I am wondering if the replacement of San Juan and St Thomas with HMC and Nassau could warrant some sort of onboard credit. It has to be cheaper to dock at those two spots. Thanks..
-
I do have another question for those onboard..what are the port arrival and departure times? I'd like an idea if this is part of my nov 4 route.

The Magic has been doing 6 and 8 day cruises for a while. 9-24-17 will be the last 6 day cruise and the 9-16-17 sailing was the last 8 day. from the 9-30 sailing on it will be doing 7 day from then on.
Ty..close thread..lol
-
Has been changed from 4 stops to 3 stops and also to western ports.
That obviously is understandable but I don't understand why it's now a 6 day and not 7 day..carnivals site says 6 days..doesn't seem to compute..
There has to be tons of flights scheduled for a 7 day cruise.
Any info would be appreciated..

Well, it hasnt hit Gt yet so it may miraculously turn. I dont think GT will be open for at least 8 weeks.

my nov 4 itinerary WAS San Juan, St Thomas, Grand Turk and Dominican Rep....There is no way we go to any of those spots. Now i just have to wait and see..wouldnt surprise me if we didnt know exactly where we will go until 24 hrs before the ship leaves..Carnival has to hold their cards to the vest..
-
Replacing GT with Amber Cove for now.
huh, i thought heald said grand turk was already open for business and carnival was sailing for her? My cruise already in november has grand turk and st thomas..looks like i am on the main mystery cruise.

A friend shared a video just a little while ago. The Shack survived! I'm so happy for them!
here is the question..is it possible that the shack and beach area may be open in early november?
-
Well, if my Travel Agent says it will be closed that it will be closed.:DI would wait and see if this is even accurate. We will find out as soon as the first shop arrives -
i agree. maybe the main public beaches are closed..i dont know.Wonder why the beach would be closed? I mean CCL maintains that beach at the end of the dock....seems like they could clean it up fairly quickly....no real infrastructure there. -
dont flame me for saying this as i am just reporting...my travel agent just told me that although the grand turk port is open, the beaches will be closed until december 14.
it looks like margaritaville will be operational but no swimming or walking on the beach..

isnt this like me buying an olive garden $50 gift card and using it on myself when i can just forego buying the card and just pay $50 for the meal?
I dont see the advantage..i do see the advantage if someone knew i was cruising and bought 2 gift cards for me to apply towards my cruise..what am i missing?

are the tubs normal sized. my wife likes to take a bath and we are looking at that option.
-
i guess nothing. you are so right. what was i thinking. What has changed? You describe the way it was and is (MDR and Lido). Offering other options are just that....options. I guess I can't see your viewpoint. What would be different on a smaller/older/less options ship? -
just get a spa treatment like a facial, massage, pedi or mani and then you can use the spa all that day for free.
-
but have more xtra cost venues? At some point the only dining options that come with the base cost of the ship will be dining room and lido.
It looks like i would rather cruise a smaller ship and not have the choices if that is how it is.

done Carnival and Royal Carribean. Without a doubt Royal Caribbean looks to take your money in slick ways. Carnival is cut and dried. I thought i was getting something at no cost on RCI and all i heard was "seapass please"..
Best example was very first morning aboard at breakfast. i walked into the windjammer and they had fresh squeezed oj that the staff was happily handing out. I took an oj and heard "seapass please" thats $1.75..i put it down and walked away.
Then there is the upcharge on more things. Im sorry but if im paying $2000 for my wife and i on a ship i dont want to feel nickel and dimed all week. That would only get worse on Bigger ships. Of course, more dining options would be added, but at what cost to the cruiser?
-
but, the luggage was ON the ship, did they get to the ship 1/2 hour before departure? Sorry but this makes no sense. Get an officer or security person, and retrieve the luggage. Most people arrive several hours early. This is why we never leave U.S. soil without a passport which is either in my computer bag or my wife's purse.
if they had a passport like you, i would bet it would be in thier luggage.:o

Probably will bypass amber cove since its just a big pool. i can sit by a pool onboard. I just wondered if everything was closed up.
