  1. May I ask why you changed - did someone confirm to you it was not a 2/2 or you did it out of concern? If we have to make other arrangements I'd rather do it now and not onboard a sold out cruise. But I would hope they'd honor the booked price for any changes that have to be made...

Hopefully, this stateroom is still 2&2. We originally booked a GS and had to change to 2 aura balconies because the info was incorrect. We were told we would be compensated for the inconvenience. Still waiting.
  2. We also have 9001 on one cruise and 13001 on another with the assumption that they are both 2/2. May I ask why you changed to 2 Aurea balconies? And what was the price difference? Did someone confirm for you that 9001 is not 2/2? What compensation was given? If I have to change it, they should give the same price as the original booking, I would think.

  3. Problem is, this family of 5 (as well as many others) won't fit in that configuration....I have a 5'8" 16 year old girl, a 6 ft 16 year old step-son, and a growing 12 year old son - you figure out who's sleeping with whom and it doesn't work in any combination. The answer is - they need 3 separate beds. A sofa bed isn't going to cut it, especially not a double sofa bed. That's not a vacation - that's like camping which isn't what I've paid for. And to have 5 of us in a single room? No thank you. Tell me now and we'll rebook or make other arrangements. That's my biggest problem...if they tell us now we can possibly work around it or they can help us to make it work while there are balcony cabins still available. Put everyone on a sold out cruise - and you're going to hear me from every port all the way to Miami!

I understand it's still being built, but don't tell me it's not on the master plan. SOMEONE knows.

    Yes of course. (y)

And that is going to be their get out when a family of 5 show up in a side GS. One double bed, 2 sofa beds and a pullman, there you go folks, enjoy.

I see now the UK site doesn't say the GS is a 1 or 2 bedroom, it just says there is a double bed.

The US site says there is a separate sitting area.

  4. I'm not sure what to think of this, other than they're just not entirely sure and to document it. But then what?? That's the big question.

Looking at deck plans on the MSC US site, floors 9 -14 show the same symbols for the 01 suites. 2 pullman beds and a sofa bed. As long as they're in 2 bedrooms, I'll be happy.

So 1 hour 20 minutes after picking up the phone to call them. Ended up speaking to a supervisor, she is reading material that wasn't available when I made my booking, which is making this kind of hard. She says "only a small proportion of cabins have 2 beds/baths."

"The system will not open up the 2 beds if only 2 people are going to occupy the room."

I told her to look at the U.K. site, follow me as we go through, number of people, etc. Click on the next page, choose what experience you want, then click over the different cabin types, get to Suite seaside Aurea, and....... she says "Oh it does show the floor plan of a 2 bed 2 bath with total floor space of 58 sq. mtrs with a balcony of 21 mtrs." Thank you. "But" she then says "if you click on the next page and look at the description it say total area is 32 mtrs with a 9 mtr balcony." But that's been added later is my reply.

Upshot is she wants me to screenshot all this and tell them what I want and what they are prepared to do. (The first agent outright refused to switch me to a centre 2 bed)

  5. Interesting and misleading if it's only a partition between the 2 bedrooms and not an actual separate bedroom. A partition is still part of 1 room. Not 2.

I've been following along and I've posted my thoughts on another thread even though I'm sailing on the Seaview and not the Seaside. I assumed the same issues would pertain to both ships. I am beginning to give more credibility to my friends here on cruise critic then my own travel agent who also happens to be my sister. Bless her heart. I keep bugging her over and over and every time she calls MSC (to pacify me) they tell her to tell me not to worry, that my cabin (9001) on the Seaview is definitely a two bedroom. They also told her that the bedroom has a partition that makes it into two bedrooms. Where is that information coming from. My sister said that she spoke to a supervisor after being put on hold for twenty minutes and that's what they told her. I can't fault her for what she is told but why is it so hard to get accurate information.

I am so frustrated and hope someone can maybe explain something I noted when I looked at the deck plans on cruisedeckplans.com. My paperwork from MSC confirms my booking for cabin 9001 and describes it as an SE3-Grand Suite. The description for this same cabin on cruisedeckplans.com described it as an SJ3 with a sofabed and a bunk.

    What is the difference?

  6. My travel agent assured us that the website has not been updated to reflect that 9001 and 13001 are also 2 br/2 bath. When I tried to enter the booking for 5 passengers, it gave me 9001 as an option. There's no way 5 can fit in a 1 br. And even if we could, there's 0 privacy. That's not reasonable and nothing I would book with full knowledge.

So yes...I agree with others who have stated that if we get onboard and find out there's only 1 room - there's going to be a huge problem. Fortunately for us we'll find out months before our trip, but what a disappointment it will be.

