  1. First time on Princess and my understanding is no IC. So where can I get specialty drinks? I bought a coffe card but now wondering if that was useless? Im actually not even a coffee drinker. But wanted good hot chocolate while in Alaska in June. My AZ blood will need a lot of warming up[emoji33] !!

  2. I really want to see the ice caves at Mendenhall Glacier. Bucket list kinda thing. The hike portion is not an interest. Considering the 2 hr kayak (each way). However this girl from Arizona is not sure her tail feathers can handle the artic water for 2 hrs.

    1. Is anyone aware of a helicopter tour that lands where you can then go onto the caves?

    2. What companies for either helicopter (if thats an option) or kayak tour companies for the ice caves.

*I know its not even a guarantee you get to go to the ice caves.

    Thanks!

  3. CruisinEars we will be there same day! Just booked the HOHO. They have a shuttle that goes to the garden specifically (not the city tour HOhO bus) you schedule you time which i liked so you are assured a seat instead of waiting in a long cue. Its $60 for transfer AND park entrance per person. I thought this was a good deal so we could sight see on our way, not worry abt parking, traffic, etc

Groupon has a HOHO for the city tour abt $22 per person.

  4. Leaving from Los Angeles. My sister hasn't competed her check in info, so maybe that's why? But nothing is noted in the areas you suggested. Also looking via my phone, maybe shows better on laptop....

We arrive to LAX at 10am, so by the time we get there we should be good to go anyway right? It's abt an hour from airport.

  5. Can I get some more info on this in relation to this ship? What does this thermal suite have? Cost (4 day cruise)

We've done the carnival thermal suite package and i cannot find any info...wondering how it compares. The other ship we are considering is the Ruby and they don't look to have anything similar. Thanks!

  6. D314/D315....these are directly over life boats. In decks plans it looks like lifeboats are out of view. Looking down from balcony will you see life boats or are they tucked under?

Looking for someone with experience with this vessel.....not just glancing at the deck plans

    Thanks

  7. My understanding is you can make changes before final payment. However, if it's a rate change....you may loose the current perks you have. Plus your type of room cannot be sold out either.

We just signed up for the 3 for free promotion going on and I asked them if the rates drop do I get a price adjustment. The remark from my travel agent was that.... sure but you may lose the free gratuity etc. if the new rate is lower but offers a drink package I could swap it. So you need to decide which is the better deal for you. the current one you have or the one you might adjust to.

  9. I have the option of the left or right side of Dream, out of NO. Which is best for viewing going into ports, if anyone knows? Or port or starboard, is that the official language LOL.

    port is on left, right?

    Thanks, Donna

Just got off yeaterday. We were Port Fwd. Beautiful view of island in Honduras

On Cozumel. ...would have been ocean viewing but 5 ships in port...had a view of Vista.

  10. Hi all, we will be cruising Miracle in late April. I really want to do the Chefs table, but I'm kind of confused as to how this works. On my Carnival site I requested the Chefs table for 2, and then was told I would be notified. So....do they only do this once during the cruise or multiple times, just because I requested it, does that mean I don't get it.....I'm totally confused and any insight would be helpful. Also, is it worth the price? TIA!!!

Just got off the Dream and did the Chefs Table.

Emailed Carnival and got a confirmation email back that I have a reservation.

Once on board. I asked when it was, was told when my booking was.

For those who say there is only one night???? On our cruise the HEAD chef confirmed during our dinner there were FOUR nights of Chefs table.

    It's incredible, yummy, entertaining. Enjoy!

  11. Hello all!

Now, before you go crazy and decide to tell me what a fool I am, stop. My husband and I and a close set of friends of ours are cruising (as cheaply as possible) in February as a joint birthday trip! I'm looking to see if there is anyone out there that has tips for saving room/sleeping with that many people to a cabin. We love Carnival and can't wait to just sit back, relax, and AHHHHH again!

    Thanks!

Just got home from Dream. Had 4 kids in an interior room.

Battery operated fans. They had AC on low entire time and never seemed to cool. Always abt 10 degree warmer than our balcony. 1 fan person would be idea. This would also help with smell and stuffyness. Battery is key..not rechargeable.

Get a European plug adapter so you will have an extra plug

Hub app......just tell friends to ......stay from the room for a while haha

Room freshner........actually the kind that doesn't smell but eliminates order. (Oust ia tge brand) One stinky ....moist pair of shoes....actually there is NOWHERE to store them. Maybe a plastic bag tied shut! I almost tossed my 16 yr olds new shoes.

    2xs per day housekeeping.

Do laundry 1/2 way. $15 a bag and stuff it tight. We turned in one bag....got 2 back. Was great for socks, undies, and workout clothes that get rank and can't really dry out.

Gym showering. Just make sure to lock the door.......my husband had a guy walk in and ASK IF HE WANTED COMPANY!!!! [emoji15] ....he showered in our room after that. Ha

  12. That is great to know!!

Paradise beach would NOT be a great place for your mom to relax...walk on the beach etc. I am a beach bum (so Cal childhood) , just got back last week from paradise beach. My 12, 7, and 4 yr old had a blast...I had a headache and went to bed with a headache missing dinner with the family. Granted there were FIVE ships in port. But it was packed, had to wait for a lounger. The water was murky, abt knee level it become slick/rocky in areas. People pull up chairs right to the water. So no strolling in the water- more like dodge and weave. There was an extremely strong rip current also. Food and drinks took 30+ minutes.

While that sounds like a complaint....it's is not, just facts. I would take my children back tomorrow. Service was great, guys patrolling water to make sure peope didnt get too wild. (Not to be confused with lifeguards) But if it was just me and hubby or girls trip....nope.

  13. We just booked Maya Chan in Costa Maya, not through Carnival. With all of the things happening in Mexico, my cruise mates are scared to go or even drink while off of the boat. I'm not really concerned. I've read nothing but great things! I know there is always a risk but how can I convince them that where we are going is safe?

I just got back from Cozumel and Honduras. Hubs and son did carnival sponsored scuba.

However, Myself (female) 12, 7, and 4 yr old children did our own thing. I heavily researched Sloth sanctuary and paradise beach. Felt TOTALLY safe.

In Cozumel we walked right up to the taxi stand directly from the cruise terminal and got into a taxi where other people were also going the same place so I figured I had safety in numbers.

In Honduras the scariest part was walking OUT of the cruise terminal up a little Hill down a little hill and then to this huge group of outside excursion offerings. However once I saw the sign for sloth sanctuary I was good to go. I always made sure that we had someone or a group of people near that we're heading to or from the cruise line.

Do your research and go for it!!
