  1. I think you would be best to pick just two so that you aren't cutting it too close.  We've been three times and our drivers always get us back in time - I wouldn't say they guarantee it but their livelihood depends on it so they are very aware of the need to be back on time.  Our last two visits we've used Ricardo Riley with libertytoursjamaica.com and he was wonderful.  You can tell he loves what he does - makes sure you are safe and comfortable and having fun.  Hope you have a great trip!

  2. Give Ricardo Riley with libertytoursjamaica.com a try.  They did our tour and it was a fantastic day.  Very professional and we always felt safe and secure.  It was a private tour so we weren't waiting on others.  You can tell that they love what they do.  We had kids in our group too and they kept them entertained.  Hope you have a great trip!

  3. We used Ricardo Riley with libertytoursjamaica.com and he was super speedy in replying.  It's actually why we picked them because of their promptness.  The tour was one of the best we've been on.  They did an awesome job!

  4. Contact Ricardo Riley with libertytoursjamaica.com.  He will take you on a private tour.  He did ours and it was one of the best excursions we've ever been on.  Super helpful, made us feel safe the entire time, and you can tell they love doing their jobs.  We had a great day with them.  Hope you guys do too.

  5. I don't know who you contacted and I'm guessing that it will work out fine but in case you wanted to switch we used Ricardo with libertytoursjamaica.com at this same port and he provided us lots of information ahead of time of where exactly to meet our driver.  He gave us names and phone numbers as well of who do look for when we got off of the ship.  It worked great and we were off and our way to a fantastic day in no time.  I'm a planner like you and not knowing would have me anxious - lol.  Either way I hope you have a great trip!

  6. We used Ricardo with libertytoursjamaica.com to do this same excursion and the experience was fantastic.  Their communication was awesome and they made sure you were safe and well taken care of the entire time.  We had one driver that stayed with us the entire time instead of leaving us and coming back like some others do.  Our family had people from age 9-65 and everyone had a great time.  Hope they can help you too and that you have a great trip!

  7. It took us all over the island on less than a tank of gas. We even revisited some spots a second time once we had seen everything. We took ours on the beach, on dirt roads, on the regular roads, on some very, very bumpy roads and had absolutely no problem. We went to the usual spots (the lighthouse, Cockburn town, the conch shell cemetery, Jacks Shack) but also went off the beaten path some to explore on our own. The people there are super friendly so we never hesitated asking for directions or what else we could go see. Hope you have fun!

  8. Do you know how much to rent a golf cart? We would be fine with a 2 seater.. but would rent the 6 seater if that is all they had

I think they had two seaters and four seaters - our 6 seater was 130.00 for the day.

  9. We did the Blue Hole from Falmouth and it was a ton of fun. We had kids in our group about those same ages and they loved it. We used Ricardo Riley with libertytoursjamaica after finding great reviews on Trip Advisor. Our trip included the transportation and entry fees into the Blue Hole as well as our lunch at Scotchies. It's one of the best tours we've been on. Ricardo was very thorough and we felt very safe. Hope you have a wonderful time doing whatever you pick.

  10. We rented the 6 seater from them last week and he was great. Very easy to deal with - met him right outside the gate. You can actually see them from port side on the ship and that made it easier for us to see where we were headed. That thing sure did backfire occasionally - lol. Always caught us off guard and made us all laugh. Had a great day touring the island and would rent from them again. Hope you have fun!

  11. I think if you are porting in Ocho Rios you would have time for both but if you are in Falmouth or Montego Bay you are better off picking one or the other. We've been to both and absolutely loved the Blue Hole. We went with libertytoursjamaica.com and would recommend them in a heartbeat. In fact, might be best to use them over a taxi because they have connections and can have your guides waiting for you when you arrive. They had lunch ready for us at Scotchies and it saved us the time of standing in line with everyone else. Hope you have a wonderful trip no matter what you decide!

  12. This is my opinion only and some will disagree but I say don't ever just stay on the ship. Every stop has so many fun things to do and see. We used to do our excursions through the ship but have found that it works out so much better to use a highly recommended tour guide because it's almost always cheaper and the best part is that it is way more individualized. You aren't herded through with such a big group. With all of that said - we used Ricardo with libertytoursjamaica to go see the Blue Hole/Island Tour/and lunch at Scotchies for our group and it was one of the best tours we've ever been on. Our entire group thought the day was fantastic. Whatever you pick - I hope you guys have a great trip!

  13. Hahahaha - you made me laugh. Our family still talks about that ridiculous walk to the cave tubing in Belize as well - all while trying to carry your tube. We had about 8 kids under the age of 12 and they weren't having it. I don't think I could talk them into doing it again if I tried.

Sorry - I don't know the answer to your question. I was hoping to find the answer out as well. We're going to give it a try but would like to know what to expect. I've read in some places it's about 35 minutes. We shall see.

  14. We used Ricardo with Liberty Tours (libertytoursjamaica.com). We found them through great reviews on Trip Advisor and were very pleased with their service. We've used them twice now and would book them again in a heartbeat if we ever stop in Jamaica again. Hope they can help you out. You can tell that they love what they do and do their best to show you a wonderful time.

  15. We've been to both and we loved the Blue Hole. It is by far less traveled and not as touristy. We got to go at our own pace and explore as much as we wanted. We had an all around awesome day for that tour. I will say it is a little harder and longer to get to. Dunn's also is beautiful but it was very crowded and we just followed each other up with everyone holding hands. It just felt more like an assembly line. You can't go wrong though with either - hope you have a great trip!

  16. here are the meeting instructions from Shore Excursioneer regarding our day pass to Royalton Sands. Does anyone know if this involves leaving the secure port area? Where is this large white tent? In or out?

    Falmouth Cruise Terminal

For this excursion you will meet your guide at your Falmouth Cruise Terminal. After leaving the ship and

entering the terminal, walk on your right all the way to the end of the terminal building and towards the

car/bus park. At the end of the building, you will see the port dispatchers, tell the dispatchers you are

looking for Casita with CARIBBEAN WORLD TOURS and they will escort you to the Independent

    Travelers large white tent.

    .

    .

These were basically the same instructions we got when we went on our tour from Falmouth and we were completely safe. We didn't use that same company but we did follow these same instructions. The dispatchers at the end of the buildings were very helpful and point you to the right location. There are several companies and tour guides in the same area picking up their guests. It's just a little chaotic but definitely not alarming and we didn't fell unsafe or lost at all. We were still within the secure port area when we met our guide and loaded into the van. Hope that helps some and that you have a great trip!

  17. We've used resortforaday.com and had an excellent time. Prices were much cheaper than thru the cruise line. Pick up and drop off was easy and we had no problems at all. We had 16 people on our bus and everyone seemed to have a very relaxing day. Hope you have a great trip!

  18. life happens here and abroad. I am trying to say the resort is secure and have done my research and our group is fine with going on excursion. Someone got shot while pumping gas here. It happens. Security is high yes, and we will check prior to cruising.

    .

    .

I'm with you.......I'd do my research too and continue with my plans. It's only at a level 2 - need to always be aware of your surroundings and take precautions but not cease to live and enjoy your trip. Have fun!

  19. There was no hiking involved for us. My parents, who are almost 70, were able to make the short walk from the van to the blue hole with no problems. Wish I was there today since it's sooooooo cold where I'm at. Hope you have fun!
