My twins had this come up we had to go to the internet help desk and they set up special passwords for them that were not their birthdays.

Good to know.  My twin daughters are saiiling in June and sharing a cabin.  Maybe not all that uncommon.

  2. I have the Plus package on my upcoming cruise, which gives me wi-fi for 1 device.  I plan to purchase the MedallionNet package for 4 devices.  Will I then have access to wi-fi on 5 devices, or am I capped at 4 devices.  I plan to share with my travel companions.

  3. I have a related question.  I am traveling on the Caribbean Princess in June, with four others who are in a suite.  I'm not in a suite.  I booked a table for 5 in the Crown Grill on embarkation day.  Specialty restaurants are included at no charge for suite guests.  My credit card was charged $39 for my reservation even though I have substantial OBC.  I'm not sure if this is because final payment has not been made.

Does anyone know if, after final payment, I can use my OBC to pay for my meal and get the $39 credited back to my card?  Would I have to cancel my existing reservation  and make a new reservation?

I just booked air with Air Canada...wanted seat selection so I paid in full for the air portion of our cruise;  was given a booking #;  accessed AC website, keyed in my booking # and then allowed to book my seats.  If you booked economy there is a charge per seat.  Air by Celebrity issued a confirmation showing air paid and cruise balance owing.  Easy to do.

Thanks for the information.  I guess you can't always trust what the agents at Air by Celebrity tell you.  I'll contact my TA to see about paying for the flights now so I can select our seats.

ir Canada will not allow you to choose your seats until you pay the premium in full.

i just booked our European flights in/out of Rome for our Sept. cruise & I have to tell you that Celebrity Air was way cheaper than the same flights on Air Canada.
I will pay in full when the Premium seats start to disappear.

I booked Business on Air Canada through Celebrity.  Not the end of the world if we can't select seats now.I

  6. I wondered about this too.  Some airlines will allow seat selection as soon as booked, others won't.  A Flights by Celebrity agent told me that Celebrity pays for the flights (and the tickets are issued) about a month before the flight regardless of when you pay the flight in full.  The airline in question for me is Air Canada.

  7. A layover of 95 minutes in ORD seems a little risky to me.  You know you will have to go through immigration there.  Even if you have Global Entry.   You will likely have a terminal change as well.  I hope you aren't trying to catch the last flight of the day to your destination.

Talked to my wife. She doesn’t want to drive to CVG, despite the advantages. However, she agreed with the idea of not flying through Canada. So I canceled my previous flights and booked these:

    March 25

    LH9133 to ORD

    LH431 to FRA

    LH326 to VCE

    April 9

    LH1809 BCN to MUC

    LH434 to ORD

    LH9166 to SDF

All of my layovers are about 4 hours, except the last is 95 min. I know that sounds like an awful lot of waiting, but my wife feels safer about making connections this way and will be more relaxed.  Also saved some money.

  9. I called Flights by Celebrity to change a booking that I made a few weeks ago for an upcoming cruise in Europe next April.  We had decided to go a day earlier than originally planned, and I found a good fare on Celebrity's site for the new flight.  The agent confirmed that the flights we wanted were available and when he quoted the fare, it was almost $500 more than the flight Celebrity was offering.  I asked why the difference and the agent told me that the price shown was only an "estimate" and since I was rebooking, that would be the price (the same price the airline was offering for the same flights).  The other person on my cruise reservation has not booked a flight, so I tried booking the same flights for her and the total was the lower price.  Does anyone know if it's possible to cancel a reservation (by calling the agent) and later book a new flight on-line?  If it matters, final payment isn't due until January.  Has anyone else had a similar situation?

  10. I like to order coffee from room service each morning.  What do you consider an appropriate tip for the room service waiter?  This is my first time on Oceania.  My previous cruises were on Princess, and I generally tipped the waiter $2 each time.  Does this sound about right?

I don't think I would have the nerve to do this, but just wondering:  Does anyone do this with 2 completely different countries?  I'm looking to book a cruise that departs from Bali, then has 2 sea days before getting to Australia.  I have no idea what the flight situation would be, but one thing's sure:  I'd rather spend 1 or 2 days in Bali rather than being at sea.  Has anyone done anything that nervy?  I guess this would be similar to what a poster above has mentioned (Bali).

In our case, we will be leaving the ship in Latvia and rejoining the next day in Lithuania.  Both countries are in the Schengen area so it should not be a problem.  Of course, we will clear it with Oceania if we decide to do this.

  12. We will be in Riga Latvia in June, and will be meeting some relatives there for the first time.  They have invited us to spend the night at their home to celebrate the Latvian mid-summer festival (Ligo) and will drive us to Klaipeda Lithuania the next day to rejoin the ship.  Will Oceania allow this with advance notice?  It is an opportunity we hate to pass up.

Has anyone ever created their own overnight?

  13. Yes..our group was told to call...You'll have no problem with 13 of you but I would certainly mention it when you make that call. You can also call and speak to the front desk before your arrival to give them a heads up for your large group.
Thank you. Good idea. We travel a week from today. I can hardly wait!
  14. Do you need to call for the hotel shuttle to Hyatt Place? From their website, it sounds like the shuttle is scheduled every 30 minutes and you just wait in the hotel shuttle pickup area for it to come.

Also, we are a group of 13 arriving on the same flight. Is the shuttle big enough to accommodate our group?

You're so very welcome.....Just be patient with expecting a quick response from Valuetrips....If you've gotten nothing from them within a few weeks (which isn't unusual) call Hyatt Place front desk directly (not the reservation number) and give them your name and dates...more than likely they will have your reservation....from then on you deal directly with Hyatt Place...Remember be patient VT sends batches of reservations to Hyatt Place....The price you will get using VT is the best price you will find...some on here just expect immediate confirmation and that's not the case here...regardless that, they are a very popular website to book the Hyatt Place in Fort Lauderdale and so there's the delay factor at times.

Of course you can use a taxi or Uber but once you get your luggage and make the call to the front desk their shuttle comes very quickly..this worked out so well for a few of our family members that arrived after us.

I know you'll enjoy the Hyatt Place ... have a great cruise.

  15. Kristel, are there changing facilities and/or restrooms at Lighthouse Beach?

I'll pipe in on the "is there any other thing to do at the beach" part... Kristel with Eleuthera Tours and fellow cruiser here.

We do also go to the ruins of an old church which are pretty cool. Make sure to stress you want to see the church, as most of the time guests want to get right to the beach. I always stop at the church, but Donald sometimes does not. So just mention it.

When at the beach you can explore along the cliff tops and check out the lighthouse and check out some shallow caves. The snorkeling is excellent and really close to the shore, if that's your thing. We do provide snorkel gear free of charge. And, it's miles of deserted beaches both on the ocean side and bay side for you to walk. Don't forget about the unlimited rum punch, if sitting in a chair under a palm tree with drink in hand, looking at the most gorgeous turquoise waters lapping the shore of a pink sand beach is what soothes your soul!
