311 on Forteleza maybe 12 tables in the place. Outstanding!

Kids moved out a few years ago so we created a "cruise room" all our cruise wear goes in there and the suitcases come out about a month before the actual sailing date so we're fine tuning what we want to take for a few weeks.

I wish you all the best for your cruise, too early to tell where it'll end up, but with the high pressure cap we have now it should keep it to the east

Your only real issue is if it or any storms head to the upper Texas coast or Galveston in particular. The ship can go around a storm or re-route it's port of calls but as the port area around the Galveston terminal especially Harborside floods. So just keep that in mind when you park.

They'll likely put you with others on a 8 or 10 top. Part of the fun of cruising is to meet and chat with your fellow passengers. You maybe able to change to a smaller table if you talk to the maitre d as soon as you board.

First ever cruise was a transatlantic on the QE2, 2nd cruise was on the SS France that became the SS Norway. Everything since has been nice, but not majestic as the first 2 experiences.

Only have one experience with RCI. Ship common areas slightly nicer, but found them more crowded as events would take place in walkways creating choke points. Things like the skating shows booked up very quickly and service was not as good/friendly and dining room more crowded. We use Princess as an alternate based on itineraries but overall prefer Carnival to RCI. For me, there was nothing that RCI had over Carnival. Ship we were on was the Navigator of the Seas out of Galveston.

It's a really long pier.
They had a shuttle last time we were there, was like $1 each way

We are booked on the Vista out of Galveston for October 2018 also. We booked as soon as it was announced it was coming to Galveston since it is only 30 minutes from our house. We are booked in a Havana Cabana balcony.
Looking forward to the rest of your review.
We're on the 10/21 sailing. Snagged 2 of the last Havana Cabana cabins. Really excited to experience this new concept in cruising. Shocked how fast they went, but there aren't many to go around.

Thx for your posting, we just booked the Vista out of Galveston in Oct 2018 and have seen a mix of reviews. This one was very encouraging!

We were on this same cruise and you captured the highlights very well, even down to the funky smell in the mid ship elevator lobby. Only thing I'd add would be that we dined at Sabatini's as well as Bayou Cafe. Experience in both was well worth the money and the meals were the best we've had at sea.
Our own expectations of Horizon Court were low to begin with, and those expectations were met. MDR was great and the service and cabin staff are among the hardest working people we come across.
Again, thanks for your review!

we were on Regal 2/19 to 3/5
the first week Steve Moris was on the ship
the second week Steve Caouette was the main Comedian
Both are really funny....
Word of warning.... Don't show up late to Steve Caouette's show.
x2 on Steve Caouette, funniest guy I've ever heard and doesn't have to resort to "adult humor". Go ahead and turn up whenever you want though, the rest of the audience will certainly appreciate it! You won't...

Good luck to y'all and make good decisions if you're driving. I volunteer with the Red Cross and we're already making plans to deploy from Galveston to Corpus.