    I'll be watching anxiously!

It would be great if the MSC agents had the same information as what is now posted on the website. Currently only 11001, 12001 and 14001 are 2br/2bath. All others are 1br/1bath. 14002 & 14003 only sleep two, all others sleep five. The 1br/1bath versions will have a queen in the bedroom, with a double sofa and pullman in the living area.

    Grand Suite

    • Spacious suites that come with a balcony and a separate sitting area
    • Each suite is equipped with Air conditioning, spacious wardrobes, interactive LCD TV, telephone, mini bar and safe
    • Surface approximately 344 - 527 sq. ft., plus a balcony up to 226 sq. ft.
    • 1 bedroom/1 bathroom - a queen bed,* a double sofa bed and a pullman bed to accomodate up to 5 guests (11 suites, Suites 14002 and 14003 accomodate only 2 guests)
    • 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms - queen bed* in bedroom 1 and two single beds in bedroom 2 and a pullman bed for up to 5 guests (Suites 11001, 12001 and 14001)
    • Wi-Fi connection available (for a fee)

  7. This compensation/solution will not work for families requiring 2 bedrooms. I'm traveling with my pre-teen son and 16 year old daughter - they'll share the second bedroom in single beds - and my 16 year old step-son - who will sleep on the sofa bed. Moving 2-3 of the children to another balcony cabin isn't an option for us! Unless they are connecting, but still wouldn't be ideal.

I'm booked in 9001 for 1 cruise and I was told up and down, sideways, and backwards - that it is a 2/2. I'm booked on 13001 on another cruise and told the same - 2/2.

I was told (just a few days ago) that the 02 and 03 suites are very large 1 bedroom suites. Only some of the 01's in the center are 2/2.

What I saw on the website is that

    Well, i think that a fair compensation would be;

    1) For booked guests who are taveling in 4 adults = one extra balcony cabin in any category, but with Aurea Experience perks. With that, you give what you promised, 2 rooms, 2 baths and Aurea Perks for all 4.

    2) For booked guests who are traveling in couple = onboard credit in the proportion of the cruise days. For a couple the lack of second room and a bath would not cause such a discomfort, but they should be compensated anyway.

I hope dmccadden can get an answer for this.

  8. Please do let us know, and good luck!

The same happened to me...when I put in 5 pax, the middle 01 suites opened up and showed as 2/2.

OK I've been on the UK site and it still says that all the GS are 2 bed. Now if I put in 2 pax it blanks out the middle suites and gives me only options for sides. If I put in 5 pax it opens up the middle suites on floor 9 and 10 which show as available for our sailing dates. I'm going to phone them now and get them to change our room, I'll report back
  9. I'm booked in 9001 for next summer and I was assured that it's a 2/2. We have 2 adults and 3 children going so it's the only way we'll fit!

  10. I came across this tour as well and am really interested, but the no refund policy makes me hesitate. What if the ship is delayed (I know it rarely happens)? What if there are torrential rains? I hate to pay in advance and have no options, but I also don't want to wait until we get there to book. I know how pushy everyone is around the port in Jamaica and don't want to deal with that. Any advice??? I think I overthink everything! Lol

So far, I've read some great reviews about Liberty Tours. I sent them an email and they responded right away. Now working on getting our group to agree on the things to do.
  11. Thanks for your review. What was it that you didn't like about the food in Le Muse? The menu? Preparation? We're cruising YC in August and looking forward to the food! I'm curious of what to expect. Thank you!

Well Guru we areback from our MSC Divina cruise. May 20-27th.

The yachtclub perks were fantastic. Most days we had the pool and whirlpool toourselves. Top Sail Lounge, very nice snacks, drinks and service, but no music. We used Pandora at the pool. We would try YC again. The only problem was withthe food at Le Muse. They need lots of improvement. However if one has a problem, they respond quickly and do try to solve it for you. We ended up moving to theMDR the last two days.

The specialtyrestaurants, we liked Eataly the best. We had an excellent perfectly cooked coldwater lobster.

Shows weregood, and drinks throughout the ship were complementary for YC guests.

Overall anexcellent experience, not perfect but very good. We recommend it and will bookagain.

  12. Do you happen to know, is this the package that allows two devices to join? Or if my husband gets this package, can I go in his hotspot to get the benefit?

Loved your review, btw! Can't wait until we're on YC this summer!

I bought the week Long package and believe I paid $80ish? Last day and still have some left. Used for work emails and to FaceTime the kids at home. Also played Pandora at the pool. Really really good deal and faster then the Carnival we recently got off of.
