  1. Hi Loved your review! Had a few questions about the drink package, was there any issues with getting drinks? Did you just show your sea pass and was that it? Can you order any mixed drink off there menus with no extra charge? Do you by chance have any pics of the drink menus? YouTube has some from a few years back but don't know how much they have changed ;)

I do not have any pics, I am sorry. They have a different menu at every bar but they make basically every drink at each one anyways, just ask for what you want. They have to take and swipe your card as if they are charging you bjt they will give you a receipt for zero dollars, pretty easy process. You are technically only allowed a max at $11 drink for free and then your supposed to pay the difference but my experience was that they found a way to get the drink included in your package because I never paid the extra $$$.

  2. The Final Review!!!

I am going to take a short period of time to just give my final thoughts on our entire cruise and specific parts.

The Ship- To no one’s surprise this ship was absolutely huge. For a ship this size it is incredible how immaculate they keep it presentation wise. The colors in the royal promenade are amazing and the experience on the boardwalk and in central park are like nothing else you can find on a ship. I have heard many people say that this ship is laid out so well that it really doesn’t feel as big as it is but I am not sure that I agree. Not that it is laid out poorly because we never came across that as a problem but there is no denying how big this ship is. It took significantly longer for me to get the layout of the ship down than on previous ships but at no point during the cruise did we ever feel like there was anywhere near the number of people on board that really were there. Although it is so large there were quite a few times that we felt the ship rocking. Specifically, on day one with nine foot waves we felt it more so than any other day but sparingly through the week we felt movement. None of which caused any seasickness to anyone we heard from but there was certainly more movement than I ever expected. There was more things on this ship for us to do than we could fit in over a week. I really would have like water slides on board, that is one of my only faults to this megaship.

    Final Grade: A

The Food- I have cruises as my top vacation because of the high quality food that you receive on board. My expectations are now very high for my week on board. The MDR was a disappointment overall. The new menu had very little that we just had to have which is a surprise. The food was good, better than we have at home at almost any restaurant, but definitely not what I have come to expect. Giovanni’s was absolutely fantastic and If my Final Grade was based on this alone I would have to come up with a new letter in the alphabet. Izumi was good but exactly what I could get at home. 150 Central park was okay but the experience there was terrible so it is a good thing that the Final Grade isn’t on this alone. I thoroughly enjoyed Sabor while Wifey did not, and the same goes for Johnny Rockets but mainly because she ordered the chicken instead of a burge. Breakfast at the Windjammer far exceeded my expectations. Central Park roast beef was good and the pizza at Sorento’s was better than expected due to CC saying it would be so bad. I enjoyed my Boardwalk Dogs visit and I wish I had come back. Room Service food (besides breakfast, we avoided this due to terrible reviews) was also good, nothing that puts it over the top but to be honest, anytime I am in bed and have food delivered to me I am a happy camper.

    Final Grade: B

The Service- Our stateroom attendant, Puncho, took care of our room perfectly fine. He was not a personable attendant like we have had in the past but he took care of his duties to perfection. Our MDR servers were both nice and took care of us fine but once again, never did anything to put our experience over the top. The bartender that we constantly went back to over and over again was Ramesh in the Schooner Bar and he alone made our experience a great one daily. He was very personable and I wish there were more staff members like him. Aside from Ramesh the staff on board left a lot to be desired, we were met with nice people, but nothing that made me feel like I have on my previous cruises. I am going to try and not let the service at 150 Central Park take complete control of the Final Grade.

    Final Grade: C

The Balcony Cabin- This was our first Balcony cabin and I will always remember this one. We have never spent much time in our cabin but that changed a little on this one because of the perks of a Balcony. Additionally it was a slightly bigger room but the layout with the balcony is what made it really feel bigger. The bathroom was similar to what we had on any other cruise which met our needs but nothing more. Room location was not directly next to any elevators so that was a little disappointing. The extra $100 it cost for us to upgrade to this was one of the best deals of my life lol.

    Final Grade: A-

The Itinerary- We did not pick this cruise for the itinerary, we picked it for the deal and the ship. The only port that we were intrigued about was Cozumel. We would much rather prefer a Eastern Caribbean itinerary but we came out pleasantly surprised with our ports when it was said and done.

