Don’t let the appearance of the passengers’ old age fool you. The majority can party and have a great time keeping up with anyone and also drink many under the table, because we are brain dead and can’t feel it.

On the Silhouette in October, one of the guest artists had to cry off with a serious family emergency at the last minute; she stood in with a one-woman show and her voice was far better than any of the women singers in the theatre company.

On Celebrity Eclipse in September, the only trivia worth attending were -

• Eddy's Tricky Trivia, presented by the cruise director Eddy Jenkins; and
  
• the music trivia.
  

Eddy is very entertaining, and knows his stuff, whereas the other members of the entertainment crew are just reading the answers off a card, and look blank if anyone dares to seek clarification.

Please don't call 911 unless it is a real emergency.

But these are Full Suite passengers! They can do what they want.

Hmmm...we were looking at a Midnight Sun cruise on the Sapphire next August, but after reading these comments, I’m thinking we might go with Viking.

Never having sailed princess, I went into the thread thinking you were asking about those little toys that shoot out confetti. Then I thought, well maybe that’s the name of their drink package.

It sounds like only the "old and not so much fun passengers" would know what party poppers are. ;p

In April of this year the Iglus and Affogatto drinks were discontinued. On the prior cruise 10/16/17 they still weren’t available.

What are the Iglus and Affogatto drinks, please?

Summer 2019 brochure will not be out until after they release those sailings. From talking with the IT Dept., they are not even ready to upload those itineraries yet and haven't even received a tentative date so the Dec. date sounds accurate to me.

... the waiter told us that they are not permitting people to take food from the MDR to their cabin or elsewhere on the ship, especially if it is something that can spoil.

Indeed. The ship we were on last month in Lisbon took a large number of pasteis de Belém onboard and laid them out in the buffet. I smuggled a couple back to my cabin, only for the cabin attendant to throw them away later that day.

The assistant Maria was amazing! She had just come from the Pacific Princess so she said this ship was HUGE...helped me understand why she seemed a bit rushed and crazed some days...but she went above and beyond even going to another area of ship to find me lemons for my tea as the dining room ran out one night.

On every cruise I've been on, I've always found the assistant waiter to be outstanding.

Most people really like Sue. I do. Some don’t which is fine. Some don’t and come back here time and time again to say the same thing and put her down. This says more to me about the posters doing that than it does Sue's perceived attitude to others.

I was really pleased to have had Sue Denning as the cruise director recently. Even if I hadn't liked her, what's the point of moaning about it on here? You can't chose your cruise director in advance.

Anyway, I got to thinking ..... Brandy Alexanders? ? That was my drink of choice when I was in my twenties. Haven't had one in ages. Do you know if they are included in the Classic package?

Agreed. I have also enjoyed reading your observations, and seeing the photographs especially.

In sharp contrast, I'm subscribed to another Eclipse thread where over seven hundred posts (none of them interesting!) were made before the cruise in question began, but we only met two people from the thread on the entire cruise. I get the impression that a lot of these "cruisers" never actually set foot aboard a ship.
