1. Yeah not worried at all about a mini bar, but a fridge ??? Yeah im gonna miss that. ! Crazy, as i said, ive had a fridge pretty much every cruise...oh well.

Only the Fantasy Class ships have a "fridge". The rest of the Carnival fleet are all considered mini bars and only keep things cool not cold. They look like the little college dorm style fridges but they are not.

  2. Crusing in a blacony cabin on the Sunshine in 2 weeks, all the previous cruises that Ive been on ( in balconies) have always had a fridge, but I thought I read recently that they werent "standard" in balcony cabins anymore, but only certain cabins. Deck 6 , if that helps...

    Thanks

    Bonnie

Not all cabins have the mini bar and none of the cabins has a "fridge". Many staterooms had no mini bars.

Here is the info that you want...only certain decks have mini bars. Ship: SH (suites and staterooms on decks 3/5/10/11/12 and select staterooms on deck 9)

We were in 9126, the Grand Scenic Ocean View and we had a mini bar. Remember that this is the old Destiny redone so not all cabins have been "updated" and many still have the features or lack of features, that the Destiny had.

Some of the cabins had hair dryers in the bathroom the same as the Destiny did and other cabins (new and updated cabins) had the hair dryers in the vanity like the majority of the ships have.

Our table mates had an inside cabin that had no furniture except for the vanity, bed and closet...not even a single chair except for the stool at the vanity. They only had one little bedside lamp too.

  3.
The last cruise out of Baltimore on the Pride is the repositioning on November 30th. I can book other weeks in November on the Pride from Baltimore but can't find the cruise leaving on November 2nd.

Looks like October 26-November 2nd is unable to book, on TA sites I get an error.

There is a 2 week period that we can't book the Pride, October 26-November 9.

I guess she's getting some refurbishing before she does her last 3 cruises in November out of Baltimore and heads down to Tampa?

Too bad, we were looking to book that cruise for 11/2/14.
I had a client booked on the Nov 30 Baltimore to San Juan cruise. Carnival has canceled those cruises. There was an email received from Carnival notifying them that the Pride is going into dry dock on Oct 19 and staying in drydock till November 9, 2014. Instead of coming back to Baltimore they have decided to send her right from Drydock to Tampa to begin her home port season there. :-(
  4. Great review Jane, it was wonderful to see all the Maniacs again and meet the new Maniacs!!

As a group you guys are the best, always offering help and suggestions, welcoming new people with open arms. Have no idea who that person is or why they are saying we are not open to young and new cruisers.

Can't wait to see the rest of your review.

  5. My DH and I always cruise together. Don't think I'd want to cruise without him. But, we both ride motorcycles and I still work. He doesn't. He frequently travels on extended bike trips around the country without me and I don't mind (well not much anyway). He does say he feels quilty leaving me behind but only for a few minutes! LOL

  6. What a fabulous review! Thank you for taking the time to share all this with us and especially sharing your proposal and vow renewal. We were tossing around the idea of renewing our vows on board the Miracel in February...you just made the decision easier.

You have a very beautiful family and your wife is so lucky to have such a loving and caring husband. Kuddos to you! Especially for supporting her decision on her new career and going away from you and the kids for such a long time.

Wish I would have found the review when you first started it. Read it all over the past few days. Didn't want to stop! Beautiful pictures too. I think you should print in all out, review and pictures. Make a fabulous scrap book with it and present it to your honey as a surpise gift....now, do you have time to do all that too? LOL ;)

Again, thank you for doing this for all us cruise lovers.

  7. Our friends did one of those motorcycle cruises three years ago. Their bike got so banged up on and off the ship and around the islands that they said NEVER again. Worse than Sturgis.

Don't believe that for a minute. We have done the motorcycle cruise and the people that run it are actually over zealous about keeping the bikes safe and no scratches or harm to the bikes.

The bike operators take their own bikes on and off the ship so if you bang it up because you are "hot dogging" it to be a showoff then that was the operators fault and has nothing to do with this being a "rough on the bike" cruise. By the way, if you don't act like mature, responsible adults on your bikes you are not allowed back on this bike cruise.

There was always someone watching the bikes in ports if we were parked and off doing something and there was security on board to protect the bikes.

No chance that they got beat up on board or in ports unless your friends were careless. Not even close to the mess in Sturgis! Been there and done that too.

Would do this type bike cruise again in a heartbeat and, we are! So, this is just info to correct the false and erroneous info your friends gave you and you are passing on. If you haven't been there and done it you can't possibly know what actually happened.

  8. I wouldn't take my bike on a carribean cruise. At almost every port I have been to, people drive like maniacs and we really don't have that much time in any port.

Well, if you don't try riding the islands as a group with the only TA allowed to do this and only on RCCL, you are missing out on a fabulous time!!

  9. Sorry to "steal" this thread but we are looking for Kracker Ken.

  10. Jessemon - Yep, I'm here. Looks like things have slowed down a bit here on this thread since I made the friendly suggestion that many questions have already been answered in the thread. :)

    Ken

    Hey Ken,
