  1. Hi

Has anyone got any tips of a DIY trip to see the turtles. NCL have an offering which we'd be happy to book, but we are also up for saving money too :)

The ncl trip is called 'Turtle Cove Catamaran Sail & Snorkel'

Also, does anyone know if the turtles that are mentioned as being seen actually wild or are they kept in 'real life' looking pools / lagoons?

    Thanks

  2. Hey

Any recommendations on what to do after disembarking and having a flight late at night?

I see ncl offer up some trips which include sorting out your baggage and taking you to the airport. I just think the prices seem a bit excessive for what appears to be just adding on some and airport transfer and sorting a suitcase (I guess it would come on the coach with you)

    Thanks in advance

  3. Wow, who ever thought a forum could be so popular and extensive.

So please accept my apologies if this has already been discussed before.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me some names of some good direct shore excursion companies, or even provide the links to the threads where I may find these.

Ive seen some companies on line, but without reviews etc, so its nice to get actual feedback from a lot of you guys who definitely know what your talking about.

If anyone had read any of my posts before you may know we are first time cruisers and as with any of our travels, we like to make sure some of our spends goes to helping local businesses and not just the tour operators.

We will be going to (in january)

    St Thomas - US VI

    Tortola

    Nassau

    Roatan

    Harvest Caye

    Cozumel

    Costa Maya

    Thanks in advance

  4. Hi,

Apologies if this duplicates. I have searched through threads and been unsuccessful.

Are there any private companies offering excursions here or is it only via NCL direct?

This is our first cruise, so would like to see what everyone has on offer rather than just sticking to NCL. We like to share the love

  5. DJ = dinner jacket. Very British. :)

OP: even if you can do it, please don't remove the Daily Service Charge. This goes to a lot of crew, including behind the scenes, who work hard to make sure you have a wonderful cruise. Which I hope you do!

We have no plans to remove it, it's just a very bizarre thing to get my head around. You pay for a cruise and then judging by the replies here, pay for the crews salary ontop. This feels morally wrong to me in some ways. Maybe I am misunderstanding the point, but shouldn't the cruise line be paying their staff regardless? I always tip for good service, at my own discretion, just feels a bit cheeky that we don't have that choice.

  6. Hi,

I've never cruised before but am doing 2 back to back Caribbean cruises with ncl in January from Miami. Luckily we have an alcoholics drinks pack included.

People are giving me mixed messages about what to expect, is anyone able to help with the following:

Should you book excursions with ncl / via an online agent / at the port

Service charge : can it be removed? i know members of the party say it can, but online reviews say it can't. Would be nice to know where we stand on this.

Dress code : is it really an informal as people say? Again I'm getting mixed

Thanks in advance and apologies if this duplicates any other post
