  1. Just read the remnants of Typhoon Merdok could be hitting Alaska.. high winds flooding. Read it could be the worse storm since 2011. Not to be selfish, but anybody know how past big storms have affected cruises? I leave on the Encore the 25th. Obviously I hope everyone there is ok first and foremost.

  2. If my Alaska cruise has a stop in Canada (originates out of Seattle)  do I still need the negative covid test? We don’t plan on getting off the ship. Also do you have to be vaccinated? We have friends who want to join now, but are unvaccinated. They would not get off ship in Canada either. Some in our group seem to think we will still need to do a test. Confused.

  3. Kind of a stupid question maybe, but… if you book a Haven room can you have friends/family over to your room to visit? I know they can’t go to the other Haven offerings. My sister and I are thinking of upgrading and one of the reasons why is we would like to have gatherings on our deck(put into upgrade to large deck) nobody else in our group is putting in for it, so if they can’t even stop over, we would probably reconsider upgrading. Thanks for responses!

  4. Hello! I am a first time cruiser on Norwegian (quite a few on Royal) and am very excited. My question being, I always pay for the drink package on Royal.

For Norwegian this was included in my booking. Do you have to pay taxes on the drinks you get on the ship or is that included? Royal your taxes and tip were always included in the cost. I tend to indulge a bit(not to excess!) so was wondering if I will owe taxes at the end as I read somewhere else that you have to pay them? Just want to be prepared for it if we do. Thanks in advance!

  5. I was on Oasis last month. I check my account statements often. I had 4 charges on my account that weren’t mine. Charged at the Opal Theatre which I never went to. Charged for drinks even though I had the deluxe package( no drinks over $13) . I argued these charges and got the money back. But morning of deembarkation was charged$150 for towels!!! That is 6 towels. I only used 3 all week and returned all of them and scanned in. I had my card all week so no one else using it. Gone with Royal 5 times, first time I have had this issue. Anyone else having this problem?

  6. So we are currently on Oasis. Two friends of mine booked an inside room. One of them cancelled and lost 100% of his fare, which was understood. The problem  is they are now charging the other person an extra  approximately $400. I don’t get it, they still got the other person who cancelled’s FULL fair. Is there anyway for the one who cruised to not have to pay this $400? Thanks

  7. Ok, so we have our cruise picked out. Oasis In February. Stops in Nassau, St Thomas, and St Maarten. Any recommendations of good excursions/ places to snorkel in any of those 3 ports? FYI, those in the group that want to snorkel are beginners. So any recommendations are appreciated!

  8. Bingo is a huge money maker for the cruise lines. They take in way, way more than they ever pay out. It's a total scam.

I agree. Was on Jewel a few years ago, no joke $40 to play 1 game!! It was advertised "come play a game of bingo" but I assumed it was at least a few games. Probably my fault, but they made a FORTUNE!

  9. Hi all, for those of you that have cruised out of Port Canaveral, do you recommend staying in Orlando or Port Canaveral? We will be flying in the day before the cruise, and it looks like we can get a good deal at a hotel by the airport, and then use a shuttle service to get us to the cruise ship the next day. Seems reasonably priced. Or does anyone think staying by the port is the better option? Thanks in advance for any input!!!
