could entice some to do the right thing with this offering.

Yep this exactly. I am getting my kid bottomless bubbles this upcoming cruise, me and wife are getting cheers, but she also likes powerades and other stuff they have and doesn't just want soda the whole time. I would buy her a better plan if they had one. So she will 100% be getting some powerades and vitamin waters from me cause I always get one or the other while the wife stops to get coffee.

  9. I'm honestly curious if anybody has gotten caught sharing. Its very difficult to think that they have the manpower to be able to monitor this. Or is it basically up to the bartender to make sure its sold to the correct person.

I read something on here a while back where some women were asked to stop sharing but they weren't using any discretion. Like they were handing it to the other woman AT THE BAR. Of course if you keep doing that they will talk to you about sharing. But if you buy a drink and simply walk 20 feet or so and hand it off they aren't going to catch it and aren't trying to.

  10. It happens because posters are chastised about not searching the boards before asking a question or for starting a new thread when there has been a thread in the past about the topic.

I wish I could upvote this. Most of the boards I go to have those people that always comment with the 'just use the search' reply. Then this happens because someone did do that and a comment got them heated so they reply necroing a long dead thread. Oh well I don't imagine a lot of people actually remember 4 year old threads so it's still good reading.

  11. Amazingly enough I dont mind these muster drills because they are a few hours into the cruise and I have usually had a few drinks, so I'm feeling pretty good. But my wife and young daughter were in bad shape at one of them. One of the carnival people simply told them to go inside somewhere because they both looked like they were going to pass out (we had just driven 20+ hours so we hadn't really had a chance to rest). I would simply talk to one of the people and tell them you are feeling woozy is there anyway you can go inside for the muster drill. If that doesn't work just try to stay at the front so you aren't boxed in and get no breeze, plus the employees can then see you if you start to look like you're going to fall down.

  12. After our last cruise with our then 5 year old daughter, my wife turned and said 'oh we should take her on a Disney cruise sometime". I priced it out so I could show her how insanely overpriced it would be. Showed it to her and she said nevermind that as we could take 3-4 Carnival cruises at the same price. You're paying to cruise with Disney characters it's literally that simple and Disney knows they can still get people to cruise because they are Disney so that's why they have high prices.

  13. If they can't cruise due to weather they will have to refund your full money. It's like any other business in the US. If they can't provide the service then they refund you. Anything else they can change though as you did sign their contract by purchasing tickets. They can cut a day from the cruise or add a day if they can't get into port. But they can't take your money if they don't actually provide that cruise.

  14. Well right now I'll say you're going to pack too many clothes. I think all people do that. The only other thing I do to pack is imagine what I'll need for my excursion days or go through a day in my head to figure out anything I need to bring. As a guy I used 2 bathing suits but I wear board short type bathing suits so they dried super fast.

  15. Unless you go crazy with food you won't gain 10 pounds. I ate like crazy, latenight pizza and plenty of alcohol and I think I gained 3 pounds but it was a 7 day cruise. I did elliptical in the gym every day for like 40 mins and my phone said I walked like 1-3 miles just walking around the ship. On shore days that went up to 5+ miles for the day.

There are classes but I think they do have a price unfortunately.

  16. Yea in miami they use the big charter buses and wait till they're full to go. I only used it once and me and wife were last ones on so we went right after we went on. I imagine it only takes 10-20 mins to fill em up with everybody debarking.

  17. Have to echo the same thing. Always use a credit card. My credit card has had fraudulent charges on it but it's from someone stealing it online or something, was someone in china buying video games. Easy to rectify though and most have fraud protection.

Most the people in the touristy areas don't want to steal your card as they want the business/good online reviews. Your daughter just ran into the 1% chance of a bad person working there and he stole the card, can happen anywhere.

  18. I totally agree! I know some people complain about the air! To be honest I am easy to please. But my husband on the other hand can be a little harder to please! He is the guy that wouldn't step foot in a Golden Corral and i'm like hey they make good rolls!

I would say that's really the only reason I am worried. He really did not want to go on a cruise and I finally got him to agree on giving it a chance (pretty sure he's going to love it) he keeps referencing the Titanic if that tells you anything....LOL!!!

I just want to make sure he doesn't have anything "major" to complain about so he doesn't refuse to go on another cruise ;p

I'll just keep him happy with the Cheers package so he cant complain :beer-mug::tropical-drink::cocktail:

Umm Carnival food, like the lunch buffet that you're going to have to eat, is comparable to Golden Corral and Golden Corral's would be better as they actually bring in fresh food every morning.. the ship can't do that. That being said I cruised my first cruise back in 2010 and I cruised in 2016, can't say the food was any different on Carnival but I don't go into the dining room I just use the buffet.

  19. scant outfits and bathing suits are now. Like I can't go to a pool or enjoy a day on the beach without seeing some thong bathing suits and boobs hanging out of tops (as this is the new 'style').

See I'm a guy and I enjoy this, shhh don't tell my wife. But even I thought the same thing this past cruise. Women with thongs and itty bitty tops while 12 year old boys walk by them or share the same pool cause they're hanging out by the main pool. I mean they have the right to enjoy their vacation but it seems so awkward to me to be so not covered up around children.
