  1. We ended up coordinating a shuttle from Springhill suites to the port for $7 per person. Also they will also bring us to the airport for $7 a person too. Prepaid with receipt. Just have to walk outside and the shuttle will bring us to the car rental facility at TPA. Sounds like a good idea to me. So far it has worked out for us.
  2. We are flying into Tampa on the Saturday before our cruise. We are not planning on renting a car for the 1 day. Looking for a hotel with an airport shuttle, but that also has near by dining and maybe a Walgreens type store close by. I figured grabbing an Uber to get to the Port the next day, unless a hotel has a shuttle from the airport and also to the port. On our return, we will also look for transportation back to Tampa Airport. Best bet be an Uber? We will have 3 people and luggage.
  3. We fly into FLL and cruise out of Miami. Rent a car at FLL through Alamo and stay in Miramar or Pembroke Pines area. Both locations are in between FLL and Miami. Drop the car at Alamo in Miami at airport and take their free shuttle to the port of Miami. We've done it for 4 years. Post cruise take car rental shuttle back to Miami airport and drive to FLL or wherever (we always drive up to Orlando for a few days). Just remember when getting on car rental shuttle to Miami airport you must show proof of rental to use the free shuttle. Just show them your reservation. Never had an issue. We use Alamo as that is my preferred rental company. Usually can get a 1 day full size rental for $40-50ish. Freedom to stay anywhere at anywhere and grab any last minute items we may need. 4. In a Gaurantee Balcony for May cruise. Wonder what sort of upsells will be offered. What has past experience shown?
  5. Just booked Getaway for May 15-22 and have found very little entertainment options to book.
  6. March 2014 - EPIC - I brought case of water and a 6 pack of bottled soda in a checked bag at the pier. They delivered the bag to the room eventually. It took them longer than the regular luggage though, as there was a note the bag was searched. I'm guessing they were checking for alcohol. Bringing bottle water is big money saver for us.
  7. Snow, snow and more snow! Can we get more than 1 day in a row without any snow fall? Doesn't appear so here in Massachusetts! These poor kids need to start thinking about year round school with all these snow days! :) Just a few more weeks to my EPIC sailaway!
  8. Paul Scally was our cruise director on the EPIC for our February 12-19, 2011 Eastern Caribbean cruise. Saw him all over the ship during several functions. He was enthusiastic and tried to get cruisers involved. He hosted several game shows and events during the week as well as the EPIC tv show. I kinda like his British accent.
  9. Thanks for the info! I should put this on my must do list!
  10. So you can share the 4 or 5 Martini's and just get 1 charge? How long do the tastings usually last?
  11. Just checked LMT and they have the IC for $205/night for Feb 11th. A bit much for my taste. Guess the hotel search continues.
