Thanks Ellen for info on credit cards when starting our trip. I am guessing though that since we want to take bus to Grouse Mountain/ Granville Island we will be at a bus stop and will need to take our heavy bag of quarters.

Ellen and Scottbee, thanks for the bus information. We will be arriving on Sunday and leave Monday so probably will not be able to pop into a bank for the loonies.
So if fare if 2.50 although it might be a bit heavy if I understand your advice we could just put in 10 US quarters and the bus driver would smile and wave us back to a seat. Since we will probably only take bus few times (Grouse Mountain to hike up the Grind) and ferry over to Granville (assuming ferry is the way to go) will be easier than wasting time trying to convert money.
Again thanks for the information.

Ellen, thanks for the bus money information. Guess we best get some money from an ATM and then get change. We will only be there two days and would only take bus once or twice a day so day pass probably not the best bet for us.
Again thanks for the information.

BCHappyGal, thanks for the great list of things to do in Vancouver. I had put together some ideas but your list was great in pulling them all together with web sites. Was interested in the walking tours that the city had put together but the link will not work for me. But did find some other information on walking tours.
Do have a question and I apologize if it has been addressed earlier. I understand that most places will accept US currency. But what about buses and the ferry? Will we need local currency or can we use US coins on the buses.
Thanks for the great information you have provided.

Have been following along for days and look forward to the rest of the review. As one other poster mentioned I hope RCCL is taking note of your review. They should offer you a free cruise for all of the good publicity you are giving them. I'm guessing many readers, like me, are planning to book Allure or Oasis based on your pictures and review.
I also appreciate your opinions - like most of us have experienced some things and menu items are not as good as others but overall the cruise experiece is wonderful. Good to have a balanced review.
Besides the pictures thanks for posting the daily newsletters and prices.
