Does anyone have any recommendations for a hotel for large group in Fort Lauderdale? Also will they transfer us from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise port? Thank you in advance.

For the record I feel I’m not screwing anyone. A few years back the cruise line recommended gratuity for specific crewmembers. Apparently the other crew members were paid a different salary. I don’t feel bad at all, following the guidelines that the cruise lines recommended in the past. I just feel better knowing that my money is going directly to them, and not at the discretion of the cruise line.

I get envelopes from Guest Services but it is only to tip extra to those who I have had great service from….my gratuities are pre-paid before boarding. My only hope is that those who remove their tips do so at the beginning of the cruise rather than wait until the last day so that the crew will know it was not because of something they did wrong!!
I always remove the gratuity, in the beginning of the cruise

How wrong you are. When auto grats are removed the waitstaff and room stewards turn that amount you give them into the ships tip pool. Curious as how you get your cash to all the behind the scenes works who share in the tip pool.
The same way they got paid before when we always tipped the way that i tip . I ask for envelopes at the customer service desk so I can tip and they gladly give them to me. A lot of people do this.

This is where extra $ come in. To those who personally served you or had direct contact with you.. What happens with removing all gratuities is you that $ away those people behind the scenes that helped make your cruise enjoyable.
Actually, I like tradition and I’ve been cruising for a long time, and we always tipped the waiters a sister, Wieters head, waiters and cabin steward directly. If I feel anyone else deserves a tip, i tip them appropriately

I always do because i like to personally give cash to the people that help me throughout the cruise. This way, I know it’s going directly into their pocket and they don’t have to share it with anyone.

If they sent you some sort of message would it change your options for checking yourself for the virus or monitoring your health for the next couple weeks? It seems like you have the information despite them not sending an email.
Actually im a very cautious person ...so im staying home. However ..I do know people that aren't

I don't think they have anything to tell you yet. Hopefully, when the CDC comes back with results they will notify all of you.
I understand that they don't have results but im staying home because I wouldn't want to expose anyone to something that we may or may not have been exposed to. They just let us go without any guidance.

We were on the January 27th sailing on the Anthem .I noticed there were a fair share of my fellow cruisers that were coughing a lot .( I even mentioned this to my wife on our last night) Then when we were waiting to disembark the coughs were more frequent. This included one of the people in our group. As you could imagine, my wife and I were a little worried ,especially with all of the rumors about the coronavirus going around the ship. I know that Royal has been doing the best that they can communicating with the guest who are suppose to be on the next sailing as to when they might expect to board the ship . We were just wondering why we aren't being updated ,especially since we are the ones with possible exposure. Btw the person in our group went to the hospital when she got home and was diagnosed with the Flu. Maybe that explains all of the coughing. I am glad that Royal is being cautious and giving the Anthem a good cleaning . I just want to end by saying that this was one of the best cruises that we have ever been on and that we cant wait to sail again with Royal. From the Captain on down ...they were simply the best

Mercedes is not new, she's been around at least for several eyars. Very nice lady, personable, visible around the ship, easy to talk with.
Thank you very much

Anyone ever had her or is she new?

How do you rate Mercedes Lafuente as a cruise director? I have never heard of her before.....

Are we allowed to bring water and soda on board the Anthem? We sailed on her in 2017 and it wasn't an issue then .We will be on her in January and I just was wondering if its an issue now...

We were able to book reservations for the entire week. We got the time we wanted for every night except one. We booked as soon as they opened on day one. There is a podium right outside CK that is manned when they are open.
how is the food in Ck

I appreciate the feedback

There are three different kinds of junior suite on Anthem. Which one are you interested in?
I believe we are in a
spa suite

Thanks for the link,i would also like to know how past cruisers liked the room....

I know this subject has most likely been covered a thousand times but I cant seem to find it. How are the Jr suites on the Anthem and what perks come with that category? I have sailed on the Anthem before but never in a Jr suite. Any information would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks

We have been on Adventure for past two weeks. Looking around WJ, it seems to us that most of the people are going for the burgers, hotdogs, pasta, pizza - adults & kids. Maybe this is a sign of the times? Usually only one cooked vegetable available. To us, trying to eat healthy on this ship is difficult. The quality is just not there. Everything is drenched with butter to give it taste. Salads without tons of dressing are virtually non-existent here too.
The new small menu has been implemented on Adventure. Don't mind it but the old standard choices are gone. Luckily dinner we're able to get salmon on request - you have to ask for anything special from a head waiter.
The new dining times will be 5:30, 7:45 & 9 pm once they implement three seatings after drydock of ships.
The chefs picture isn't even shown on the officers sheet you get when boarding. Maybe he's in hiding???

3 different dining times?I feel sorry for the wait staff....seems like it would require them to work longer hours
Labadee Cabana
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Good afternoon! This topic may have been covered before, but I can’t seem to find any information. I was wondering if anyone has rented a cabana in Labadee and if so, which ones would you recommend for a party of eight? Thanks in advance for any information.
