  1. We have a trip on the Azura on the 23rd March and have Military OBC as well as the OBC allocated on making the booking and have as of yet not been informed that I am losing the Military side of things? Any idea as to when this took affect before I contact my agent?

  2. I had a similar problem last year on another ship. I believe that this sort of thing has to be nipped in the bud and be reported at the time and not when it is too late.

I visited the desk and asked to see the manager and was asked to submit a written request. I declined and stated that if not contacted within 2 hours I would be making an official email complaint to the CEO immediately after the time expired.

Approximately 20 minutes later I was asked to meet the manager at a venue of my choice where the usual offering of drinks etc was made. I declined and made my comments and complaints known. The manager accepted that these were reasonable remarks and stated that action would be taken immediately.

I was again offered a complimentary specialty restaurant meal for 2 as an apology which I declined stating that this was not the reason I was complaining.

I noticed over the next few days a remarkable improvement in the manner guests were spoken too over the remainder of the cruise. Therefore my personal advice is bring it to the attention of management at the time. It is the only way of seeing if your complaint was worth while.

  3. Only last year I was talking to the captain of the ship (P&O) who confirmed at an evening function that all the ships are for sale all of the time and if the right offer is made that ship would be sold. I remember also that somewhere there is a register of ships for sale on-line and both Aurora & Oriana were on it.

I think it is a case of wait for the company itself to make announcements and don't listen to gossip.

  4. When I first viewed CC I remember a post relating to a cruise I was going on. While in the elevator of the QM2 a few months later, I saw another person who I recognised as a poster also. We got chatting and both that couple and ourselves although we live in different parts of the World are best friends and have been now for 12 years. It is a pleasure to have met you all those years ago Mary & Randy.

Thank you Cruise Critic for this

  5. I have just got off the telephone with my agent, who states that following the amount of complaints regarding the £25 fee for paying on a card they have now decided to discontinue the fee. A result for the customer I think Thank you **** for doing so.

  6. I have just made contact with the agent and have been advised that they will examine each individual case regarding the card charge. I will be on to the accounts department in the morning and will take it from there. As I have 6 outstanding cruises this would be £150.00 surcharge for paying on a debit card. Being in the business of accounts I know what the charges are from the individual agency's that run the credit card scheme and it is no where near what this agent is demanding. Watch this space.!!! Princess may well be missing out aon a lot of money.

  7. This is the email I received from my agent (I have omitted the items that would identify them. I would appreciate other readers comments on this message!!!!

  8. One of the well known internet agents in the UK have notified the customers that they now have a standard £25 "SERVICE CHARGE" for the use of a credit or debit card bur EFT transfers are free. I have 5 cruises booked with them and am seriously considering cancelling all of them before final payment and move to another agent.

  9. In regards to your comment "Nukesubsailor" we live in Ireland and also have to travel to the UK to join the ship AND stay in a hotel the night before (just like you) and we DO NOT get the perks or facility to change as you do so your suggestion is nul & void in my opinion.
