    Hi!

We did a 20 day b2b cruise in Europe this summer on Vista. We gave our 4 suitcases(we travel heavy) to our steward and he stored them. There are drawers in the bathroom and the closet is a decent size too. I also bring an outfit for each day and for each night (don't like to repeat).

Thanks for the feedback... wow, how did you do that?  As mentioned above, the accessible bathrooms have no storage space.  I guess I'll have to hope the closets will hold alot, and use Mauibabes' suggestion of storing under the bed outfits for the second half off the cruise.

Hubby and I spent November 2023 on Vista.   For 16 nights we were in 8116 (accessible cabin) and 12 nights in 8010 (extended balcony)…..so I can readily compare the storage differences.  Both are concierge.

8116……the square footage is the same as a PH.  There is LOTS of open space and it is very easy to move around cabin.  The closet is the same as 8010, but holds fewer hangers/clothes because the “pull down” rod mechanism uses a few inches of width on each side.  Hubby used all the desk drawers and the top closet shelf for his folded clothes.  I used the 2 shelves above the safe for my folded clothes.  The 8116 nightstands have 3 drawers but are much smaller ( perhaps 1/3 or more smaller) than the 8010 nightstands.  The drawers are so small that socks/ undies barely fit.  The 8116 bathroom has NO storage at all.  There is 1 small shelf (approximately 3” x 4”).  It is imperative that all of your toiletry bags have a hook for hanging from the many grab bars.  Because of all the open space, all of our shoes were stored in the room ( not in closet).  It took a few days to find a convenient place for everything.

8010….same square footage as usual concierge cabins.  Very tight between end of bed and wall.  Desk storage the same as 8116.  Nightstand storage is bigger than 8010.  Bathroom has LOTS of clothing and toiletry storage.

This is a very helpful detailed description... but not very encouraging.

  3. Thanks AMF. Our room is accessible (I'm in a wheelchair) so I don't see that extra shelf in the closet.  Your suggestions are good, but it still doesn't look like enough storage for 2 people for 10 days.  I guess we'll make do. One problem is that I'm an over-packer. My husband keeps telling me I don't need 10 different outfits for daytime and 10 different outfits for evening, but I don't believe him.

  4. DH and I will be on Vista January 9 for our first O cruise (another Celebrity refugee).  We have a concierge cabin booked.  When I look at videos on youtube of the cabin walk through, I only see 2 or 3 shallow drawers in the desk and several small drawers in the nightstands.  I'm really worried about where we'll put all of our clothes.

I'm wondering what other people do...help!

  5. I cannot believe I am reading this. We just woke up on day 5 of our 9 night cruise on the Beyond, deck 11 Sky Suite. Since day 1 we smelled a musty odor in the bathroom, which progressively got worse.  My husband's nose has not stopped running and I have a sore throat. We suspected a connection, but weren't sure.

I was going to mention the musty odor to our room attendant this morning, but now it seems that the odor is gone.  I wonder if they did something.  We shall see. Anyway, thanks for the confirmation.

I would just add that should one 'tip' a pool attendant $20 he would weave a towel roof for you on one of the pergolas. (If he commandeers a helper $10 each).  Seascape has improved vinyl roofs, so we tip to towel the back wall of the pergola if needed.

     P.S. I find sudoku helps.

On the Seashore, she has an expanded YC pool deck area vs the Seaside so you can move your chairs up next to the "funnel" (it's not an engine funnel, but more of an air intake) down the side of the pool deck area and have plenty of shade. We had 5 loungers all in a row, no  problem.

Thanks for that information, it sounds encouraging. The video I saw of that area didn't look like it had alot of shade, but I guess it depends on the time of day.  We shall see.

  8. JAGR, thanks for your input.  I just saw a video of the Seashore pool deck, and there really isn't much of an overhang on that new area to provide shade (which I was hoping for).  The seating area near the bar looks more promising, as you mentioned.  We love being outdoors, but with a history of skin cancer, I need to avoid the sun.

I have about 6 different phone numbers for Celebrity.   It doesn’t matter what one I use it ends up being directed to the same queue.   Wait on hold for a long time.   Then want is very frustrating is they say that they will have to transfer me ,  I am now on hold and then i lose the connection.    Then the process starts again.

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

That's what I've always experienced.  And that's why I was hoping that someone had a phone number for FCC problems.

Even the Captain's Club number is now a google result for Celebrity customer service.

  10. Is there a phone number to check on the status of FCC, other than the main number?

I had to cancel a cruise in August (using Cruise With Confidence) and will receive an FCC for $6000, supposedly in 30-45 days from Aug 29.  I have another cruise with a final payment date on Oct 15 , which is 47 days from the cancelled cruise.  I'm hoping to check and see if I will get the FCC in time for the final payment.

Anyone have a phone number for this?  Thanks.

Caribbean is usually one of the LAST destinations opened for future bookings and HAL (along with Aus/NZ and Asia).  Additionally they are usually one of the last to market with Caribbean amongst their peers (along with Princess).  Last year the Fall 2020-Spring 2021 Caribbean bookings didn't open until Early/Mid June if memory serves.  HAL recently opened the Hawaii and Mexico as well as South America Fall 2021 to Spring 2022 sailings, and a few weeks before that the Panama Canal full transits for the same time period.  All of this even in the midst of the covid crisis.  Europe and Alaska always the first itineraries open for booking by HAL, often by 5-6 months before other destinations.

    Thanks for the helpful reply.

  12. Well, the thing is, there are Caribbean cruises scheduled for Jan-Apr of 2021 on HAL's website.  All of the other cruise lines are taking reservations for fall/winter 2021.

Plus, HAL is offering cruises to Europe, S America, Panama Canal, Hawaii and Mexico for Nov 2021... but no Caribbean.