    Final Grade: B-

Nassau, Bahamas- There is nothing particularly spectacular about Nassau. This is my only repeat port, and I am sure I will spend many more port days here moving forward because it is incredibly common. I would never make a trip outside of a cruise to this port. The water appeared nice, the weather was okay and the port within walking distance was just fine. We had a good experience here because we enjoyed our excursion enough.

    Final Grade: C+

Costa Maya, Mexico- This port was different than any I had ever been at. I do not know if this is a newer port but I can tell you that it feels as though it is. The port area was really cool, it had a great welcome party and a neat pool/restaurant area unlike anything I have seen at any port and it was free to swim. The port area was pretty small so to get to anything other than our adventure park it seemed to be a long drive. The shop area was small enough that you could walk through quickly. I came out of the port day having enjoyed the port more so than expected but there is so little to do that you would not want to return too often.

    Final Grade: B

Cozumel, Mexico- I am not a big shopper so the large shop area is not something I desire. It seems as though most people come to Cozumel for one of the many all-inclusive resorts and Mr. Sancho’s was well worth the cost. The water was very warm and the weather was the best we had on the entire vacation. It was a short drive to most of the resorts. We already have our next visit to Cozumel planned for a year from now and I am looking forward to this visit.

    Final Grade: A

Internet Package- The internet package worked out fine for our needs. It was sometimes frustrating how often you have to log back in. The speed would’ve been more than satisfying if I hadn’t read so many people say how fast it was, but the hype was a little bigger than the actual thing. We would much rather not have the internet at all, it is nice to be disconnected but having Caleb with our grandparents it was a must have.

    Final Grade: B

Our Cruise on Oasis of the Seas- It is a complicated matter to add it all up and grade it out in its entirety. My vacation was fantastic but I was on vacation so of course it was. The ship met its expectations of being a megaship. The food was good but we would’ve like better. The service left more to be desired. Comparing this to previous cruises is what brings on the Final Grade that I have given.

    Final Overall Grade: B

Today is one week from stepping off of Oasis and now is the end of this review. It is time to put this trip in the rearview mirror and look towards our next cruise which coincidentally is exactly one year from today. On November 12, 2017, we board Carnival Vista for a 6-night cruise from Miami. This was my first review and I am torn as to whether I will continue to do this moving forward. This was a lot of work but I am glad that I did it. Thank you for reading my Trip Review. I hope that you enjoyed yourself and that I helped you in some sort of way, whether it was reliving your vacation or deciding on Oasis for your future cruise.

  3. Day 7: Disembarkation Day/Travel back to Orlando

The dreaded day has arrived :( It always comes so much quicker than vacation does... We wake up after were already docked at Fort Lauderdale so we have a similar view as to when we originally got to our balcony room on embarkation day. We head down to Windjammer for breakfast and with prior experiences we fully expect this to be a train wreck with everyone running to meet here as well. It must have been close to 9am but we had no trouble finding a place for us to sit together, and the be honest there was plenty of tables coming available through our time in there. Usually we come in to every table being hoarded until the person in them disembarks. I think that on Oasis they don't make this a location to wait in so it really keeps the room moving along. Great call!!! Afterwards we head down to MDR on promenade deck. We once again found a table here and many more where that came from while we wait for our deck to be called. We all played some cards together for the duration. Here are our custom made cards that my sister gave to us... Love em

    jAR3t7.jpg

We had to wait here for about an hour, it seemed as though there was a delay in luggage clearing customs because they told us we could leave the ship but then we would be waiting to pick up luggage. Id much rather wait on board. Once we were cleared to go we got off the ship quickly, made it to luggage quickly but then we had about a 45 minute wait to make it through customs. I supposed we should expect this with so many passengers on board. Now I don't recall my two embarkations on Royal in my past but I do remember, nor will I ever forget, my experience from Carnival Pride which was terrible. We were forced into areas that cannot hold the guests comfortably in any way. I remember seeing people scattered all over the floors, sitting on their luggage or just on the floor in itself. We were ushered to the theatre room, which was extremely crowded even though the room directly next to it was completely empty. They said that room was off limits. On Oasis this was a completely different and fresh experience. Thank You Royal!!!

We have a shuttle there to take us to Dollar Rent A Car for our rental. Really short drive there and while it was busy it didn't take too long to get our rental. This rental did have scratches and scuffs all over that we had to report so we wouldn't get charged on return but it never became a problem so oh well. A few hours back to Auburndale and we get to see our baby boys face. My grandparents tell me he was an angel and I feel relieved. We just sat around for a few hours, eat and talk about our vacation. It was lots of fun to relive some memories. This day went by pretty quickly.

