  1. Thank you, I will definitely contact the special needs dept of my needs. It has already been noted in my reservation that I will be doing dialysis.
  2. I had the worst luck with my scooter on debarkation. I was never told to meet anywhere, never told of any special elevator or nothing. Special needs dept. told me they have nothing in place for special needs passengers I Couldn't get on an elevator to save my life. My husband had to fold up scooter and carry up stairs then come back to help me up the stairs. Luckily it was only 1 floor. I would personally take elevators to debarkatiin floor early and wait there or wait until later to catch an elevator. I'm only taking a wheelchair on next cruise but I have a husband and grandson who will help me. Good luck, I hope everything works in your favor.
  3. I understand the problems with dialysis. When I first started dialysis I tried to do a 5 day cruise only having treatment before and after. Not that this will happen to you but I was definitely sick by the time we got off ship. I could not breathe. I am now doing home dialysis and trying again doing my own treatments on the ship. I know that is not an option for you so think long and hard about doing a 7 day with no treatment. Maybe try 3 days without at but only with doctor approval first just to see how you feel. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.
  4. Tgank you, I have talked to special needs but didnt think to ask. I'll add to my other questions I'll need to call them for.
  5. When doing hemodialysis on a cruise, do you bring biohazard bags or regular trash bags for disposal of used supplies? I will be bringing a sharps for the needles. This question is for used cartridges, used gauze, etc. Thank you.
  6. Thank you so very much, just what I wanted to hear.
  7. We are cruising out of Galveston departing from terminal 25 but returning to terminal 28. Can we drop our bags off at terminal 25 and drive to Express Lot at terminal 25 without getting back on harborside drive? Meaning, can we drive straight through to reach parking lot? Thank you for any ideas.
  8. Thank you so much for this information and that is great to know. We're not with Baxter but maybe not worth the chance. My first time to cruise on Dialysis so it will be an adventure for sure.
  9. I have already talked to Access Department, everything has been noted and I was told on what I need from doctor, etc. I read the post from Dialysis from a platinum cruiser and she stated she turned everything over to the porters to be hand delivered and that just didn't sit well with me. I honestly didn't think they would do that. I'm just hoping when I carry on I can take directly to room. Its way too much stuff and heavy to haul around until 1:30. We would have to carry on machine, 7 cs of dialysate and 2 carryon bags full of supplies. That's on top of regular luggage. Oh the things my husband does for me. Lol We do plan on a later check-in for that reason so hopefully it all works out. Thank you all.
  10. I am cruising on Carnival next summer and will be doing treatments on board. Did you bring all your supplies with you or had liquids delivered by NxStage? Did you check everything except machine or carry on all? Can you take your equipment to your cabin when you board or wait until after 1:30? Thank you so much your your help and suggestions.
