  1. I did snuba in Grand Caymen in May. It's run by the same company as Sea Trek. There were lockers with one master key so everyone's items were locked at the same time, free of charge. We walked into the water, and the Trek people took a boat. I don't remember if people took their items in the boat but either way I think your things will be safe.

  2. I'm from the area. I would keep looking in the Ybor or Downtown area as they are super close to the port. Even South Tampa is closer. I've heard of many using Hotwire to get riverfront hotels allowed than 100. It was the Westin I believe. There are several hotels in the area.

The Barrymore is often found lower as well on Hotwire. I once got 75.

But, it's not a bad price if you can't find cheaper. The cab/Uber will be a little more.

  3. I prepay trips.

On my last cruise we left $20 for our steward. We also tipped per drink/round with Cheers.

For dinners we left between 5-10 per meal. We didn't want to leave it to the end because we weren't sure which nights we would eat in the MDR, and didn't want to not tip due to not seeing them.

It was a 5 night. I have a short cruise coming up without Cheers (the child is coming). I'm not sure what we will tip. It we will leave extra.

  4. I'm sitting in the terminal now. We used Park N Go and it was super easy. We drive from Tampa this morning and there was no traffic at all.

Tons of porters with no wait. We have FTTF and we're through the lines in just a few minutes

  5. For Spring Break it's a good deal, great location. If you are looking for cheaper the Barrymore is usually a bit less and I think their shuttle goes to the port as well (not 100% on this).

Jackson's is pretty good. My favorite thing there is Sunday Brunch. Channelside doesn't have many great restaurants. Decent, but not amazing. Anise is downtown and really good. Long wait, but worth it. Fantastic drinks.

Walking the river walk is nice, great views. Walk far enough and you'll see the pirate ship. I am not sure about the rest of your questions so I'll let someone else answer [emoji3]

  6. I'm from the area. I haven't stayed there but have heard from others it was a good hotel. They used Hotwire, and the rate was lower than you got but it wasn't spring break. Most hotels in that area go for at least $200 per night off season, except the Barrymore.

Barrymore is clean but certainly not as nice as the Westin, and their free shuttle only goes 2 miles.

You are in the Riverwalk area so you'll be close to many restaurants, and should be able to walk to many. It's a cute little area. If you are looking for a drink Sail Pavilion is a pretty spot right on the water. Jacksons is always nice for s drink, but I'm not overly impressed with the food (except Sunday brunch).

I've cruised out of Tampa only once, but I remember the embarkation being easy and quick. However, it was 20 years ago so things may be different now.

  7. For New Orleans, I second the WWII museum. If that doesn't interest you try a City Tour. There are tons of places to sign up once you get there, or you can book in advance. I was there for the first time in January and it gave us the chance to see a little of everything with the knowledge of a tour guide.

They also have air boat rides. We opted not to do this because we live in Florida and have done them here. I imagine it would be similar no matter where you are.

  8. I agree that walking around would be enough. If you are interested in touristy things you can hit the southernmost point, Hemingway's house and mile 0 on foot. Sloppy Joe's is a great bar. There are other amazing bars as well right in Duval St.

I don't recommend the beach. It's nothing like other Florida beaches, and way below what you will see in most ports outside of the US.

You can grab a map and get around easily. Bikes rented for $16 the last time I was there, 3 years ago.
