  1. It depends on your stateroom status. We'll be in a Veranda Suite and booking for custom air began at 210 days out. The higher the stateroom status, the earlier custom air opens. You can find more information in the FAQ section of the Regent website.
  2. I wanted to follow up on my original post on this topic. I had a very good experience using Regent's Custom Air Service and I’m happy we chose to pay the extra $175 each to use the service. For our flight to Rome, we knew our preferred flights would involve up-charges (which we wanted to avoid) and we were right, but the Regent agent had many other options, one of which was very acceptable, and at no extra cost, so we grabbed it. The other options involved departure/arrival times and long layovers that just weren’t acceptable to us. We were most concerned about our flight home from Athens as there aren’t that many good choices to begin with, but we got our first choice, which was by far the best of all options, and at no extra charge! Would we have been assigned these flights if we’d waited until 75 days out and not used the Custom option? Maybe, but maybe we would have wound up being given one of those itineraries that was unacceptable to us. Now we just have to cross our fingers that the Airlines don’t make any drastic changes to our itineraries! Thanks for the many helpful replies.
  3. Thank you for this advice! This is the excursion that I signed us up for.
  4. Thank you so much Kimberly! That's great advice, especially about booking a private tour. I will paying close attention to the comments in this board and if I still have unanswered questions, I may be reaching out.
  5. Thank you! Pompeii is one of the offered excursions and I will take a look at it.
  6. Hello, Very excited to be sailing on Regent Seven Seas for the first time in fall 2024. Will be my first time on a cruise that offers so many options for included excursions. I can begin booking excursions the end of this month and have found it totally overwhelming with so many choices. I'm interested in hearing from travelers, preferably those who have sailed on Regent, on your favorite included (free) excursions in the following ports: Salerno, Sicily, Ephesus, Santorini and Mykonos. I've found it so overwhelming with all of the choices that I'm tempted to pass on booking anything and just "wing it" on our own, but I don't want to miss out on anything. I'm traveling with my husband and another couple. We're in our 60's and 70's and slightly mobility challenged so we wouldn't want to do any level higher than "Moderate" activity. We are not first time cruisers (this will be our 12th), but newbies to Regent, so any other tips or recommendations you can add would be most appreciated!
  7. I'm getting conflicting answers. I understand that "premium" wines and liquors are not complimentary on Regent Seven Seas, but do all cocktails fall under the category of "premium?" Some examples: Dirty Martini, Lychee Martini or Cosmopolitan. Are there separate cocktail menus for complimentary versus premium cocktails?
  8. THANK YOU, this is very helpful information!! Not following you about "in the sticky" on Regent flights though. What is that?
  9. Kwan girl: The extra fee was paid to Regent Seven Seas, not to the airline. The extra fee allows you some flexibility with regard to the flights Regent selects for you. In order to take advantage of this, it helps to have at least several preferred flights in mind if you're not crazy about what Regent picks. I was hoping to connect with someone who has had airfare booked for them by Regent from Dulles to Rome. I did see the United flight, but it's one of the most expensive, so I assumed that Regent would book us on a more economical and less convenient flight. You know the old saying; "if it sounds too good to be true. . ."
  10. August 31, 2023 Hello, Has anyone out there ever been on a Regent Seven Seas cruise and had them book your airfare, specifically anyone from Dulles Airport to Rome? If so, which airline(s) did they book you on? The cruise we booked, which is a little over a year away, includes business class air and I paid the extra fee that gives us input into which flights they book us on. I realize I'm way ahead of the curve, but I'm trying to research the best airline(s), connections, etc., and it's dizzying. It would help if I could narrow it down to just the airlines Regent typically uses and I was hoping someone in this forum that has had airfare booked by Regent from Dulles (or the Washington, D.C. area) to Rome could tell me which airline they were on. Thanks for any input!!
