I'm convinced Celebrity and Royal use the same person to create and maintain their websites, both are a disaster. Very clunky and the filter function to search for cruises is just ridiculous. I wish they would test these things out first and have professionals create them in the first place.

You must know some mucking-mucks because nobody at Next Cruise will confirm that for me!

It's all over Royal's website and Facebook page:

Are we thinking Tuesday they'll open for both AUS and NA? Won't that have those of us in NA booking a day after those in AUS or do I have the whole dateline thing confused?
Royal Caribbean have Tuesday 16th listed on all Australian material and my local TA has also said Tuesday 16th.
So that will be Monday (probably late Monday) for North America.

I did the transatlantic on Royal Caribbean Independence of the Seas in October 2014.
As above, the first 4 days is cold, wet and windy - but there is enough to do inside. After the first 4 days it gets hot and stays hot.
I'd do it again, I had a balcony cabin and paid about $800 AUD, I booked directly on the Royal Caribbean website.
If you're using a TA they may be able to get you details or deals on speciality. Once you book it on the Royal website you can go into the details of your booking (the event planner) and can buy dining packages, drink packages, shore excursions etc.
Enjoy the cruise.

Still waiting for Australia to be released....
Tuesday, Tuesday! Not long to go.
The time waiting as now caused me to find more Royal Itineraries that I'm interested in. Once Tuesday comes I'm booking 4!

Princess has done that itinerary a few times - Indian Ocean Odyssey. It was a 47 or 49 night itinerary. We were planning to go in 2009, but family stuff got in the way, so we went in 2011. On both those cruises Princess had to discount the prices to fill the ship. The starting price was just over $5,000pp. By the way, the cruise was great.
Wow, did not know this, will have to look into it. Thanks

I don't know why they don't have more cruises based in Perth, I'd fly from over east if they had good ports.
You could have Perth cruises going to Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Christmas Island, Indonesian islands etc.
Then you could have even longer cruises that could maybe visit South Africa, Madagascar, Reunion, Mauritius, Maldives, India or Sri Lanka. Plenty of options and I think people would fly to Perth for it.

I did one on Radiance, wasn't too keen but actually loved it. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed the dinner.

I have seen the expected release date for the Radiance April 2019 to Hawaii (18 night). Calculating from there I would expect the next leg of Honolulu to Vancouver to be May 7, 2019. I have not seen a release date for that segment yet. Can we expect it to be released At the same time as the Australia - Hawaii segment?
They should get released together, I did both of these B2B last year and they were released the same day, was great as I was able to have the same cabin the whole way. About 300 pax did B2B and most had the same cabin due to booking early at the same time.

May I ask where you found this information? I have been looking for this for some time!
I got an email from Royal with a brochure showing all the 2018/2019 sailings on Ovation, Explorer and Radiance. If you like I'll post screen shots of the whole list?

Has the transpacific from Australia already been released?!
Yes,
Sydney to Seattle on Explorer
Sydney to Hawaii on Radiance
Nothing new, they go on sale 16 May.

Oh, didn't realize that. Still hoping for Ovation, lol.
Nope, Ovation has an itinerary to go from Sydney back to Singapore in March 2019 as usual. No TP for Ovation :(

Am I the only one annoyed by the 2018/2019 Australia release?
I was really expecting a new ship or new itineraries. Instead we get reduced from 4 ships to 3 (5 to 3 if you consider no replacement for legend in Brisbane).
And no real new itineraries. What's with all the New Zealand cruises, I like to go somewhere warm for my cruises and when I've cruised to NZ (in summer) it's bloody freezing, not to mention you can only do it so many times.
Think it's time to start looking at what other cruise lines have on offer. Was expecting to be wow'd, but just disappointed.

Just got the new program from Royal.
So voyager won't be back in Australia for 2018/2019 season, it's only Ovation, Explorer and Radiance :/
Sale date is 16 May, but all the cruises are listed on the program.

How do you know this as I called RC today and no one knew when Australia would be released?
My TA emailed me the other day and said his contact at RC advised him 27th. No idea how good his contact is.

Anyone on Voyager from Sydney to Singapore?
Yep I am, with my other half. Counting down the days now!

Me too. I enjoy the Voyager class and smaller ships and hate the mega liners. We went on Oasis once and decided it was way too big and crowded for us. We cruise to go somewhere not to just enjoy the ship.
While I agree with this, I'm now finding when I sail out of Australia I'm looking more for the experience of the ship - there are limited ports Australian based ships sail to and we've done them all already. I find I do international sailings based on the ports and prefer Aussie ones for the ship. So in this instance I'd love them to bring a mega liner here.
In saying that, I've never done an Oasis class or Quantum class (I've been worried they're too big). I've got Harmony booked next year and will do Ovation when it comes back so will see how they are. The largest I've done is Freedom class and was happy with that.
With the ships being too big for ports down here, you can see that already with Ovation. It doesn't do any of the tropical pacific islands and only goes to New Zealand. Maybe Royal will do what they did in the Caribbean and improve the ports in those islands?

It would be great if RCI offered some more interesting itineraries to include the Great Barrier Reef. We have a cruise booked next year from Sydney to Snfapore but I am probably going to cancel as RCI has dropped Port Douglas from the itinerary and there are now very few port stops on a 14 night cruise.
I'm doing that one in 10 days, shame they're dropping a port. Have a look at the Sydney to Singapore on Ovation, it does similar ports and also includes Malaysia.

I know there has been a bit of chatter on possible changes to the ships, I am going to book the TP regardless and take my chances.
I am going to call everyday starting on the 12th, they'll be sick and tired of me...lol
Thanks for posting the updated deployment sheet.
Belinda
Oooooh.... what have you heard about the ship changes?
Yea I'm definitely booking the TP one once available. I want the one that goes via Bora Bora, have done it on Rhapsody and Radiance so hope they change to a bigger ship like Voyager/Explorer.

The Australia/New Zealand release keep changing, anyone know why?
First it was 3rd April
Then it was 10 April
Then it was 12 April
Now it's TBD.
I'm hanging out to book the Sydney to Honolulu or reverse again.
Anyone know the hold up? Are they possibly changing ships down this way?
At the moment our season has Voyager, Explorer, Radiance and Ovation.
Will I need an International Driving Permit (IDP)?

Not required. The IDP acts more as a translation document for your licence so if your licence is in English (which US ones are) it's not needed. Just make sure you carry your US one with you all times when driving.
