  1. In my experience, the drink package has been more expensive (usually 20% more) on board for my last two sailings. I think it's a safe bet to book ahead of time with the discount.

I'm not as familiar with excursion prices in the cruise planner versus on board. I'd still say book now. If you find they are less expensive on the ship I think you could cancel them and then re-book at the lower price on board anyway. At least that way you'd be sure you get the excursions and times you want by booking ahead.

  2. I would avoid Adrenaline beach to swim as it is very, very rocky- at least it was last time I went. Big mistake setting up at the first beach we saw, haha. It is a nice spot to sit and watch the zipline if you're not getting in the water though. It also had volleyball and basketball courts off on the side if you're looking for those types of activities. I think my favorite is Columbus Cove. Soft sand and not rocky. Food, drinks, bathrooms are close by. Barefoot beach is also good if you're in a suite.

I'm trying Nellie's beach for the first time on my upcoming cruise, so I'm hoping that's a good one, too! I'm interested to see other's opinions.

  3. Hi all-

I booked a cabana at Nellie's beach for the first time. It says it comes with 2 floating beach mats but we will have 6 people. At barefoot beach they provided a beach mat for each person in the cabana, but I'm guessing Nellie's may be different?

Can anyone confirm that they only provide 2 and if you have to purchase more are they $20 each (same as on the excursion page)?

  4. Says gratuity is included in the $7.95 and anymore is at the discretion of the cruiser. So if you tipped $3 to $4 bucks before then its only another $3 or $4 now for what seems to be a nicer lunch and dinner menu as long as the $7.95 is per order and not per pp. I rarely used room service on my previous cruises so no big deal to me. Happy cruising guys, or not

Tipping was always at the discretion of the cruiser. I'd wonder if the "gratuity included" they refer to is just the typical portion of the normal daily gratuity charge and not from the extra $7.95.

  5. It's not specifically oldies, but there's a piano player at Schooner bar each night that is great and takes requests. Everyone sings along and it's really a good time. He did a great mix of everything when I was there and a lot of good classics. They do have theme nights for music at schooner bar and globe and atlas pub some nights too. Both great live music options!

  6. I do give them a tip, plus the chocolate. I don't just give the chocolate. And yes, they do like it! For them to buy chocolate, it is very expensive. If they didn't want it, they wouldn't have to take it. I hand it out to a lot of the crew. Even if they throw it away, it makes me feel good handing it out. And yes, I'd love for someone to give me chocolate!

I would love for someone to give me chocolate, too! I think it's a really cute idea to give it out with your tips :)

  7. I got my cabin assignments much earlier than I expected for July 16 Oasis sailing! My family booked three XN Guarantees and got the rooms below, all C2 Central Park Balconies:

    10205

    10251

    10253

I feel like we really lucked out getting two cabins right next to each other and one just down the hall on a guarantee booking! I've heard they try to keep linked reservations close if possible, but still went in expecting we could be far apart.

I've been searching forums the majority of the day because I'm so excited, but do have a few questions.

    1. Do you think the muster stations could be the same for all rooms? Not sure if 10205 is too far away.

    2. Anyone know if 10251/53 will be able to hear the live music from their balconies? I know it's usually on the other end of the park.

    3. I'm totally happy with assignments (plus there aren't many C2s showing available even if I weren't ) but does anyone have any experience in or around these cabins or with deck 10 in this category? Excited to hear any input.

  8. To elaborate on what has been said, answers to standard questions are:

No, you can not trade CP EDP perks for Boardwalk perks or vice-versa.

No, there is no reduction in price to upgrade the Boardwalk soda package for a more expensive beverage package.

The Boardwalk soda plan goes to passengers 1 & 2 and cannot be transferred to passengers 3 & 4 if you have that many in cabin. If you have adults who want a booze package and have kids who want the sodas plan accordingly.

The Boardwalk meal for up to 4 at Johnny Rockets applies only to passengers in the cabin. We had a friend in a Boardwalk cabin solo - she got a meal for one ONLY.

As with anything on RCI there may be variations in application of rules.

We had a Central Park balcony in Jan-Feb 2017 on Oasis, got our CP perk of a bottle of wine without asking and enjoyed our Giovanni lunch. No complaints from me.

Great extra info! I booked because it was such a good price for the guarantee and didn't even remember the eat drink play promo until now so I'm excited for either. Now I just need cabin assignments!

Glad to hear you liked the Central Park balcony and perks. This will be my first time staying in a neighborhood room and I'm looking forward to trying it. Have been reading the reviews of each and pros/cons and not sure which I'm hoping for at this point. Just excited to be going!

  9. I tried doing an "Eat Drink Play" search and couldn't find the answer, so my apologies if this has already been answered before.

I have three XN Guarantee cabins booked for a July 2017 sailing on Oasis. No cabin assignment yet.

I'm wondering if the "Eat Drink Play" promotion will be applied to my cabins once assignments in Central Park or Boardwalk are made or if this only applies to non-guarantee bookings. I'm thinking it may not apply, but if anyone knows I'd appreciate it!

  10. Looking for some advice from anyone who has experience with cabanas at Barefoot and Nellie's beaches.

I have done the cabanas at Barefoot Beach in the past but on our upcoming cruise no one is staying in a suite so I'm looking into Nellie's. I'm still grappling with the price increase on cabanas since I last booked one- but aside from that I am also wondering if there is a big difference between the experience at Barefoot versus Nellie's. From what I can see in past threads the main difference is private versus public beach and the upgraded lunch.

Any other major differences? Do they still provide you with floating mats for each person? Any input is appreciated!

  11. Very dishonest and misleading of RCCL to advertise 20% off when it is really about 10% off. Is it worth calling to try and get the price down to $323.79? Has anyone had luck doing that?

I say trying never hurts, but I've had no luck. I was told prices are going up to $55/day off season and $59/day during summer for the premium package. I'm on Oasis June 11 and mine is showing $47/day at 20% off. I'm guessing they'll tell you your regular price is now $55/day and $44/day at 20% off. Plenty of people seem to still show $49 as the regular price though and their very recently updated pdf shows this too. It's really frustrating. Let us know if you call and get any different info.
