Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you for all of your opinions and ideas (and only a small amount of judgement...not too bad!). I guess I knew deep down it would be taking a risk and I am not a big risk taker, so I will most likely just stick to my two bottles. 😀
  2. I am going on a cruise with my 19 year old daughter. Per the Celebrity alcohol policy, it mentions allowing 2 bottles of wine per guest. It mentions guests not having alcohol purchased at ports returned to them if they are under the drinking age. And it also says "No guest under age 18 may possess or consume alcohol at any time while onboard. No guest under age 21 may possess or consume alcohol at our private destinations.". All that said, can my 19 year old bring a bottle of wine aboard for me to consume (in addition to the two I am allowed)? I understand it is skirting around the rules...I am just trying to save a little money. But I don't want to get in trouble (or embarrass myself or my daughter). I just find the rules to be very confusing. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  3. Good morning! I will be returning to Miami from a cruise with my adult daughter on a Monday morning this March. We have the rest of that day in Miami and then fly out very early the next morning. We will be staying at the Hyatt House airport hotel to make that early morning a little bit easier. I was thinking of taking an uber from the port to that hotel and either checking in or at least dropping our luggage. Then I was thinking we could somewhere for the day. Since we won't have a car, we will need to uber somewhere and spend our time in a single location and then uber back. Any suggestions on where we could spend a pleasant afternoon? Or is there a better way of spending this time that I am not thinking of? Thank you so much! Lisa
  4. Ok, thank you! This is very helpful. The one concern I had about the Celebrity was that I hear there is more to do on the Carnival cruises. Are we likely to be bored on Celebrity? Or is this such a short cruise that that is unlikely regardless? Thank you again for your quick and helpful responses! Lisa
  5. Hi everyone! I have only been on one cruise before (Princess to Alaska). I am looking to take my college-aged (19) daughter on a short, 4-day cruise from Miami in March. I have narrowed it down to the Celebrity Summit and the Carnival Sunrise. They have similar itineraries and we are doing it on the cheap...inside cabins and trying not to spend lots on extras. Any advice on which might suit us more? We are not partiers but enjoy activities. A good show or some fun comedy or other games would be great. I am not looking for a frat party atmosphere, but don't mind some silliness or fun. They are pretty close in price, so that won't help me make the decision either. Any thoughts? Thanks very much in advance! Lisa
