  1. Your experience is the same as mine. I've been a part of our local theater scene and I've met two of the bands that will be on this goth cruise as we had them here performing for our annual Vampire Ball a few times. Aside from their physical appearance, they will be no different than anyone else and tend to be smart, witty, creative sarcastic, funny and insightful. They are also a very tolerant group. They should be a blast to cruise with :) And I bet you'll see MAGNIFICENT costumes for the masquerade ball!!

I definitely agree with all of the above. I hope someone on this cruise posts a review. I know that many of them will be putting a lot of work into their masquerade ball outfits and will probably love to be photographed in them!

  2. Goths tend to get a bad rap. While I'm not personally in the goth scene, we have a few friends who are. And they are some of the most fun, goofy people we know-who also have a deeply cynical streak, like wearing dark clothing and a lot of makeup, and many are in the local theatrical scene. The ones who are cruising are likely to be more fun and a bit more social than the ones that get a little demonized sometimes. I think it'd be fun!

  3. The more goth cruisers the more deck chairs will be available dont think there in to sitting in the sun

Or it will be a sea of umbrellas like I saw some really amazing Miami goths carrying around!

How do you find out if there is a possibility of a group cruise during your trip?

  4. I know we don't sail for about 6 months....but I verified with our TA that under our rate we wouldn't be locked out of any price changes just because we paid our balance, and then paid the last bit! One less thing on the list, and now I don't have to worry about spending the money we had budgeted for our honeymoon.

Husband went this morning to the passport office to apply for his (I mailed my name change forms for mine a few weeks ago), and our excursions are lined up, so now we just have to sit and wait 6 months until we can set foot on the Pride and finally enjoy our honeymoon.

  5. I'm an early organizer, my husband is not. He's the last minute type. This is my husband's and my first MAJOR trip together (aside from our wedding, which was a whole other set of special planning things, lol). I was the one who started researching cruises and making lists to show him what was available in our price range and time of year we wanted to go.

We are about 6 months out, and I've already made sure to get all the online stuff filled out (except for passports). I'm kind of shocked he agreed to go to the passport office this morning to apply for his, because when he looked at the website it said 6 weeks processing, so we have more than enough time!

I'm a list maker, I will have a list going of stuff to bring by about 2 months before the trip, but I won't actually pull out the suitcases until about 2 weeks before we go. His will sit there empty until the morning we leave, it does every time we go on little trips.

  6. This is my first time catching one of your reviews, but definitely keeping an eye on it and loving it so far! We will be taking our honeymoon on the Pride in February and these are some of the best pictures of inside the ship I've seen so far!

Also, thank you for the confirmation that muster drill is on Promenade deck. I'm not so great on stairs and knowing where it will be held in relation to our stateroom is very helpful.
  7. It's been YEARS since my last cruise, but the escargot was always a favorite.

Don't be scared to try it, with the way it is served, it is very easy to mentally think they are mushrooms, and that little piece of toast is the perfect addition because the garlic butter is so good. On Disney they serve them in the shell. While still delicious, very difficult to trick your mind into thinking they are something else until you try them!

Also excited to get the melting cake again. We might even try room service for the first time this cruise. Sometimes the appeal of not getting out of bed might win out over going to any of the restaurants, lol.

  8. It's pretty typical from what I've noticed (I frequently check out of curiosity since I'm a Florida resident), but remember that the reason rates are low is partially because it is hurricane season so more chance your itinerary could change significantly. I know of more than a couple people who took cruises at this time of year because the rates are very low, but had a LOT of rain during most of the trip and found they couldn't do as much as they wanted to.

  9. Thank you everyone! Very helpful and eases our mind that we won't have to do "creative" packing to try and bring the stuff we need/want to have with us. I'll make sure to bring a little extra cash for the porters handling our bags though since we'll possibly be handing them slightly more than the average couple.

  10. Husband and I are taking our honeymoon on the Pride this February (yay!). We are planning to do a lot of water intensive activities when in port, and we own our own dive and snorkel gear that we want to bring with us (except for tanks) so we don't have to use the rental stuff. This is EASILY an entire extra suitcase/duffel bag because of the fins.

How many bags are we "allowed" to bring with us? Is it just 1 suitcase and 1 carry on per person? Or will we have some leeway if we aren't as great at packing as we are hoping we will be and have to bring an extra bag with us?

  11. Yep, Jeffrey is the one with the tasty neck tattoo. I am all for tattoos, I have two, but on your neck? In the front?

My sister and I are both tattoo girls (I only have 1, but she is 18 and already has 2, one of which is on the back of her neck, the other is the start of a huge, gorgeous backpiece, she can do it, she's an artist, I can't, I plan to be in the business world and need to maintain an outward moderately conservative appearance :p ), and we both HATE his tattoo. It looks really stupid, I'm still trying to figure out all of what it says, plus it makes his neck look about an inch long.
