I'm just off this trip. Cunard really have to pull their socks up.
1.The showtimes have changed, so you either miss your dessert to get there.or arrive late which isn't fair on the artists.
2. The ship was understaffed. I was told by a senior member of the crew they have permantely dispensed with various staff members e,g, sports organiser, social host.
3, All the experts have gone.
4. No satellite, during Wimbledon and a pollical crises.
To be fair, there was a lot of quarantining , which must have been a nightmare. The Irish duo (Cula) were doing everything,
My son did his bit for Anglo=Mexican relations.
The crew were great. The management are rubbish.

Yes they do. There should be a fantastic display of pumpkins and there may be a Halloween party in the Queen's Room as well. I've never used the children's services but I imagine they will do something as well.

Are you saying that you buy dresses that can be reduced by $1300? You can't really compare everyday shopping with a cruise.

Yet you want the lower price paid by those who have to take a category guarantee and are way down on the dining priority list.
You are saying they should be happy to pay what could amount to A LOT of money just so they can choose first or second seating! Blimey! At the end of the day Cunard is just a business that you are doing business with, so if you can get something to your advantage, from them,well done.

Well, it happened to me a few years ago. The prices were way down from what I paid, in fact, the grills were cheaper than what I paid in Britannia!! So I rang them up and pointed this out and they put us in Queen's Grill. So there is no harm in asking. As for asking you to pay more....that's one of the reasons they give for paying well in advance, that the price may go up, so basically you have paid more upfront.

When someone says print the tickets out yourself to save paper and ink, it's to save their paper and ink, not yours. And it certainly isn't to save the planet.

I missed the stars of the month feature too - but I wonder whether its omission, together with that of the top sailors, has anything do with the new safeguards introduced by the Data Protection Act 2018 - it is something we are wrestling with in connection with the use of staff photographs where I work.
No need to do any wrestling at work- just ask your staff for permission to use their photos and details needed.

Oh yes they will, happened to me in January in the QM2 Princess Grill restaurant!!! I didn't say anything as it would have been too rude to the lady put with me.

I think the point is that the gap in the market IS the traditionalist market and that, at the moment, Cunard is the only line filling that gap. Carnival have many other brands that cater to the people who want any time dining for all and relaxed dress codes. Why force Cunard to become just another one of those lines.
Also, I have rarely seen an itinery that is not covered by several other, more relaxed lines, with the exception of the transatlantic crossings.
Well, over the past year or so we have seen dress codes relaxed and casual clothes can now been worn in the nightclub and somewhere else I can't remember. Under 18s can now go into the nightclub before 11.00pm. Things change and saying that a two sitting dining room is "Tradition" is being a bit silly. The only tradition about it was the previous liners were too small to feed non first class passengers any other way. Breakfast and lunch was also two sittings.

Like the dress-code threads, I am constantly confused/bemused by those who wish to sail with traditional cruise-line Cunard... but who don't actually wish to sail with Cunard and its traditions :confused:
As I said above, you don't book a cruise solely on where you eat your dinner. And as another poster says, the itinerary is more important than where you eat your dinner.
Perhaps we should be really traditional Cunarders and eat our meals on long tables sitting on wooden chairs. Inside room guests can bring their own food with them.

Why book a line renowned for a traditional cruising experience and then try and make it like the vast majority of other less-traditional cruise lines? The point escapes me.
Because you don't book a cruise solely on where you eat your dinner. Would it be the end of the world as we know it for Cunard to throw in a bit of anytime dining?

We ask for a table of 6 as we enjoy the company of others at dinner. This normally works unless the other 4 are traveling together and don't intend eating in the MDR several evenings. This leaves us as a table for 2.
If you are with friends why not ask for a table of 8 then your companions still have company when you are dining elsewhere ?
Crikey, why should I? There have been times when they has just been two of us on the table but so what? A couple of weeks ago during our Fiords cruise at the height of World Cup fever, there were tables in the MDR with one person on, including my husband.

All the heads of departments have secretary. I also have experience of senior officers of being very aloof and buck passing.

When there is an unexpected sea day, or you have to leave a port early, extra activities are put on. One of the Entertainment Directors, whose name I'm afraid I've forgotten, is an astronomer and gave a very interesting talk when we couldn't get into Gib until a lot later then scheduled. Sally Sagoe also has a back up lecture" My Life in EastEnders."

Knee length cocktail dresses are fine for your wife. I've worn them myself on many occasions on formal nights.

Add me to the list of people who have seen a "service animal" or "emotional support animal" in the QM2 passenger areas, including an itinerary where dogs weren't transported in the kennels.
Cunard accepts registered assistance dogs on board that have been specifically trained to assist a person with a disability and has been certified by an organisation that is a full member of
Assistance Dogs International (ADI) or International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF), the accrediting bodies for assistance dog organisations worldwide.Emotional support dogs are not recognised as an assistance dog by the above organisations and are not permitted on board. All assistance dogs are carried free of charge.
Carriage of an assistance dog is subject to the conditions set by DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs)
Cunard Line welcome registered assistance dogs on all their vessels. Cunard Line has a DEFRA licence on Southampton to Southampton cruises and transatlantic crossings on Queen Mary 2.
As the DEFRA requirements are different from other forms of travel, it is essential owners understand the conditions that the dog must travel under.
We would advise all owners to carry their dog's identification card, or similar, with them at all times in case local authorities require proof.

I was on this trip until Cape Town. I actually had to put in an official complaint about the Tour Office staff and their attitude, nothing was done.

Well, I certainly wish you and your family well. I think CUNARD is the very last cruise line I would choose if I were travelling with children. I've done a number of QE QV and QM2 trips and L O V E D them all. But I do not travel with kids. Very few kids are on "Q" ships. Maybe the summer is very different. If so----- others will point this out.

Rubbish. There will be plenty of children and teenagers on-board in August with plenty for them to do as listed above. The captain usually throws a "cocktail party" for them one afternoon with mocktails and I have seen part of Kings Court being prepared for a children's sit down afternoon tea. Also a barbecue one evening. I once tried to assist some children with a treasure hunt around the ship but they didn't want any interference from me.
They look lovely dressed up as well! -

You are saying people are wandering around the ship with dogs without the crew saying anything?
