Empress of the Seas Review - Continued
Perhaps it's the geek in me, but waking up to see your ship is quite a thrill. Anyone else agree?
You can see Enchantment of the Seas behind the Carinval ship
The ships weren't the only great views in the morning:
Looking directly out of our hotel room
Looking straight down from our hotel room
COMING UP NEXT:
We board the Empress of the Seas.
We were up, getting ready to disembark when you took this pic. Sad morning getting off that small ship with a big heart ❤️

Sawgrass is far west from the port. I would stay at Hyatt instead, it is closer

Have any of you ever seen foil packets of honey available anywhere on any ship? For a good while now, I've been using honey instead of sugar in my coffee.
I did see small packs of honey in the Windjammer.

And this probably why they are charging $25 if you don't return you towel back by the pool area daily. I guess they are trying to cut the daily chair hoggers that never return. Once those towels are picked up, they have no idea who they belonged to, so who ever didn't physically return the towel and didn't get their sea pass scanned for the return, get charged $25 for the towel.

I doubt there will be a line to get on the tenders. The cruise lines discourage passengers from forming lines to get off the ship. They will likely hand out numbers to get on the tenders, this will probably be the previous day or early in the morning, check the Cruise Compass for the exact time and location. Get there early for the tender tickets. Wind and waves often delay and sometimes cancel tendering in Grand Cayman.
Good Luck
On Empress they do not give numbers, they just have people line up since it is a small ship that holds 1800. If your sailing is not sold out, you should not have a problem. My sailing was sold out and the wait was very short. The crew is very efficient and the tender boats hold about 200+ people at a time.

For those sailing out this weekend. Just got this from Royal:
ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS*
Hello, this is Royal Caribbean International. We are contacting you with important information regarding your upcoming sailing on Navigator of the Seas on March 26th.*
The Ultra Music Festival will be taking place this weekend at Bayfront Park.* We are expecting extremely heavy traffic in the area to access the port.* We ask that guests provide ample time to arrive at the port for boarding.* To access the cruise terminal it is recommended you enter the port via I-395 / SR-887 / MacArthur Causeway to the Port of Miami Tunnel.

Yes avoid Biscayne Blvd! Make sure to go thru the port tunnel which goes goes under water and crosses the channel into the port. It is pretty cool! Make sure who ever is transporting knows to go through the tunnel and not to get off on Biscayne Blvd.

Thanks Lisette.
From your picture, you belong on a spring breaker way more than I do.
Good to know that I still got it although I turn 42 while on Empress. What did you think of the Cruise Director and the activities on board?

Thanks for your review JohnGaltny. I leave on Empress next week 3/23, it is sold out so I expect a "spring break" full house also.

Empress is so small that you won't need to worry. No reservations for activities or shows for that ship.

Hi All,
Looking to book a RC Caribbean cruise out of Miami for June 2018 but can't seem to find any.
Do they not have any cruises out of Miami in June?
Cheers
Davy !!!
Harmony of the Seas sailings are on website and the rest of the year Caribbean content will be added tonight. Crown and Anchor members can book tomorrow, general booking will open Friday.

I have never received one of the special sneak peek emails and have cruised on RC several times. We are Diamond. What do I need to do to get on the list for emails?

Yeah, being a local here near the port, it definitely irritates me when they call it:
"Orlando's Port Canaveral". Uggghhh!!! :mad::mad:
Orlando is inland middle of the state, no where near the coast, 40 miles away, and not even in the same county. They are Orange County. We are Brevard County.
Port Canaveral is....Port Canaveral. Should RCI call Port Everglades "Miami's Port
Everglades"??!! ;p
Actually, Port Everglades is in Fort Lauderdale. Miami has Port of Miami.

That's the same flyer from last week.

Actually, the one from last week is the one below showing year round Caribbean releasing this week, which has no been delayed a week.

Most definitely NOT a surprise....but...more info please. Delayed until when? Just this week's delayed or delayed indefinitely, etc.
Not sure as of yet, waiting to get more info. All I know from a higher up is that there was issue with the system due to the recategorization of the staterooms.

Due to the recategorization and IT having issues with the changes on the RCI site, 2018-2019 deployment had been delayed.

I was just in contact with Carlos Torres on Empress of the Seas and he is still the Cruise Director and will be there on my sailing March 23rd-27th.
