We are travelling next month with a 3 year old and a 6 year old on the spectrum. We contacted RCL using the ‘Guest Special Services Form' you can download and email back within the ‘Discover > Ship Accessibility' section of the website regarding boarding and the muster drill. It is a generic form so ignore the sections that do not apply and there is a comments section where you can enter other questions or information you are concerned about. We also attached a letter to the email we have from the doctors concerning our childs diagnosis.
Advice is to speak to Gust Relations when you board regarding alternative arrangements for your child on the spectrum and an adult for the muster drill. Reading cruise critic it can vary ship to ship as to whether you join a smaller group and where the muster drill might take place. So my advice would be to check out the accessibility section of the website and email before you travel and speak to guest relations once on board - and print all your emails out before boarding.
great information! thank you

It's a one time thing.
yes thanks. i just know that having a child on the spectrum "stand still" for an hour while there are loud alarm noises and people crowding everywhere is not the best cocktail for us.
was hoping they maybe offered a smaller session on requests.
-
i have not cruised in some time so pardon my ignorance.
i assume there is still the mandatory session for what to do in an emergency etc where everyone has to attend.
i have a 4yo on the spectrum and a 1.5 year old.
does anyone know if there are different times we can do this? the large crowds and long wait times may not be the greatest for us.
know it has to get done... just asking
does it help if im in a suite class?

in light of recent event there are tons of post and im seeing the terms travelers insurance, vacation protection etc used quite frequently.
RCL offers something.... is that what people are referring to? are their different levels of protection? are people getting insurance outside of RCL that covers ?
im seriously clueless and would love a wealth of responses to help me understand.

Can anyone give me insight to this? I can see what the website comes with it but im looking for a real persons experience.
what are the REAL benefits?
-
Wasn't being sarcastic at all, sue might have clearly been used to you, was not to me.
I answered your question, it is safe. I have sailed Anthem twice from the new terminal, parked in the garage both times, no issues.
then i thank you for your insight
-
Why would anyone sue "the parking area in NJ"? There is a brand new parking garage beside the brand new terminal. Both are very safe and convenient.
i never understood the need to be sarcastic on a message board. clearly reading my question one could determine i meant "used"
thanks for your reply and i will wait for one that is actually helpful

has anyone used the parking area in NJ for their cruise? How long was your trip? were you comfortable that your car was safe?
good/bad experiences?

I am going to Nassau in November. This is the first time we are actually going to be there for a decent amount of time. until 530pm. I am thinknig about getting tickets to Paradise Island's water park I notice on Royals website it is 200.00 CAD (160.00 USD) and if you book though Atlantis website it is 162.45 CAD (130.00 USD) but you have to get their yourself. I know if there is any issues it is easier to get your money back with royal in case there is a lighting storm or something
Also do you think it is worth the high price ? What are the lines like in November ?
honestly? i just booked directly via atlantis... for a different reason, but the same end result. for a group of even it saved me $299. thats a lot of money. its 3K from port to atlantis so im not concerned about getting back in time. not sure about weather cancellations though...

I am renting a car while we are in port in port Canaveral. I see there is a shuttle to the actual car rental place approx 10 min away.
Has anyone rented a car and gone back to pick up your family? Am i allowed back towards the ship? I am traveling with little children so i was hoping to not put them on a shuttle with no seats/seatbelts and have them wait for a car.. rather i go through it all and go back and pick everyone up (and in return drop everyone back off there.
has anyone done this or something similar?

What food, if any, am I allowed to bring for my baby?
the jars of food? there are little pouch types. baby snacks?
also, if they are on formula can I bring water since it needs bottle water or do i have to purchase on the ship?
-
Ok, so im not trying to retsart the debate of the auto-gratuities HOWEVER....
are these gratuities for all parties? Meaning even my young children who will not be using the wait staff etc.... does this fee apply to a 1-year old?
-
Anthem offered it last march.
Im going on anthem... so this is would be a benefit for sure
-
I dont mind the "extra" because then its a decision to be made. If its not offered, the decision is made for us.
Thanks. Hope its on our ship.
-
know this sounds silly but traveling with a large group and "on other cruise ships I always got to play bingo"
do you know if this in a generic activity RC does or is it boat specific or not offered at all?
-
I see that some times you can get certified or re certified onboard your cruise ship. Does anyone know which ships offer this service?
-
I am looking and having a hard time with what is on boad and what is shown for anthem
i cannot find any photos of a casino... is there one?
i see mini golf is listed but have heard otherwise... what is true??

hello. ive been doing a lot of reading and im finding conflicting info.
a) does anyone have photos of the area that allows children in swim diapers?
b) is there part of the kids club that parents are allowed to stay in?
c) is the arcade only for kids in the adventure club or all children?
characters on Anthem
in Royal Caribbean International

for those with young children... are the characters really accessible? i mean are they only "there" a certain time or can you randomly spot one?
is the breakfast worth it?
the parade?
