Looks like so much fun, rian!

I was looking to visit the royal palm when in port. Is there a charge to get in? Also I see they have a lunch menu and cocktail menu. I looked at the cocktail menu and it only lists wine. Will we be able to get regular mixed drinks or beer? Are we allowed to drink them when lounging on the beach? TY

I have a question about the Royal Palms. Will we be able to get drinks on the beach? Or at a bar of some sort? I only see a wine list.

allow yourself at least an hour to get back from 7-mile beach, if you go there. As stated, there is one small road, and it can be "bumper to bumper"...but you can easily see the traffic from the entire beach, so if you see a major slow down of traffic...hop on the next bus and head back! Buses are the cheapest, easiest way to get around gc....stand at the road, and they stop.

So far there is only one other ship listed in port with us.

Walk on the ocean floor! Sea Trek
I'd love to do that! But I am with someone who is very afraid to actually be in the water.
-
I know there's a website I've used to check what ships are in port each day, but I can't find/remember it. Anyone know what it is?
Someone gave me three different ones, of course I can't remember them! But I have checked, and all 3 said something different.

As I stated earlier, you really need to check out how many cruise ships will be in port. It will REALLY effect the timing of everything. It took us @ 3 hours just to get off the ship--we did not stand in line to get tender tickets, just waited to the "all clear" announcement. Got off @ 1 pm after a 10 am arrival.
Oh I see now. TY

Gets very congested on the roads, limited routes, ..leave more time than u think you'll need.
When we used to get off at GC we went back to the port area super early, and spent time at the nearby flea market...great crafts and local foods..
Stay on ship time...
I do know to leave more time, but how long will it take to wait for the boat to get back on the ship? If I have to be on the ship at 3:30. Do I need to head back at 1? Will it take 2.5 hours?
-
I have a question about how long it will take to get on that boat and back to the ship. How much time will I have to leave the beach to make sure I get on the ship in time?
-
This is only our second cruise, so we are excited about port stops and hope for now to do something in every port.

Great advice.

Oh my goodness. There is so much to do in Grand Cayman. DYI excursions are easy and plenty of them!

I think we are going to take a taxi to Royal Palms. Now I have another question. How much time do I need to leave to make sure we get back to the boat that will take us to the ship?
-
That sounds nice!
I just read maybe we should take a cab to Royal Palms.

I will be with my 70+ year old mother.

I was hoping to hit a beach in Grand Cayman, but I read about the tiki beach which is where both beach offerings are. Everything I read said tiki beach is awful. All the other excursions look like dolphin or sting ray or reef encounters.
In Cozumel we are doing that submarine thing, and I thought I read there was in Grand Cayman. I was going to switch and try to do the submarine in GC and a beach in Cozumel, but the submarine thing isn't listed on the excursion list.
What else is there to do?

I have searched all over to find out the price for internet for a 6 night cruise and can't find it. I looked on their website but it keeps saying I have no reservations and they are experiencing difficulties. Can someone tell me how much it will cost?
-
I agree, but at the second request, if I were the TA, I would have fired the customer...too much trouble for what it is worth.
She certainly tried! But I was like, oh no... I am so sorry I don't wish to leave you.
That being said, if I finder it cheaper I will certainly book with someone else. I'm not talking just for $9.72, of course. But for hundreds... I'll certainly leave. For hundreds more, like that $600 decrease, I might hesitate to ask because she seems to be annoyed. I might just book with someone else instead of giving her the opportunity of adjusting it.
-
I agree with all of what you said. I no doubt I have been put on that certain type of customer list.
-
I honestly have to say, I have no idea why I even asked about the $10... after I hit send I instantly regretted it. I no longer work and I'm a student again, so I have loads and loads of free time. I think the free time and being able to be at the computer all day long checking and rechecking got to me.
-
I agree that over $10 was extremely petty and childish. On the other hand if I didn't tell her about the other lower price I would have lost $600! So. Of course I am staying with her over $10, that being said for hundreds I certainly will book with someone else.
The only reason why I booked this early is because she told me I can cancel at anytime up until 3 months before with a full refund! And that if the price ever was lowered we'd reassess.
-
Yes, I was being a brat, unfortunately.
-
Yes. That is why I instantly regretted it. I have no idea why I made a fuss over $10. AND I dealt with her before and loved her. I think it was probably rude on my part.

If the price goes down after final payment can I ask for credit?
