  1. Thanks for all the information everyone, very useful!  Since we booked last minute, we will likely get what we get, but we will try to change as per cbfb above.  Business center area - is that basically guest services?

    Thanks again!

  2. We used a travel agent for the first time and he grabbed the last room for us, so I am going to assume bottom of the barrel.  Nothing is included so I would say Bella based on what I read on the website

    Very last minute for us!

It does not seem to be printed on our travel docs/confirmation.

  3. Hi everyone,  We just booked a last minute cruise on the World Europa and have a couple of question about dining.

How hard is it to switch if you don't like the time you were assigned?

Is one time generally more popular than another?

Are you assigned a table with other people or can you generally get a table for two if you want?

Is specialty dining something you book once on the ship? I don't see any specialty restaurants listed on the website or app.

This is our first time on MSC, we have been on a few other lines but I know they all run their dining differently

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Is there a wait for the hydrofoil to Capri from the cruise ship dock?

Do all the cruise excursions take the seats on the first few ferries and you have to wait for a later ferry?

I want to go to Capri in Oct as an excursion as well but I'm wondering about the time and if it may be better to to the cruise ship excursion options? Which is better, doing it yourself of jumping an excursion to get you there and back with maximum time on Capri?

    Thanks!

  5. Hi Everyone,

I want to book a cabin in the Haven on the Epic.  I have not sailed yet on the Epic and am unfamiliar with the ship.

I am deciding between a Haven Spa Suite, Haven Courtyard Penthouse and Haven Aft-facing penthouse (deck 10 and 11 are what's available)

Any insight into which would be better?  Any with larger balconies?

    Thanks!

    K

  6. Hello everyone,

I'm looking at the forward facing penthouse on the Escape - I watched a video on one on deck 9 and I didn't like the lack of privacy outside on the balcony.  You looked directly down onto the large balconies below and the port holes in the bedroom offered no view.

My question is, how high do you have to go for the balcony to be more private and for there to be a view beyond the forward deck?  The only forward facing penthouses available now on my cruise are on deck 10 - 12, has anyone stayed in these cabins and can let me know how private the balcony is?

    Thanks!

Regal Princess. All lounge chairs by the pools are free. The main Lido deck pool has a rectangular  pool and a plunge pool plus two hot tubs. There are lounge chairs all around in what is seen as the light area on the deck plans. Much of the tan boarded area on the deck plans are comfortable sofas and chairs. The area closest to the elevators has tables and chairs for dining. The Retreat Pool on deck 17 is adults only. There are a few cabanas there which require a fee. All other areas are free. The Sanctuary forward of the Retreat Pool is a reserved lounge area, $40/day, $20/half day, $30/day if entire cruise is booked. No pool in the sanctuary. You have to leave that area if you want to dip. The sanctuary is busy on tropical cruises. On deck 17 aft there is a small dipping pool. Very little shade in lounge chairs around any of the pools. There are also lounge chairs on deck 17 above the main lido pool area. There are 2 hot tubs there. This area may have shade from the structure of the ship and the direction of travel.

Thank you - I appreciate the information!

  8. Hello everyone,

We are booked on a Princess cruise next year on the Regal Princess.  It's our first time on Princess and we are trying to figure out the pool deck area.  I see that there are some free areas and some pay areas and it appears that there are free areas where you pay for a chair - is this correct?

Is it possible to go up top and just find a chair - not poolside without booking anything?  Would there be chairs available to use or are they normally all booked/taken?

    Thanks

Where are people hearing about a go kart being put in as a replacement for the ropes course? Do we know what is actually being done during this dry dock? Would hate to see something that’s included be replaced by an additional up charge attraction. Thanks

Back in 2020 when I booked a cruise on the Escape for 2022 I was told by NCL while booking on the phone that they were removing the obstacle course and adding a go cart track.

Let's hope that things could have  changed in the past year!

  10. We did the same cruise with split embarkation ports in 2019 - we embarked in Rome as well.  We had no lines, we got on the ship early and our cabin was ready earlier which was a bonus.

Getting back on in Barcelona was breeze, we bypassed the main line and no issues.  I would do it again and embark in Rome as we wanted to spend more time in Rome that an excursion would have allowed.

    It was a fun cruise!

  11. It really depends on which city interests you more and which you would like to spend extra time visiting.

Barcelona is much easier to visit as a cruise port as it is a quick shuttle ride into the city.  Rome is about 1 hour 20 mins from the port so you do lose a fair bit of time getting between the 2 locations which gives you less time in the city itself.

For me, I wanted to spend a couple of days in Rome prior to the cruise as there is so much to see and a cruise stop does not give you enough time to see it all so we chose to embark in Rome rather than Barcelona - we had the option to embark in either city

Again, I think it comes down to personal preference and what you want to see in each city.

    Both cities are amazing!

  12. Hi Everyone,

We are looking at booking a Haven spa cabin on the Escape for 2022.  It is the cheapest option for the Haven but the room seems really crowded with the big tub in it.  How much space does it take up?   I don't think we will use the tub but moving up to the next Haven cabin is currently $1500 more.  Is the tub a nuisance?  We are concerned about cabin space

    Thanks!