Day After: Fly Back Home/Unpacking Day

We fly out of Orlando at 6am so we have to wake up and leave the house by 3am so we can get there with enough time. None of us got much sleep but it will be nice to get the travel back home out of the way and a decent amount of day light left for the day. Caleb enjoys exploring in this very large airport. Here he is eating in one of the many stores... he just popped a squat to get comfortable.

    a9wMWd.jpg

Our second flight from Atlanta to Akron/Canton had around 60 empty seats so we were able to spread out, get comfortable and allow an extra seat for Caleb which was nice. We were in the airport at home by 1030 and all the day ahead of us...... to unpack, unwind, relax and what not. And that is exactly what we did, plus throw in our laundry so that I don't drag it out over the next few days.

2 Days After: Vacay isn’t over yet!!!

Dad and I ended our vacation in the perfect way. We had tickets to go to the Cowboys/Browns game in Cleveland. We head down early, tailgate with some friends from work and watch our Boys beat up on Cleveland just like we expected. Here we are from our seats.

    COsDkL.jpg

And here is the American flag, in shape of the USA for the national Anthem. I love how this moment always gives me chills.

  4. We were hungry at this point so we decided to head to Sabor, something we had planned on doing when on this ship since before we even booked it. This restaurant is an ala Carte menu and is fairly reasonable price wise, most items are $5 or $6. We have heard so many good things about their tableside guacamole so we had that in mind immediately. The experience was not as I expected. I feel that the stories I have heard was them bringing a table to your table and hand making this delicious side in front of you and by request of what ingredients you liked. I remember people saying they were asked whether they like is spicy or not. None of which happened for us... He did make it in the same room as us but not within sight and no requests on how we wanted it. The guacamole was still good just lost a little of the experience we expected. We did have to add extra salsa into the guac ourselves to make it a little more our style.

    BGapkI.jpg

I ordered the chicken stuffed jalapenos, even though I knew this was far from something Wifey would enjoy. This is right up my alley and I was very happy with this. Definitely the best part of the meal for me. These were just the right amount of spicy mixed with great flavor.

    S8G31B.jpg

Wifey ordered the calamari which were crispy and pretty good, but not spectacular.

    fG04iH.jpg

Now this part was disappointing. We order the fish tacos and they were not as expected. Really they weren't even as good as they looked. They were truly tasteless which left a bad taste in our mouths.

    0ViKFO.jpg

Sabor left two very different opinions from the two of us. She did not have anything that was great, like she expected. But on the other had the chicken stuffed jalapenos will be remembered as one of the best things I ate all week and I love guacamole so that itself was still good so my experience was still above average, maybe short of what I wanted but still good. She was still hungry because of said experience so we headed next door to cups n scoops and got ice cream and a cupcake for desert. Vanilla cream cheese cupcake and I forget the flavor of my ice cream but it was very tasty.

    9eblzf.jpg

Now that I say this I completely forgot to mention that we ordered a root beer float and a milkshake at Johnny Rockets. Now the root beer float was exactly that, we know what to expect but my vanilla milkshake was amazing. It was a vanilla cake batter type of flavor to it and I cannot stress how amazing it was. Absolutely fantastic and I would recommend everyone to make it there just for that. We ate our cupcake and ice cream at one of the high top tables overlooking the aqua theatre just to enjoy the boardwalk and this was the only time I noticed the big tv screens like this but it is worth bringing up that they were not working right.

