  1. I am told by P&O that it is the carrier, i.e. Jet2, that stipulates the luggage allowance. I don't actually want more luggage allowance; I just want to take one carry-on bag of 10kg max onto the flight (and around the airport); and put the remaining allowance of up to 54kg into the hold. I don't mind paying for this personal preference, but we are not permitted to do so. Est quod id est, as they say. As an aside, I do not like the idea of cabin bags weighing 10kg, as I am always anxious that they may fall out of the overhead locker - ouch!
  2. Well, having spoken to both Jet2 and P&O, it appears passengers are being mis-informed. Our booking states that if we wish to increase our luggage allowance, we must contact the airline. I did this and was first advised by Jet2 that it can be actioned directly with P&O. I disputed this, based on the information from the P&O booking. Then, Jet2 provided me with the portal address in which to achieve this. However, a tour operator number is required, i.e. from P&O. I did not have this, so I called P&O. I spoke to someone after 32 minutes on hold. They tried hard but could not answer the question, and subsequently called me back later. They state (contrary to their booking information) that when passengers are travelling on a chartered flight, we are not permitted any additional luggage allowance. So, case closed (or not ! if you pardon the pun).
  3. We want to increase our hold luggage allowance on our next cruise. We're happy to pay for a little extra. Has anyone managed to do this on a Jet2 flight? You can do it through the Jet2 website, but require a tour operator booking reference from P&O. Anyone know what it is?
  4. We did it last time we were on Britannia, and absolutely loved it. I still do the recipe that we had. Yes, you have to stand, but I'm sure you could ask for a stool. Well worth doing.
  5. Great news that you managed to see the night-time views, after all. We've been to NYC several times, and always made arrangements independently.
  6. Having gone that far, and if the weather was pleasant, I would have purchased another ticket independently; gone up to the top, then taken a cab back to the ship if it was inconvenient for the booked transportation to wait (or return for us later). We've been up the ESB on a clear autumnal day, and enjoyed fabulous views. It was fun picking out all the landmarks, etc. If it was a clear night, the views would have been worth it, I'm sure. Shame that you didn't get to enjoy your excursion.
  7. We're sailing on Silhouette next month: does anyone know if they still provide kettles in the cabin. Morning coffee as soon as my eyes open is the only way to start my day! 😃 Also, can I take my favourite soft drinks on board/ I don't like fizzy drinks, or sugar-high juices.
  8. Thanks everyone, that's all very clear. Now to tell Mrs ScotchBoy not to pack the tiara................... 🤭
  9. Hi, quick question:- will I need to take black tie/tuxedo on my Celebrity cruise? I have plenty of blazers, but am more concerned about needing a tux and not having one with me. TIA
  10. Hi, loving your posts. We're back on Azura later this year, after a 6 year hiatus, doing a 7 night in/out of Tenerife. Can't wait! We love the Glass House; is it as good as it always was?
  11. Crikey! So drinks, tips, wifi are included. Good deal indeed. I presume that the drinks are the Classic package, and we could upgrade if we felt the need, once on board. This makes us very happy 😆 Thanks All.
  12. Just checking my invoice for Silhouette cruise in June. Only our third Celebrity cruise and I'm unfamiliar with the codes. Anyone know what ALLINCBOGO75 means? It's noted twice. TIA 🙂
  13. Our September flight is at 6:00am from Bristol. I would think it's the same for each Malta flight from Bristol, on a Thursday morning.
