I have been looking at replacement cruises for my 8 day Empress in January........Is it me or is every other cruise over double the cost right now? i looked at RCI Celebrity Holland NCL and Princess... all of the prices seem really high right now.

I personally love the Paradise. I’ve been in it several times, but I live in the Tampa Bay Area so it’s convenient for me. Port of Tampa is easy to navigate.
The ship seems to have been updated nicely, and traffic flow seems better on these smaller ships. I like the entertainment options and the crew seems less frazzled on the Fantasy class ships.
Enjoy the cruise. It’s a nice view leaving the Port or Tampa. The ship passes by some nice neighborhoods, then downtown St Pete, then under the Sunshine Skyway bridge.
We live on the other end of RT 60, so its about the same for us to drive to tampa or miami. We sailed out of Tampa, but its been a few years... we like smaller ships too. I am not interested in a 5000 passenger city!

Thanks for all the great replies! The "ledge" looks interesting,, not in love with the RED accents in the room!
fortunately, this is a Roatan / Cozumel cruise, that gets into port at 11 am, so no early morning anchors!
-
I too would love some Bermuda options from Florida!

Anyone have experience with a porthole cabin on this class? it was the same price as an inside. Is the room shaped add because of its location? Can you actually see out the window?
I have cabin R12 booked..
thanks!

Thanks for all of the great replies! i too am hoping that we actually get to sail on the Empress.. After going online and trying to find an available jr suite, and finding none , i got lucky and and found 9664!

If you have been lucky enough to stay in this cabin, please tell me about it! after many tries, i finally found it available for my January 2021 sailing!

I agree 100% your cruise experience is up to you! I sailed on the Victory. I tend to like smaller ships, and i could not pass on this deal! I am just looking for the good, bad and ugly on the Paradise, so i know what to expect!

I just pulled the trigger on the Paradise for September. I am a frequent cruiser, Diamond with RCCL, but only 1 past Carnival. I am open minded, and easy going,
Tell me all about the Paradise, and what to expect!

I was hoping that some crew members would post you tube videos of life on empty ships. There is one guy named Chris Wong posting, and he is on the Oasis. Would love some from Celebrity!

I believe the same thing is happening to carnival's Fascination that is based in PR.

Maybe Host Bob can come out of retirement and pin this to the top. I'm sure this will go down in CC history 😂🤣
What is your itinerary for this sailing?
OOOH I bet they are going somewhere really exotic like St Thomas!

Crew moves around on all cruise lines, especially the entertainment.

If you are renting a car......try Grand Case beach on the french side....one of the most scenic beaches on the island, and the best Guavaberry drinks too!!

* The Social Hostess
* Cova Cafe
* the HORIZON ( my favorite ship)