    LSNP76.jpg

we kept busy for the rest of the afternoon, a lot of time spent in the solarium just relaxing. We didn't try any more activities and I am okay with that. We have reservations for 150 Central Park tonight and we have rearranged the times so that we could combine our reservations with Jennifer and her parents David and Mona from the Cabin Crawl. We change the time til 630 and we all arrived on time. This was a disappointing meal on so many different fronts. This specialty restaurant is much more strict on what you can order, no extra appetizers and they have a meal on the menu that is a steak for two... so both you and your partner must order this together to get the entire size, otherwise they cut it in half... I did not take any pictures from this meal to respect our company but there wasn't much to take. They had the different salts they offer with their bread and it was okay. I ordered the Scallops for dinner and it came with 3 regular sized scallops for the entire meal so you can see why we may want an extra appetizer. I also had the duck confit for a starter and that was pretty tasty but by the time it was said and done this meal left us wanting so much more. Now I haven't mentioned the service yet, which was far and away the low light of our entire cruise. This meal took two and a half hours from start to finish and not because we took our time by any means. I am being truthful about the time frame. Our food took a really long time to come out and when it did we would get two or three of our plates while the rest would wait... and I am not talking about a minute or two, it was sometimes up to ten minutes later that we would all finally be served so those that had food it was now cold at this point. There was one time when my fathers starter was sitting a couple feet from the table on the tray while they waited until the rest of the meal was being brought out. And this was one of those moments that took several minutes. That is not acceptable. After we finished our main courses we waited about 30 minutes for our server to take our desert order. All in all there was no food that was memorable and the service was terrible. But there was one thing going for us... The company was fantastic and somehow we all ended up having a great time due to conversation so it wasn't a total loss... This left us close to the time to get back to the room and get completely packed up for disembarkation tomorrow morning. We spent the night relaxing and just enjoying ourselves the best we could.

  5. Day 6: Day at Sea

We get up to another beautiful skyline...

    LyWPwa.jpg

We put our breakfast on repeat by heading to the windjammer. Today we had to try and do anything that we hadn't done during the week. We took the schedule and highlighted our wants. We started off by heading up to the zip line on the sports. Once we got their the line wasn't too bad so we decided to get in it. We got to the entrance and saw that we needed shoes or sock to participate and we only had sandals so we headed to our room and grabbed our required items. When we returned the line was significantly longer and despite wanting to do it, we know it wont be anything like what we did in Costa Maya and the wait isn't worth being able to say we did it. We skipped instead to the FloRider. We went to the stand up version first so I could give it a try. And try I did lol. I have done this before on Freedom with success and I also wakeboard behind our jet ski but man it was not the same and it had been years since Freedom. After my quick run on the standup side we headed to the lay down side. We both gave it a shot and we had significantly more success. Here is Wifey giving it a go...

    Ac2WJE.jpg

    And here is me.

    bvTljG.jpg

It is incredible what some of these KIDS can do. I am talking about young kids that are incredibly talented. Realistically it is stuff I would do at their age and would like to do still at my age now but I just don't have it anymore :D We attempted to make it to the dodgeball tournament and coming up disappointed. I showed up 15 minutes, which is when the signup is. When I walked up the staff member was pulling the dodgeballs off the court and with confusion I asked if this is where it was being played. He said yes but unless I wanted to pay by myself their would be no game because no one showed up... I thought it was strange how early he bailed on the idea but what was I to do... I left and about 30 minutes later my dad found us in the solarium and asked why I wasn't there, I explained myself and he told me he just walked by and there was a dozen people playing... Argh... I knew I should've stayed a couple minutes. We then wanted to swing by the sports pool because Adult Volleyball was to start soon. We waited around until it began people watching. It was strange because one minute the volleyball net wasn't up, next thing it was, without us even realizing it happened and there was no staff member in sight. No one ever returned and there were 3 kids in the pool from before that were now playing volleyball. Strange of them not to announce the activity and to clear the pool for adults. Without any structure its no wonder the activities that we tried to participate in were no good.

  6. Can't wait to read about your day at Mr. Sanchos!

We've been to Nachi Cocum, Chankanaab Park and Paradise Beach; will have to try Mr. Sanchos next. We'd go back to anyone of those again, but loved the pool at Paradise Beach the best. We don't care about the beach toys or drinking; just want a nice beach and pool to relax at.

We had exactly that experience, very relaxing day at a beautiful location

    ..and harmless, lol.

Some might suggest its not so harmless! lol

Sent from my SM-G935P using Forums mobile app

  7. Kristie got, what a surprise! NY Strip! Wifey got the same spaghetti meal as the first night so I didn't take a picture. It wasn't as good tonight. Less taste, overcooked noodles. Off night, I guess

    OX7GsE.jpg

I ordered the Ahi Tuna, which was actually the meal that we decided to plan our specialty restaurants around. We knew we would do to 150 Central park either day 5 or 6 but we wanted to try the Ahi so we chose night 6 for Central park. So, as you can imagine, expectations are a tad high.

    .

    ..

