Honestly, I feel like all of the pre-booking and hoping prices drop is just going to result in the prices remaining high or going higher. What incentive would they have to drop the prices if people are already pre-booking at the higher prices?

I am on a sailing coming up shortly , now that prices are dropping below what people paid, they are moving up to cabins in a higher class, and are happy.

Considering booking Encore for 2020 Bermuda run from NYC so thought I would join this thread and follow along for all the fun discussion!

Where are you getting this info? Doesn't look like NCL has announced anything beyond April for Europe (with exception to saying one ship will summer there so far) and with the new video of Encore stressing the artist hometown of Barcelona, I'd say it's almost a guarantee that the ship is summering in the Meditaranean.

I think it would be a missed opportunity for Norwegian if they don't put Studio Cabins in the Joy just like they have on their other big ships

I sent a note to a VP I met on the Bliss in June. Told him I was dissapointed no solo cabins. I reccommended they take some of the ID or IC cabins and make them solo prices, and let us use a meeting room for meetings

Longshot but did you ask pcc if you could potentially switch to a Skagway sailing? My sailing dropped glacier bay and Skagway too. I talked to my husband about the switch and new itinerary and he’s not up for it either. I know it’s a great deal compared to list pricing but we are probably going to pass. We don’t have airfare or anything to worry about so might see if we can get a good last minute rate when the time comes. If you’re fine without perks, Bliss Alaska for this fall has come down quite a bit.

I did ask my Pcc and he said, no, and I know him well, they are instructing them to charge the higer price for the Skaway the week before.

I love the Bliss, and am sure I would love the new Joy

I will rework my 2019 cruises, it was the only one my spouse was going on

The retrofit to replicate the Bliss, did not include solo cabins. I sent an email off to a VP I met on the Bliss to express my dissapointment. My solo friends and I will stick to the Bliss, Epic, Escape, Breakaway and Getaway.

I was booked for Pearl that flipped to the Joy with my spouse, but the week I am going dropped Skagway, which was our main objective for the railway. They did upgrade my cabin without a charge. But no Skagway no trip.

Perhaps it went to your spam? I got an email from my pcc and also a general do not reply notice from Ncl. Basically it announced the ship change, said price is the same, same dates, same or better stateroom category and new room assignments would show up sometime this week. I checked a while ago and Mine shows everything the same with pricing and perks, just on the joy and no stateroom assignment.

 

After reading about the Bliss and joy a little more I’m kind of excited to finally get a push to try a mega ship. I’ve always stuck with what I know I like-the smaller ships.

 

Edit- go to your online checkin page on my Ncl. My stateroom assignment shows there.

Checked my spam nothing, my pcc had nothing, just checked myncl, perks are there, payment of deposit is there, no cabin assignment

Sent PCC another note tonight. Going to see if I can find a copy of the email letter people got

Are you booked with a Travel agent or directly with Ncl? Sometimes Travel agents can be a little slow passing on the information like this. Regardless you can login to your my Ncl account and the new itinerary and ship should be in place of your Pearl sailing. The staterooms haven’t been reassigned yet but likely will in the next few days. The new stateroom will be in same or better. Same pricing, same dates, same reservation number, same perks. Just now shows Joy. My May, 2019 itinerary changed a little but depending on the sailing date, it sounds like the itineraries will differ a little.

I booked with Ncl , no email in myncl or from NCL, But my reservation flipped with no cabin assigned in MYNCL

Did they have solo cabins on the pearl? Were you going to be a solo cabin?

Pearl sailings are cancelled for Alaska for 2019, The JOY is taking all bookings for alaska

I was two solos with my sister, my first balcony in 2 years.

We find out official if no solostudios next week

Have we heard if Encore will have a covered Haven pool area? Or will it be set up for warmer cruises?

 

With Joy staying on the West coast year round, I wonder what year round plans will be for Encore and Bliss.

Bliss and Encore itineraries, at least for now are already set thru April 2020.

We find out this week officially where Joy fits in. They already deleted my Pearl/Alaska Aug 2019 and slotted Joy(no cabin yet).

I would think/hope that NCL, being the inovator that it is known to be, would be looking for new venues, new ports, new ways of exploring... of course I could be wrong, I've been wrong before but, it excites me to see so many new ships being built. One can hope :D

The sad note, heard there will be no Studios for solos

I hope everyone has noted that the $50M transformation of the Joy will begin in Shanghai but WILL BE COMPLETED ON THE REPOSITIONING CRUISE to Victoria. So no one can complain about construction on this cruise. I wonder if fares on this TP will be discounted to reflect this? Might make it a great deal.

MyNCL lists Mini Golf on deck 19 as one of the onboard activities. Can someone who's been on the Bliss confirm or deny that there's actually mini golf?

Late August Meyer Werft should dock out the Aida Nova, then we see weekly pics of Encore growing, yeah.

Many travel agencies in US, you can Ask if they take a foreign credit cards, and change to US funds. We have a gal who lives in Germany that books US NCL trips all the time with a conversion. Also ask your credit card if you can pay in US funds. If you can, the rules for refunds should be the same as ours, full refund before 120 days of sailing.

I would book it on the $50 promo, if you are not thinking haven or suites, and revise the reservation if the price goes down.

Prices envitably go up.
