  1. In my opinion, the worst thing about the Valor, and this is a CCL problem across the board is their coffee. I find it to be extremely bitter and weak. I always purchase the coffee at the coffee bar. It's not the best but it is much better than the coffee you will get anywhere else on the ship.

The best thing about the Valor is her size. The newer ships carry twice as many people but have fewer pools making pool activities very crowded.

We've been on this ship several times and have always enjoyed the piano bar. Each time there was a different entertainer. They generally start the cruise out singing smooth easy songs but as the cruise goes along they start playing to the crowd and the songs become more rowdy and fun. Seems like it is always the same crowd there each night. It's a lot of fun if you luck out and get a seat around the piano as there is a lot of interaction that you will miss out on if you are sitting at a table against the wall.

Service has always been very good although we have witnessed a decrease in staff and waiters seem to be covering more and more tables and stewards have more and more rooms to service. This is no surprise as this is occurring everywhere stateside.

  2. I think we have all price watched and gone back and forth with our Carnival rep before making our decision to book. Seeing a price drop after booking is painful and these days everyone is watching their money. Generally asking your rep will produce some sort of onboard credit or promise of another goodie. Surely some of you have regretted not waiting another day to book just as we have done the happy dance when we see the price go up the day after we book! I don't think the OP had the anger that some of the other posters read into her post. I tend to believe it was simply some venting. Let's cut each other some slack!

  3. I have used his company twice already and will be using them again next week. I can tell you my personal experience with his company has been great. The drivers are all very kind and professional and speak very clearly. The vehicles are all very nice with great A C.

The price can't be beat and the drivers are great tour guides. Also, you have to visit Victor's home where he has a small zoo. You get to hold and feed monkeys. They are so much fun.

  4. Just an FYI. In the state of Florida you may not donate blood for one year after visiting Roatan due to the threat of malaria. I would imagine that the other states have similiar restrictions.

So... if you are a blood donor, go ahead and donate prior to your cruise. Thank you!