.... And it didn't quite live up

    FXoPmh.jpg

It was a bit flavorless and dry. And based on, uh, my previous expectations it was WAAAAAY over cooked. This was the inside, which if you're much familiar with Ahi Tuna, you'd probably be expecting it to look a bit different...

    0kGSgZ.jpg

So I did a quick google search for "Ahi Tuna" and the first 50 pictures or so look something like this: f6PKww.jpg

So, yeah, not really what we we're looking for.

And lastly, for desert we had bread pudding, one of my favorites!

    ocdA3u.jpg

In all, though, this wasn't our best day of dining. Probably should have just gone to the Windjammer...

  8. Not long after departing we head to MDR for dinner. We actually considered going to the windjammer instead simply because we've never made it for lunch or dinner! (the two times we tried it was just after 3 when they close until 5:30)

Wifey got the Maryland style crab cake, which was okay, though less than thrilling.

    qYxsL3.jpg

I got the creamy roasted garlic soup. It was good but could have used something of more substance in it. Chicken? Corn? Potato? Anything really.

    N0u9ZM.jpg

I*also* got shrimp cocktail because I hadn't ordered this yet and couldn't skip the chance! Hard to do this one wrong :)

    uY7QFZ.jpg

Onto the entrees, Pops got Roasted Strip Loin. Another steak dish, I know! Those two love their steaks!

    zjatsA.jpg

  9. Mr. Sancho's is a completely different kind of speed that I am used to. I have always been a go go go, never stop, lets get some high energy activites going type of person, but this past year I have begun to change. I will say that is due to my son lol. I have really enjoyed relaxing significantly more than I ever expected and this was the perfect thing to do on our last port day. We stayed about as late as we could without risking getting back on the ship within reason. Read back to Embarkation and you may know why I had a good reason not to cut it close :D On our way back I was please to see what had docked next to us in port

    fydoHq.jpg

That is Freedom of the Seas next to Lady O. This makes for a pretty interesting coincidence for me. This is only my 4th cruise. For the average person that is a larger number, but most of you know that for cruisers I am basically a rookie, just wet behind the ears. I have been on three RC cruises as you can see from my signature. During this cruise I have seen only 3 Royal ships, one if which is Oasis OTS. The other two coincidentally are Enchantment OTS in Nassau and now Freedom OTS in Cozumel, both of which the only other Royal ships I have been aboard. Funny how things come full circle. While my best memories have and always will come from Enchantment, Freedom certainly has its memories that I will never forget.

    rxLOZl.jpg

This isn't the most narrow dock out there but I still think because of the size of ships involved that this is a worthy ship canyon

    PikX3J.jpg

We boarded back up and went to our balcony to watch sail away before dinner. Interestingly enough I joked around about watching to see if we would see any pier runners and to our full entertainment we did get a chance to see some. It was a weird situation where we were clearly waiting for the family running while hundreds on board were cheering on their performance. Then once one of them made it to the ship they were told they had to run the half mile back to port security for some reason and then back to the ship. We ended up leaving the port well over an hour past scheduled sail away. At least we got some entertainment out of it lol It was finally time to push off...Goodbye Cozumel... until next year!!!

    FZDh0p.jpg

  10. Also included was their full menu. The items are all listed with prices but they are all included in the all-inclusive. There was a plethora of Mexican style cuisine along with seafood style foods. We made sure to try a very mixed bag of foods between the 4 of us and we shared it all. Here we have three different style tacos, one steak, one shrimp and one chicken. We were given plenty of fixings of whatever we wanted to top off our tacos, the best of which was a homemade guacamole.

    pApH4e.jpg

Here we have a plate of white rice, the chicken fajita mixture with onions and then you get to see the guacamole.

    Z7gfvS.jpg

You will see the filet of garlic fish that we split up. This was probably the highlight of this meal. The fish was light and flaky and had great flavor. I highly recommend it

    gQj2Cj.jpg

This was the plate of steak fajita mix. You can see our oversized plate of jalapenos, lets just say my dad and I like spicy lol.

