I am not sure if you intend to walk to the port on embarkation day, but you might not be able to do that. The bridge doesn't allow pedestrians, so if your ship is on that side, you'll need an Uber that day, too.

I paid $17.76 on 5/4.

Do the six have to travel together? Take two taxis.

From the Brightline station, I'd use Uber. I've done that three times because I book the cheap seats on Brightline, which doesn't include an Uber transfer.
From the port to FLL, I'd take a cab. They're lined up and waiting, whereas locating your Uber can be difficult.

The note I sent to my DH that night: "Captain says we're in 35-40 mph winds and 5 m swell."

Does anyone know if port everglades has Global Entry
It doesn't matter anymore with facial recognition for everyone. It's quite fast.

IVs are not balconies (they're windows separate to each cabin), so they can't be connected.

It's not clear if you will be boarding or changing ships. If boarding, you can park in the Palm Garage and take the shuttle to 29. If changing ships, you can take a cab for a flat fee of $8.

I doubt you'd be able to book it; the system knows your birthdate.

I have worn flip flops but not the Dollar Tree ones (they hurt my feet!). Usually something like Yellow Box or other bedazzled pairs.
Last cruise on the Reflection, people were wearing shorts and hats (cowboy, baseball, whatever) into the MDR, so if someone comments on my feet, we'll have a conversation.

What a lovely plan.
I have often peeled off from a tour after starting it, but I ask the guide first so he or she won't waste the others' time waiting for me to show up somewhere.

Tonight is definitely pretty bad. We're heading to Cobh, supposed to arrive at 7 am but the Captain announced earlier that has been moved to 2 pm. Departure moved from 6 pm to 9 pm.
He's trying to go around something weather-wise, so I can only assume it's better now than if we had taken our original course at the original speed.

No. You can't be transported from one U.S. port to another without a distant foreign port, and none of these counts.

Kids: We don’t want to go unless there will be lots of other teens on board.
Parents: OK. Since there’s no guarantee we’re sending grandma to watch you guys while we go alone. Try not to get in too much trouble. And did we mention that with the money we are saving not bringing you we’ve upgraded to a super nice suite!Right?! 👍🏻

On Caribbean Princess now. Note that neither Planks nor Steamers appears on the app (no menu, no reservations), so you'll have to visit them or call for reservations.

I'm on Caribbean Princess now and checked out R732 and what's above it. The hallway seems quiet to me (and the OV was open for dinner at the time). Above the cabin is the Steamers casual dining section of the OV, so it's less noisy and busy than the regular OV. Edit: at night, it's open only every other night. People sit there but there's no food served.
Hope this helps!

Comments about healthiness aside, here on Caribbean Princess, there's a salad bar at lunch and dinner in the buffet, along with plenty of cut-up fruit. There's also usually a cheese, olive, and meat spread for a snack.

In Maine, I don't know, but in New Zealand, they have dogs that sniff and people go to jail for sneaking food in. Chili has dogs and soldiers with big guns. The best thing to do is check with the local port authority and if they say no, decide whether you want to risk it or not.
The OP wants to bring food ON the ship, not off.

Sometimes we sail in suites and enjoy the amenities. Sometimes we don't and then we enjoy the usual amenities. Never had a bad cruise either way.

I am very interested in learning about your Brightline experience from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale.
Do you think that you could have made a later train and be in good time for embarkation?
Did you do the train both ways?
I've taken the 7:50 am train from MCO three times now and have made three cruises, so yes, a later train is okay. I might even feel comfortable with the next time.
I've received e-mails from Celebrity with a discount code for Brightline, so you might keep a lookout for those.

Can you elaborate as to what this means for me in regard to getting to the sea plane office which I believe is adjacent to the airport.
It means no required shuttle from the Navy base. Get off, get to the curb, jump in an Uber.

Cabin cough

Why does anyone think he can pinpoint acquiring an illness from a specific sneeze? 🤨
My DH has reflux issues and has a consistent cough. He won't infect you, so no need for the side eye.
