  1. My extended family and I are booked on the Pride in May, and we all booked Early Saver last year. In my brother's cabin it was supposed to be him, his girlfriend, and he girlfriend's daughter. Well (surprise!) they have broken up. I told him I am sure he will incur change fees in order to remove their names from the reservation since we booked ES, but now he also wants to move from a cabin for 3 to a cabin for 2 and find another travel companion. All he has paid thus far was the deposit- final payment is 3/14/17. What's the best course of action to suggest to him? Thanks in advance!

What did your travel agent say?

  2. Can I ask what was so bad?

6 days in a row, put out my thing for morning breakfast, no breakfast

You get a baked potato at dinner, no one came with sour cream or cheese for it

Waited over an hour for a drink waiter on deck.....

    That's just top of mind....

  3. Sadly, the whole ship is like that... They tried to fit too much in, and made all the rooms a LOT smaller. While the ship is larger, inside it feels like the rooms ate 1/2 the size they are on the smaller Fantasy class ships.

agreed, the ship added beds, but the amenities did not scale. front desk needed more people, pizza place was slow.... I was not impressed at all.

  4. Many years ago there were no automatic gratuities. I noticed a lot of people didn't come to dinner the last night when we were giving envelopes. I would have to assume they didn't tip their room Steward either. So I get the auto grats being in place.

True, they are not automatic. They are optional and modify-able.

  5. Less workers = bigger % for those still employed and yet Carnival still raised it. They basically gave the workers a raise without it coming out of their pocket.

good way of viewing it..... Although service was so bad on the Vista last week, I didn't pay the full amount.

  6. i cruised on the Norwegian Sun this past June on an Alaskan cruise. it was my first Norwegian cruise and this was one of the best features on the ship that i wish Carnival would also start. you could go to the sports bar i think up until 5 am and order off a set menu. you could get hot wings, hamburger, salads, soups, fries, and other bar type foods all for free. and the food was made to order so it was fresh. it was great. we spent a lot of time in this bar anyway because it was on a high deck with great views of the sea and to be able to order real food late at night for free was great!

agreed, one of the things I really like about NCL.

  7. Very often they have 1 guy running the whole place and periodically everything stops so he can make more and by the time he makes 5 or so the conveyor is empty.

even 2 guys really isn't enough to keep things moving... need a bigger pizzeria, as that's the only food you can get after a certain point, unless you have over an hour for room service.

Pizza was pretty good tho, for a ship.