  11. Day 5: Port of Cozumel/ Mr. Sancho’s All Inclusive Resort

Today marks the day that you begin to realize that the end is near... You wait 584 days to get this vacation and now you are only a couple days from having to start all over... but before we get there lets enjoy this day! This port is the most highly anticipated port I have ever had the pleasure of going to. I have heard so many great things about Cozumel, so much so in fact that when I hear someone talk about how they didn't enjoy the island, dozens come to the defense of the port with their heavy defense, sometimes in a far too aggressive stance. So the expectations were high, specifically for Mr. Sancho's. Prior to getting off of the ship we planned to meet another CC member (TJMajer) at Johnny Rockets for breakfast then to catch a taxi over to the all inclusive club together. I heard a lot of great things about the free breakfast at JR but to be completely honest I left wishing for better. I would have never anticipated wishing I had gone to the Windjammer at all during this cruise but in this case I really had. Still it was nice meet up with some nice company to start off the morning. After breakfast we made a quick stop to our cabin then headed down to the gangway and made our way through port. This was a larger shop area than I am use to. The endless stores were relentless lol. I never had pushy sales which goes hand in hand with what we've heard from this port. Once we arrived at the taxi location we waited a few minutes for others to arrive. We had discussions and had as many as 12 people say they would gather at the same time for a large taxi to be more cost effective. We never had anyone else show and took a taxi for just the six of us to Sancho's. The trip cost us $34 there(van that could hold 8 or more) and $17(car that held just us 4) on the way back. We arrived prior to them actually being opened(9am their time) but they gladly let us in and begin enjoying the beach. This place was huge and beautiful. I had been highly anticipating this pool bar for a loooonngg time.

    qpLYQi.jpg

There is more than just one pool bar, here is the other.

    caOdHC.jpg

The water was refreshing and clean. As everyone before us had stated the service was second to none. Once Jesus introduced himself as our personal waiter he was there to wait on us hand and foot. He was rarely gone long enough for us to finish our drink and he was always very friendly in assisting us. We would bounce around from the beach, to the pool, to the hammocks and the dining area and he still seemed to always find us to make sure we were taken care of. They have a drink menu that is plentiful and if you didn't see it then just ask for it and you will be left satisfied. They had two ways of eating. The first and most convenient was their buffet style food that was always there and always ready. This was not a big buffet but it had enough to satisfy you at any moment. Things like ceviche, salsa, fresh tortilla chips, steak tips, beans, chicken wings and more.

    fxwlWg.jpg

Today was the one and only day where we had a consistent taste of the Caribbean sun. The skies cleared themselves of clouds for a considerable part of the day, enough so that we each got a very slight bit of sunburn. Just enough mainly so we acquired a bit of color. The beach was beautiful and the water was crystal clear. This was a very unique sand though, never had I run across a thick, large cut of sand. This was not a negative, just a note.

  12. Been waiting for this part of the review. We are booked her in January end I was wondering how it was going to be. Looks like they have some decent slides. The green one looks like fun. Do you know much was the extra cost ride was?

Here's one of my favorite from Wet n Wild in Orlando. You stand in the booth and the bottom drops out on you.

Wow that one looks pretty intense if you ask me.

Sorry I did not get the price, I didnt even know that it wasn't included at first, we waited at it for a few minutes with no one around wondering if we just hook up and jump 😂😉 we finally asked the closest staff member and they said you pay for it at the locker rentals

  13. I ain't goin' anywhere, this entire review is where it's at, 5 yrs from now I can always go back and relive our 1st Oasis cruise thru your eyes, speaking of which I haven't even expressed my gratitude yet for all this hard work..so THANK YOU!.. I GoPro'd all the way, so anytime any of the boys and girls demanded some pictures, I just simply log on and show 'em all that it's in here. Take your time, I don't want this review to end quickly the way our cruise have.

xs: Wild Guess, you and your SO were in Johnny Rockets prior/during the Belly Flop Contest, are you??

Lmao! same stuff, No Lines, Bored slide attendant inviting us to try the slide thru eye contact, started speaking pre-historic language while freefalling.. and yes, my first reaction once done is "i almost died"..

Thank you so much for following along and I appreciate the nice comments.

Yes in fact we were at Johnny Rockets during the Belly Flop Competition... haha I remember going "ohhhhh that sounded like that hurt " lol

Any chance you had a GoPro to your chest while a son of yours had one strapped to their head?!?!

And back to the green slide, just to add to the hilarity... I am the type that just launches myself down by pulling myself inside by the edge of the tube so I was preparing to do that when I saw Wifey's eyes get real big 😨 Haha that couldve started with me hitting the top of the tube in pain before dropping straight down a hundred feet or so.

