We found on our October Majestic Princess cruise that ordering breakfast (or anything) from the App worked great! Every time we ordered something that way while in our cabin arrived in under 10 minutes.  Special coffee in the AM - in our cabin in under 10 minutes!!!!

Di they charge a fee for room service ?

  2. The Captain's Circle gives $25 OBC on the 21st cruise, $50 on the 31st cruise. Are there higher OBC for the 41st, 51st, or higher cruises?

You receive $75 after your 41st cruise and $100 after your 51st cruise.😀

  3. I am an early riser DW likes to sleep in. I go to the International Cafe on

princess cruise lines. The cafe is open 24 hours. At 6 am fresh donuts are brought out and with a cup of coffee is a pleasant way to start the day. Every morning , the same people will sit and chat, have their coffee and good

Conversation. Very quiet on the ship and sunrise at sea can't be beat.

    Enjoy!

  4. We often travel with family or friends and the key to success is the expectation is that you won't be joined at the hip 24/7. We do however, always eat dinner together, and sometimes need to be flexible with where we eat and what time. Sometimes eating in the buffet makes sense, sometimes eating late or early.

It is everyone's vacation and respect for that fact overrides trying to keep everyone together as a pack!

    Excellent !!!!!

  5. Lance1224,

You get two coffee cards for swapping out your elite mini bar. We have done this numerous times. We love the coffee drinks and are not big on alcoholic beverages, so it is perfect for us.

    Thanks,

PS Where in Florida ? We are leaving for the Venice area, where we have a second home. It is cold here in New England.

  6. In general, there is less of a wait after 8 PM. Also, if you go when the dining room first opens, you are likely to be seated immediately.:)

I agree . We always try go to dinner when the dinning room first opens.

If there is a line at the entrance at one of the dinning rooms , we go the

    other anytime dinning room.

Another hint, if you are in a hurry ,do not be seated at an empty table for ten.

Sometimes the wait staff will wait until the table is mostly full, then ask for everyone's order.

    Enjoy,

  7. EPILOGUE

Before I conclude, to those who have followed along to this point, I thank you for indulging what has undoubtedly been a self-indulgent piece. My hope was to capture the impressions of our travels in a way that would serve as a diary for myself, but also to allow others to re-live their own fantastic trips as well and help others who are thinking about taking a similar cruise. With any luck, our stories and photographs will prove useful for both past and future travelers. I know that your stories, reviews and photos have been a tremendous help to me, so it is only fair that the debt be repaid. I hope that this has been the case. As Norris (Bimmer09) noted above, much of this was “right place at the right time”. But luck is the residue of design and good planning, and I hope that I have given back something useful for future planners.

And now, my closing thought, which, of course, takes me back to yet another, (and unquestionably the most perfect) quote offered by my teenager during the entire trip. Flash back to our last night’s dinner in Sabatini’s. We are enjoying our dessert. And the conversation goes like this:

Her: “Dad. You said that this trip would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip. But I think that it is a once-in-a-lifetime trip that should be done more than once in a lifetime.”

Me: “That is true. And I hope that someday you are able to do this with your family. And I hope that I can do it again too. But remember that a lot of what we did and saw was so perfect that it would be unrealistic to think that we could ever repeat the experience. The 80 degree weather. Not a drop of rain in a rainforest. The whale off the bow. The eagles outside our balcony. The bears at the river. The swimming moose. The perfectly still, reflective lake in the Yukon. The colors at Emerald Lake. The calving glaciers. The breaching whale. All of these things were the result of some planning, but a good bit of luck as well. I don’t know if this could ever be repeated.”

Her: “Yes. But it’ll be fun to try.”

    Indeed it will.

Thank you for sharing you cruise experience. We will be on the south bound cruise on 9/14. Your daughter has a very insightful nature for such a young person. Treasure the time together.:)

  8. I am really enjoying your review. We have done your cruise twice!

You and your family are very lucky to travel together. The memories

will last forever and the stories will be passed on to your children and grandchildren.

DW is the photographer and I keep a hand written journal of our travels. This avoids arguements of when and where.

I went on my first cruise with my parents back in 1967.

They had to ask my high school permission to take me out of school.

The staff was more interested about the cruise.

Have a great time and Happy New year !!!!:)

  9. Hi,

We did a Canada NE cruise a few years ago. We obtained tickets in advance for the mansion on-line. At the time the Doris Duke Mansion limited the number of people on each tour to 10-12 people. They also give you times for the tours. We had a 11:30 am tour that lasted about 1/2 hours. We walked out the front door to be faced with 2 large Princess tour buses.

Newport is a nice town with plenty to see and do.

    Lance1224:)

  10. I always pack some powdered drink mix, i.e Gatorade, Crystal Lite.

I drink a lot of water especially on Caribbean cruises .:)

DW always packs the power strip for the computer so we can download the pictures we take from the digital camera.

    Enjoy your cruise !!!!!
