Sailing from NYC to the Bahamas in December so treated myself to both Thermal Suite and Vibe passes. The Thermal Suite is not only great on cooler days, it's also a great place to a) revive if one overindulges and b) soak after working out in the gym - something I try to do daily so that I can participate in the prior option a) 😁

    Good points! thanks!

If I had the choice, I'd always choose the thermal suite. But, that's me.

The spa will offer day passes if they have not sold out of the weekly pass and there is space available. I have no clue what the threshold is. We always play it safe by pre-purchasing the spa pass. It's a lot, but I make myself feel better about it when I realize I'm going to spend a minimum of 10 - 15 hours in the thermal suite over the course of the cruise...if not more.

So far as I know all thermal suites are open from 8 AM - 10 PM, with the last day of the cruise being 8 AM - 8 PM. No one on CC has ever refuted this when I've mentioned it, so I think it's right. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Have a wonderful cruise! You'll love the thermal suite if you choose it...well I would love it. I don't know if you would. 🙂

Thank you for the hours.  I mentioned to my wife we can check out the spa when we board the ship as we will be some of the 1st passengers onboard.

  3. Greetings fellow cruisers. Checking to see what you wonderful and knowledgeable folks know about the Thermal Suite Pass.  The NCL site lists the unlimited pass for $299/pp for duration of cruise. However, we also have Vibe passes for the week, so my preference would be to be outside rather than inside.

Question - do they offer day passes, or just the weekly long unlimited pass?
Additional question - how can I find out the hours of the Spa amenities, as this information may help with decision as well.

Thanks in advance, and happy cruising!

  4. Greetings all!  Currently looking at booking a cruise for early 2022 and NCL has a special going on where the 2nd passenger flies free.  Being a little controlling on my own travel itinerary 😁, I'm a little leery on the process and how NCL typically books it's passengers on airlines, hotels, etc. Certainly if issues arise, it's on NCL I would imagine.

I understand I may be able to pay an additional fee and arrive in the port city the day before sailing?  How do the hotels work since NCL will handle transfers to/from the airport?  Are there any choices available to me as the passenger, of course for a fee, when it comes to airfare, hotel and transfers?

Anyone have experience with this? Am I being overly concerned?  Appreciate any and all feedback - thank you in advance!

Yes, I’ve prepaid my DSC.  I’m trying to figure out how much to bring to tip on the ship(not in haven). So you tip for child care, steward, and at the bar.  Who else am I forgetting?

Hi BLM.  I typically bring along some extra small bills to provide a tip to bartenders as i feel necessary.  I especially provide a tip to the staff members in Splash Academy.  Our two oldest girls (6) have went to Splash Academy on the Pearl the last 2 summers in Alaska and absolutely loved it.  We are heading to BCN on the 10th for a W. Med cruise beginning the 14th and then a Baltic cruise immediately after on the Getaway and all 3 of our girls will more than likely be in Splash Academy at various times of the weeks. This will be our youngest's first time able to enjoy Splash Academy as she turned 3 after our adventures last summer.  For comparison, i provided a total of $300.00 for 1-week last year on the Pearl for both of our girls all week.

Someone mentioned the comment cards.  That is a must-do if you believe someone was exceptional for you.