  14. With early dining finished we ended up with some spare time we were not expecting since our party was not until 10:30 and since our Oasis of Dreams show was cancelled on the first night and there happens to be one right now we decided to see if we could sneak in. And with plenty of room to spare we did.

    HkDBQr.jpg

This was the image we get to see for opening scene

    CvmIDO.jpg

I decided to not take any other photos and just enjoy the show. And it was very enjoyable. While the story line is very difficult to follow, the dancing and diving was very well done. Incredible in fact. I was locked in to see what the next performer would do to outdo the last and they did. Very well done Royal. It wasn't much after the show ended that our "Secret" party was to start. Earlier in the day we received a card with a "secret" location and "secret" password to get in. There really was a sense of other people not knowing what we were going to, some intrigue to want to be involved. They took us into the location through the employee entry in a "sneaking" kind of fashion which was fun in itself. I will not give the entire details of the event but there were unlimited drinks of the time period and we have activities to get everyone involved along with a story that was easy to follow. We had a good time and came away with this picture.

We ended the night by heading over to Blaze with a friend for a little while once this party was over. It ended up being our latest night of the trip!

    I cannot wait!!!

  15. We all made it to 6pm dinner and of course tonight is prime rib and lobster night. Nothing spectacular about starters, Kristie ordered a salad, I tried the Vidalia Onion Tart, which was okay.

    gxMUXH.jpg

Wifey gave the Caprese Salad a go.

    H2s2Jo.jpg

    And Dad had Shrimp Cocktail

    RqYDyi.jpg

Now on this night, I failed entirely. We all ordered the prime rib or the lobster in some capacity but sadly I did not take a photo of any of it lol. Not even an empty plate like I will show you soon for desert haha but the good thing is you all know what to expect with this meal. The prime rib was good as was the lobster. Unfortunately no one was walking around with a tray full of extra lobster tails to those looking for more :D Here we have what was Apple Pie a la Mode

    8vr9kk.jpg

And Stacey tried the Chocolate Cake which she described as very moist.

  16. This is the view from the top looking over towards the Oasis. Sitting next to her is Carnival Victory and it is strange to see her not dwarf the other ship when comparing this to Enchantment in the Bahamas.

    OCGlwS.jpg

Here is a look see at the slide and zip line list that they have for you to see.

    w3HuM9.jpg

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. It had only been 4ish by the time we completed all the slides zip lines and we put it up to debate, stay longer and miss 6pm dinner on formal night, try to sneak in to MTD like everyone else because of the late port day or be happy with what we have done and head back now. We were both happy with calling it a day and heading back to ship. Once we made it back to the room we came in to this.

    ujBHyR.jpg

This one was obviously a giraffe ;) We have a pretty busy night ahead of us, another reason to get back a little early. We are going to the Prohibition Party and plan on wearing most of out outfits to dinner. This is what we came up with.

    7NZT5Q.jpg

  17. There were 12 zip lines split between two courses (you zipped to one tower, hopped off the line and right back on another line. Basically no wait time) and one zip coaster (sorry, no good pictures of the coaster, but it was very cool). In all, it took about 2 hours to get through all the zip lines.

So once the zip lines were out of the way, we headed straight to the water slides.

    cMB5eO.jpg

Most of them were in sets of two so Wifey and I raced down one (spoiler alert: I won), then back up the tower to switch.

    8fniU8.jpg

This was one of the coolest slides out there. See that big tunnel thing? Yeah, at the bottom of the slide you are sent into a huge funnel where you swirl around a few times and are then dropped straight down into a pool at the bottom. I’ve seen a slide with a similar concept in the states, but it’s in a tube and the funnel is horizontal, not vertical, so you slide out instead of straight *falling* out.

    WHnHdW.jpg

(and here’s a video of what it’s like at the very bottom: )

Now this slide… is the infamous “green slide” we’ve been talking about for days (another poster saw we went to this park and had to mention this slide. It was that memorable!) So here’s our story: We’ve done a few slides, working our way up the pyramid to hit all the slides before we ended our day and on one level there were two slides. Slide #1 had about 10 kids waiting in line. Slide #2 had… zero. No one at all. I’m all “Let’s go on the one with no line!”, Wifey, being a bit more cautious, asks the guy “Why is no one over here? What’s wrong with this slide? Is it horrifying?” The guy smiles and says “No! It’s not that bad!”

