Hi Lrgpizza
Thanks for your comment
I was booking the June 27th Getaway sailing a couple of weeks ago and found a good few mentions of "i went with aft angled as i've heard its windy on forward ones" but when i used the search function i couldnt find one person whos actually been in a forward one and said "its windy" !
In the end i went ahead and booked a mid ship forward facing angled balcony (the exact one pictured in here twice but on Getaway not Breakaway) and i shall report back here and let you know how I got on !
So do you recall if it was windy or not an issue?

Do you put your bags in the hall the night before debarking? Probably the same amount of risk.
No, I carry them off.

There should be a place to store your carry-ons before the cabins are ready. Ask, someone should know the location (usually a closed restaurant like Orchid Garden).
Do you know if this is something that is tagged and monitored or could someone potentially take my carryon?

HI all, this will be our first time in Antigua. Should we choose a beach day here or do the Celebrity Cat w/lobster lunch excursion?
Would like to do a beach day at least once on this sailing but not sure which port.
I would definitely do the Cat in Antigua. There's lots to see from the boat and they stop at a beach too. Then do a beach day out of St. Thomas...Ferry over to St. John.

Someone on a different site posted the dailies from last week's sailing on the Jade. The MDR was not open for lunch on embarkation day. Is this the norm now or is this crew dependent? Thank you for any info.

They do all of those things. The only thing that fit our schedule was the Lat party. We arrived less than 15 minutes late and it was already over. I actually love the back to back idea bc there were many things I wanted to do both on and off the ship that there just wasn't enough time for.

On the NCL website, there are no cruises listed in '25 prior to June. Upon a google search for Hawaii cruises, cruise.com has 2 listed. Has anyone used that service to book for NCL cruise? As a Latitudes member do you still get the points credited/perks if not booked through NCL? Hubs is wanting to celebrate a landmark Jan. birthday next year with the Hawaii cruise & didn't really want to wait till June or July. Thanks for any info you can share.
Yes, you will receive all NCL perks and more.

That is incorrect. The Dining Package has been dumbed down to be 1 app, 1 salad, 1 entrée, 1 dessert similar to the latitudes coupon.... making them essentially the same. One of your latitudes vouchers gives you a bottle of wine off the freebie list.
https://www.ncl.com/specialty-dining-package/faq
All Specialty Restaurant menu items are included except Seafood Platter in Raw Bar. An SDP meal in a la carte restaurants includes 1 appetizer, 1 soup or salad, 1 main course and 1 dessert (does not apply to cover charge restaurants or Food Republic, Pincho Tapas Bar and Sushi, where a meal includes any 4 menu items). SDP does not include beverages and additional and/or premium menu items will incur charges.
What if you booked prior to the change in Terms?

Book fixed price restaurants first: Does this mean online or in person or first as in earlier in the cruise? For instance, I have the 2 platinum dinners and one FAS dinner. Wouldn't they only charge me if I made more than 3 reservations? Or the system would only account for the FAS?

Go with the cheaper cruise and go to Japan also! 🥂

I have done back to back excursions in a few ports. In one, Barbados specifically, I did a snorkel/beach excursion followed up by a cave excursion. I believe there was only 15-30 minutes in between. It turned out that both were run by the same vendor, and the NCL shorex staff communicated directly with the vendor on what I was doing both prior and via walkie-talkie that day.
I have had no problems with same day excursions with an hour in between. That is a safe time gap for me, also with the understanding that in rare circumstances a situation could arise where I would not make it in time for my next booking.
Communicating with the shorex staff is key. In a different situation, they advised fairly about a chance that I may not make it back in time from a tour in the BVIs to then make a catamaran excursion. I believe it was only 15 minutes in between. Basically, choose my priority or risk paying for both and not making it for the afternoon excursion. I ended up just booking the first excursion, which was my priority, and took my chances on getting on the 2nd tour last minute. It turned out that I made it back to the pier with extra time to get on the 2nd excursion, but it was a popular snorkel trip and was sold out at that point.
In your specific case, I would only book the snorkel excursion at this point. Then talk to the shorex staff on the ship and see if there is any realistic way to do both. In frequent instances, tour times are changed or canceled.
I'm Platinum and a shore excursion junkie fwiw.

I had FREESRVC: Free Prepaid Service Charges

I bought Posh passes at Guest Services on the Epic immediately after boarding. I don't think they were even selling any online at the time.

Are sides included with the Latitudes perk dinner at Cagney's? If so, one, two, or more??
I tried researching, but see mixed answers from years ago.
I'm trying to decide which restaurant to use my reward dinner and which to use my dining perk dinner (Cagney's vs Le Bistro).
Thanks!

I just discovered this in my account. I'm Platinum.

First, I assume from the question that you are sailing in the next month, because NCL is discontinuing testing after that.
whether you get in early or not is totally dependent upon the shore agent personnel working that day. Just show up and see what happens.
Yes, I sail tomorrow. Thank you for the info. 🤞

How strict are the arrival times in NY? Everything I have read says that if you arrive early, you will be asked to leave until your time. But also, if you miss your covid test time, you will have to pay for it? I booked last minute and have a 1pm boarding time. Leaving from a hotel not far from the pier. What happens if I show up early? I'm not sure when I really need to be there.
Thanks

I got tested for strep and flu when I got back late December.. both were negative. I have not contacted my PCP since as I no longer have symptoms. I'm curious if other cruisers experienced anything similar during same time frame.
There is a high probability that you had RSV. Although it is more common especially in very young children and sometimes the elderly, many people in the middle age range had RSV this past "Flu season".

I only had 4 nights of specialty dining as a perk the last two years on 14 day cruises...not 5. 🤔

So I called the NCL booking department and actually ended up speaking with the woman who does all of the recordings you listen to over and over. Awesome woman...super nice and helpful. She clarified to me that there is not a limit on the shorex credit amount you can receive. The change is literally just going to $50 per excursion for the first person on the reservation.
-
So I was doing a mock booking and discovered that the current shore excursion promotional terms and conditions have changed. In the past it has been $50/port/cabin. I'm not sure when it changed, but the deal with new bookings today is $50 per excursion for the first person in the booking. And you can get $50 each excursion if you take more than one in the same port.
Here is the confusing point: In the ad on the main ncl home page is says this promo is worth up to $200. However, in the terms and conditions, nowhere does it state that there is a $200 total credit limit. This is an important point because there could be a significant difference in money saved depending on the length of the cruise and number of shore excursions booked.
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge regarding this?

What shore excursion are you wanting?
Port Time Changes yet again

NCL did it again. Port times were reduced today for the Jade sailing 9/19/24.
