  1. We have booked 2023's Icelandic Explorer cruise, our 1st Saga cruise.  I am interested in what sort of included excursions Saga provide in Iceland.  Any help would be gratefully received! Many thanks in advance.

  2. Having been on the Barcelona to Lisbon cruise I have to say that, as 1st time Regent cruisers, my husband and I were not impressed.  The staff were welcoming and trying hard but lack of  training was evident across the board.  Certain things, like afternoon tea, were positively down market (squirty cream on a scone - really).   It certainly wasn't an unrivalled experience - we have had better experiences in a Celebrity suite at a lower price.  Will we go on a Regent cruise again - unlikely!

At The pre cruise hotel now.

Instructions are to leave our cases outside our room doors by 07.30.

No deck labels (I have made my own and brought them)

No blank labels to fill in to say what bus we are on.

There are 10 leaving at 20 minute intervals.

I'm presuming that we will have to identify our luggage as per the emailed instructions at the pier and label them before checking in and boarding.

This is from a Brits experience as we no longer get the Regent package with everything in.

But why they can't email deck labels out is beyond me as other companies do, but getting 'that' package set Regent apart and started 'The Luxury' experience off.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster!  Still finding it difficult to believe that a 'luxury' cruise company think this is ok - especially treating UK and USA clients differently.

I think all of us sailing in the next several months on RSSC  need some clarification on the current RSSC COVID TEST.REQUIREMENTS- recognizing these requirements are subject to change.

It appears there are now two testing requirements for several upcoming cruises- testing at the port and testing 72 hours prior. While the port testing is clear and unambiguous the 72 hour requirement is confusing. Is it 72 hours before embarkation or 72 hours prior to departure starting your trip?

To illustrate- I am on a cruise that departs July 13  from Rome. I am departing the US on July 6 using RSSC Air in order to spend some time in Italy prior to boarding the ship. Will the test 72 hours prior departing the US on July 6 suffice or do I need to get a test in Italy up to 72 hours prior embarkation?

The answer is significant as it will impact RSSC responsibility if someone in your party tests positive at the port.

I am sure my situation is not unique.

If there is someone from RSSC monitoring this site or if any of you have the definitive answer, I,  and I am sure many others, would appreciate clarification.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

My understanding is that it is 72 hours before embarkation.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with Regent but they have guest speakers.  The history of Spain is fascinating.  We were also on the Voyager in Northern Spain and had a spectacular guest speaker, she was from the Smithsonian.  If we missed her lecture we watched it later on TV.  Hopefully you have a guest speaker of similar quality.

Good to know. This will be our first Regent cruise.  We will look out for the guest speakers.

Cat58.  We are on the same cruise and we too had a tour cancelled in Mallorca for the same reason. We have friends staying on the island when we're there and they are going to take us out for the day.  How lovely is that?

That is nice.  Enjoy. Hope to meet you onboard.

  7. It does seem a little odd that a company that offers a luxury product should appear money grubbing like this.  Having to label bags on the dockside is not efficient and not classy!! And why are people on either side of the pond getting a different experience with regard boarding info etc?  This has diminished my RSSC experience.  I have been sent numerous brochures from Regent (that aren't cheap to produce) but they can't send me luggage tags etc.  Very shabby.

With what is happening in Ukraine at the moment I am aware that this is a very  minor issue but this is post intended as feedback for Regent.