He opens the rope gate to let me into the slide and I’m about to just go for it. It’s a dark tunnel slide so I can’t see a whole lot of what’s in store for me but, what’s the worst that could happen? Wifey, however, looks over the side of the building and the look on her face made me pause. I look too and well, the slide is a *little* steep. Like about a foot into the slide it turns STRAIGHT down.

    OFBYOO.png

We both start laughing, considering what it might have been like to have no idea and just all the sudden falling. We both still go, but let’s just say some inappropriate words may have left my mouth when I dropped. It was like a literal freefall. Your body does not touch the slide for a few seconds. This thing was INTENSE! Wifey went too, with more screaming and less cussing. She comes out awkward laughing and holding her elbow which she apparently hit to the point that it bruised during the slide. I asked her if she had her arms crossed like she was supposed to and she said “I DON’T KNOW! Did you see that slide? I almost died!” hahaha

We did the last few slides but none, thankfully, were quite as intense or memorable as that one!

  18. We started our adventure by doing the zip lines, we figured it was best to do that first and get wet later hoping the sun would come out. You get all equipped with your zip lining gear. It is pretty lightweight so we had no troubles walking around the park in it. We took the elevator to the top level where you get to see the layout of the park and see the Quick Drop which is basically a bungee jump through the center of the structure all the way to the bottom.

    v3XYsO.jpg

    fQJXPv.jpg

I would have loved to do this but apparently this cost extra. We did not run across any other activities that were extra but it was disappointing that this was. Here is a little bit of a look of the Zip Coaster, some of the Lazy River and some of where you end one of the Zip Lines.

    z8UfoV.jpg

In case you couldn't see the "landing pad" for the zip line here is a better look

    NX8jFm.jpg

Yes that is a water landing zone. Little did we know that we will be getting drenched at the end of the zip line course lol oh well it was starting to get hot anyways!!!

  19. Walking up to the Pyramid this is one of the views. Here you can see the two largest slides this park has to offer.

    jylacO.jpg

They were both incredibly fast and intense. My knee length swim shorts was transformed into a speedo by the time I was finished with the slide from the force of water, not comfortable so we only rode these slides once. You get to all of the attractions from this one structure. Very cool of them to do that, leaves the walking to as minimal as possible. The inside of the pryamid was multiple levels, each had the entrance to either slides, ziplines or some had both. This is a look from the bottom level, you can get a basic idea of what the layout was.

    eErXxO.jpg

Although we did not try this out here is a view of the lazy river.

    aqaYfM.png

One positive from the lack of sun was that the park was never crowded. It was still warm out, mostly in the 80's through the day so the water felt nice but there was never a long line. The large variety of activities seemed to help too, the lines were dispersed nicely. You can see here that you only had to wait a couple minutes to get on this slide and the same goes for all of them.

    EP7S0M.jpg

  20. The ride over was a very quick one. Maybe a 10 minute ride at most. There wasn't much to see but some undeveloped areas but we did manage to come up with this picture.

    e6MTuL.jpg

Once we arrived this friendly face was there to greet us. I really enjoyed her makeup.

    9xHJ5j.jpg

As soon as you walk through the front gates you come upon these crates. One of which is moving because a monkey is inside trying to break loose. ;)

    dzBuXX.jpg

You get a real jungle experience from start to finish. You can tell from the photos just how complete this park really is from head to toe. I think they did a great job!

    2FQiUd.jpg

  21. Once everyone was gathered at the excursion meet location we were led through port to the taxi location. We first come up on this very cool tribal welcome party. There was local tribal music being played and a group of people were doing some sort of tribal dance, I hope it was to make the rain clouds go away! The pictures do not do it justice because this truly was an experience.

    txoplJ.jpg

They seemed to be dancing around this one who was dressed differently than the rest and appeared to be the leader.

    8if7me.jpg

We walked through the area with all the shops like any other port but the shops all looked to be fairly newer, with very up to date signage.

    Qj4UqH.jpg

It was a very short walk to the taxi location which was also where the transportation was to the adventure park. They had these large occupancy trailers being towed behind a truck to take you to and from the park. We were told that in the morning a shuttle would run every 45 minutes and that in the afternoon one would be by every 5, so whenever you wanted to leave there would be one to take you back.
